I am actually surprised that this was the 1st time I had gone to Wave country since it's actually a pretty decent pool/waterpark if you've got young kids. 2022 prices were $12 (plus tax) for adults and $10 for kids. There's also a season pass that is $40 for kids / seniors and $50 for adults for the whole season which is from Memorial to Labor day. The waterpark is part of Metro Parks and therefore very affordable for the average family. It's not so fancy, but I prefer not being nickle and dimed like the $ hungry Nashville Shores which my family and I will never patronize on principle. Upon entering the park, I was actually surprised at how empty it was. There were only 5 huge umbrella shades scattered around the park. Each umbrella had 3 large wooden tables with attached benches on each side. My party took a table close to the concession stand. The prices were actually very affordable. The main attraction is the Wave pool, hence the name but there are a total of 5 slides too. The 1 kiddie slide and the 2 identical slides that swirl around in the opposite direction all end up in a shallow area of 3 ft. Then across the foliage, there are 2 slides that you'll have to climb up to reach. On the left slide, the waterpark attendant told us to lie down as I went down which I did. Not sure if that was good advice. All of us in my party hurt our backs from the way our bodies slid down and slammed on the curvatures on the slide. There was a group of 5 that also complained of the same so they advised me to only ride the slide on the right; "The death drop" 1 of them in my group chickened out but the rest of us did go on the other which is a very steep 2 second drop. That was super smooth and exhilarating and there was no back pain at all! As we were leaving the landing area, I felt a sharp stinging pain in my arm. As I look down, I hear the girls start to scream and we frantically try to get a Horsefly off me which then attacks them, then me again. We ran with arms flailing. And then a wasp joins in! So we run to the wave pool and jump in to get away from these vicious creatures. I was the main person attacked and in a lot of pain. My back and my right arm started to swell up from the multiple stings/bites. Thank goodness Wave country has a medic on staff who was called to assist. Evidently this was a normal phenomenon as the staff seemed to not really care since there are many of these Horseflies, wasps, yellow jackets and various types of bees they said. The only thing he had to offer was Ibuprofen and Benadryl. The concession stand gave me ice for the swelling and water to take my pills. I rested up a little as the girls ate and enjoyed their slushy from the concession stand. Found out from other season pass patrons, that the area where the biggest slide was is where most people get attacked by these bugs. That the Horsefly actually has teeth and bites while the other winged creatures sting. And that they can sting multiple times as they don't lose their stingers. I don't understand why the staff don't fumigate the park in those areas if this happens all the time. This is a nice simple waterpark and I'd love to return next season but definitely not after personally getting attacked and being told that "it is just the way it is" and the staff aren't going to do anything about it to remediate the situation. And this is why I gave 3 stars instead of 5 stars. If anyone at Metro Parks is reading this review, PLEASE FUMIGATE for our safety and so I can return. I will be happy to get a season pass if I'm not the main course.

My family and some friends from out of state decided to enjoy a day at Wave country. Everything was fine until a family decided to come in and not abide by stated rules. 1- the grown man 40ish was running around in very obvious boxer briefs with...well, nothing left to the imagination. 2- his male children, The same...and decided to urinate, in the grass....where kids and Adults were walking. 3- their pre-teen daughter was wearing a soaked tank top that completely exposed her. After numerous life guards doing absolutely nothing I went to the adults, and manager. They assured me they would take care of it seeing as how I now, and my children weren't the only ones disturbed by it... I saw them speak to the man And then they came by and said "thanks" We stayed close to another hour Nothing Changed He never changed at all...nor did the children. So beware of grown men with certain things out, preteens showing everything, and stepping in urine because bathrooms are not required for use when needing to "go" I won't even talk about the rumors of someone deficating in the pool....and they let everyone continue to swim.

This is a cost vs reward 4 star. It's seriously only $12 per person and you can bring your own cooler of food and drinks. They have 4 slides, a kiddie area, and a giant wave pool. It's a pretty small place but worth the cost of admission. Parking = Free Tubes = Free City Savers Coupon = Buy 1 Get 1 Free Locker Rental = $4 which is pretty much free Bring your own Snacks in a Cooler = Free Eat that Nashville Shores

Although it's called Wave Country, the exit off Briley Parkway says Wave Pool. Just saying. That aside, I love coming here. Compared to some water parks that are semi close in Bowling Green and Eddyville, Kentucky, Wave Country offers a great deal for what they have. It costs ten dollars to get in, and the last time I was there float rental was free. It's your typical pool place in that it opens Memorial Day and closes Labor Day, but not so typical because they let you bring in your own coolers. The park is on the small side. There's a kiddy pool, some small bamboo colored slides, two huge slides you can't help but notice from the parkway, and it's namesake sits smack in the middle. If I'm not trying to tan I'm in that wave pool; I think I could sit in there for hours, hoards of people not in the pool permitting.

Went to visit this pool on a hot day with family. 2023 The pool had been closed for 2 years with…read morecovid and all. We get there and enjoying the day swimming with our kids, my husband goes to diving board and jumps off, and goes again and does a flip, and again and does a flip, and then again another flip, then a life guard tells him he can't do that. No flips aloud, he then asked the life guard if it was on the pool rule board that was posted, he said he thinks so. Weird you would think a life guard would know this. My husband walks up and looks at it and see's that it wasn't posted on there and asked about it, and the life guards (2 of them say it is a new rule) and he asked for a manager, she came out and said that she was new and that it could be a rule, weird again, my husband said that he would mention it to the city to have the rules updated. After a little more swimming we stop to eat lunch and notice that life guards and people there are looking over at us talking. My husband then starts paying attention to all the rules he had just read are being broken and life guards are doing nothing about it, and they are being distracted by people there, particularly 3 of the people. My husband then decides to call the city of Goodlettsville to find out about rules of the pool, since he didn't feel like he had violated any but there were plenty that were and getting away with them since they were all hazarded to people getting hurt. While he is waiting for someone to call him back from the city we go swimming and just brings the phone with him. While standing to side while watching our kids swim, he takes a couple pix of all the people that are violating rules and getting away with them and distracting the life guards. A life guard next to us out of the blue says are you taking pictures of them? He asked her why is it against the law and she just said maybe just let them know. So he took her picture. By now the life guards are all passing this info around and looking and telling the 3 people things as well, by this point in the day there is so much bs made up about my husband with a handful of swimmers as well as most if not all the "young" lifeguards. And I mean young, as under the age of 18, so I was told. Apparently the city was desperate to fill these lifeguard positions. While he is waiting for a phone call 2 of the 3 makes it down on the shallow end where we were splashing water in his direction and calling him a Karen. (this people were not at this end of the pool the whole time we have been here until now) He finally gets the phone call and is talking to a woman named Jennifer that is from Goodlettsville city and is over the pool, she tells my husband she is on her way and he tells her may want to get the police as well , bc they are starting trouble. ( I end up having to say to one of them, that is in front of me and pointing and saying there's the Karen that if You have something to say Say it, and he just replied I was talking to her and disappears back to the other end of the pool and doesn't come back) So Jennifer shows up along with about 6-7 of Goodlettsville's finest police officers, and my husband is talking to them, Someone else called the police so now they are there for something criminal now, and saying stuff about photo's. PLEASE IT IS NOT ILLEGAL TO TAKE PHOTO's. So needless they didn't have much of a use there.. My thing is that this woman Jennifer from the city of Goodlettsville made you believe she was trust worthy. Saying she would talk to the employees that they shouldn't have attend in this manner and that if we leave they can get the other trouble makers to leave as well. She said she would text us passes to come back since we had to leave, it has been a week and we have not heard from her. My husband told her that it was best not to talk with me bc I might hurt her feelings for asking us to leave, well dam straight I would have more than that, Say you would do something and here it is a week later and no response from you. you made my little boy leave the pool, just so the police would leave is all that it went down to. I feel like these trouble makers are probably regulars there, as they continue constantly talk to the life guards and distract them. So there is definitely some seniority there. There is a little more to this story, but I have waisted enough time writing this review since they will not do anything.

With the eyes that have been on Cleveland Park of late, I am surprised to be the first review for this neighborhood destination. 'Discovering' what the park had to offer was a joy; it's a perfect spot for nearby locals. One thing I enjoyed about the park is that it was utilized. People who have been in the neighborhood for a while were throughout the community center, working the front desk, playing basketball and ping pong, playing with their kids on the playground... I hope the neighborhood can hold on to the character and community it enjoyed before the boom... because the park is a great neighborhood resource. Nestled squarely within the Cleveland Park neighborhood (and a nice smattering of original homes and the new abominations developers are hellbent on popping up all over the city), the actual park is a few city blocks of greenery, mature trees, 2 baseball diamonds, a soccer field, community center, swimming pool (!), indoor & outdoor basketball courts, meeting rooms, foosball, and a pavilion for lunching. With a generous parking lot, I was impressed with how well maintained the park is and how deceptively large it is. In roaming all around it, I was surprised to find more hidden gems. There's a walking trail that abuts a tennis court that could use some TLC. It also overlooks train tracks (the vegetation hides them for the most most). But this is, truly, a neighborhood park. It's extremely well-planned and offers resources for residents to enjoy as a community. Some of the parks/green spaces we explore are more of the 'open field' sort -- and that's fine. There's a lot of beauty in wide open spaces. But to come across a park that had a specific plan, a conception borne of need and execution that delivers -- and on the east side -- well, it's a joy to encounter. Cleveland Park (the park) is a joy. Explore your metro and discover it for yourself.

The history of the property isn't very well documented, but in my research, I did find a lot of criminal activity here in the 1970s and 1980s. With East Nashville being gentrified over the last ten years, it will be interesting to see what changes happen to this park in the next few years, and how much money gets pumped into it. I did enjoy the trail along the perimeter, and the layout is very typical of Ben West-era parks.
