Only 2 rows on each side is open due to social distancing so it took forever to get on the ride even if lines were short.

There were 6 of us that went to Beech Bend this weekend for the 1st time and I was very glad we did as everyone had a blast. For those worried about COVID-19, I'll go into details just for you. (Pros/Cons and advice) It is up to you if you choose to wear a mask or not. Upon entry, your forehead temperature is scanned. At rides, even if a line is short, it takes quite a while bcos they disinfect each seat with spraying it down with a cleaning solution before allowing riders on. At the rides, they seat families together and space out strangers as best as possible. Nice that there are free 30SPF sunblock stations but definitely not sanitized as each person touches the pump with their hands. Bring your own SPF or at least your own wipes to sanitize the pump before using it. However at the waterpark sections, it is impossible for social distancing. When going up the water slides, everyone is squished together. The big pool in the back with the netting was full of people of all ages, teeny babies to elderly grandparents. The wave pool was in my opinion just nice as I've seen packed wave pools and this was just perfect. But, you can't social distance bcos there's no controlling who you're gonna bump into. There was a couple (albeit hilarious and ridiculous) that attempted to by wearing a "Joker" mask/neck gaiter but it was wet and i was more worried about them choking/drowning. Not sure if they were really COVID19 afraid or trying to pull a stunt wearing the Joker cloth gaiter. Sadly, I didnt have my phone or I'd surely have taken a pic of that At the food booths, only 2 lines were open in each section for social distancing but everyonr in the lines were standing back to back bcos the lines were long. Even those that just wanted free water/ice had to stand in line which kinda didnt help. == Maybe the park should have water stations that we guests can refill BOTTOMLINE: If you don't care about COVID, or want to have a semi-normal day of what it felt pre-covid, you'll have a great time. We were not worried bcos we already have gotten and cleared COVID-19 and even if we hadn't, we would have been prepared to be in quarantine 14 days and let ourselves recover. However, if you're elderly and worried, stay home cos it's impossible to do 6ft social distancing and due to lines etc. Now that we've gotten the COVID precautions out of the way, for newbies like myself.... We got this special 2 for 1 deal. Typically it's $37.99 plus 6% tax is $40.27 per person per day. And since we went both Sat and Sun for Labor day weekend, the 6 of us would've paid quite a lot! This saved us a ton whew! The $10 souvenir cup was a great deal and both our families each got it and saved on the $1 refills. If you dont, each 20oz drink is $3 so if you plan on getting more than 4 drinks, you're better off with the souvenir cup. I was actually very impressed with the whole affordability of the Food and Beverage options and prices at Beech Bend park. And they had Funnel Cakes for $4. We shared 3 over the course of 2 days but worked it off running up all those stairs for the water slides I'm giving this a 4* instead of 5* only bcos they are not open daily and of the remaining weekends, they are closed every Sat and only available 11am-7pm on Sundays. They should also consider having later hours like some water parks in other states stay open 1-2 days weekly till 9pm I'm actually looking forward to buying a season pass next year as the kids totally loved it!

Review of campground. where do I start? Basically, the place is a dump. It reminds me of a mobile home park with a bunch of permanent residence and RVs that look like they've been abandoned for years. The electrical connections are dangerous. The surge protector on the motorhome next to us melted, when plugged into the power box and while we were here for this stay the power kept going out. They blamed it on the number of RVs, but yet they have all of these spaces and not the capacity to supply them with power even the maintenance person who had only worked here for a short time said he had never seen such shotty and dangerous electrical work before. The space we ended up getting which was one of the last ones the water pipe leaked and was right next to the power box so when you go to plug into the power box, you were standing in 3 inches of water. Unfortunately, the other parks were all full for this weekend so we ended up just running our generator the whole time would never stay here again. I would rather spend the night in Walmart parking lot. and the staff at the check-in booth was mostly rude. Lastly, they have signs as well as the rules. They hand out when you check in stating no motorcycles, ATVs, etc. only golf carts allowed, but yet there were ATVs and minibikes running all over the park all hours of the day and night.

Clean and Family Fun! We went this past June with the Family on a Monday after it had rained, did the 3pm and after admission. The park was clean and hardly anyone there. My kids and I went on the rides time and time again since there were no lines. I highly recommend as the water park was a big hit, as was the carnival rides. My kids have been asking when we will return. The staff was friendly and promoted the park well. Thank you for a wonderful time, and visit for vacation. I was shocked by the low reviews, nothing was less than perfect when we were there.

Small but calm park with a bit of history. They have one of Michael Jackson's old rides and there is also some history to their wooden coaster. I believe they said it was the oldest in the world. This is a great low key spot for a kid who has never been to a theme park before, history buffs, or people wanting to cool off in the water park. It's a small park. Privately owned. And from my understanding, it has been in the same family since it first opened. Great place for company parties. They also give military discounts. Admission is pretty reasonable.

The yellow slide is the one I found myself trying to get out of, Maybe they didn't have enough water flow going through it , IDK

A couple years later my parents upgraded to a lake house, and they come down here almost every weekend (Even in the winter!!) I try to make it out here at least a couple times a year and it's always a fun time. The lake is gigantic and absolutely beautiful to cruise on. The surrounding neighborhoods have lovely homes and friendly people. All of the facilities that I have visited at this state park have always felt clean and nice. I could easily recommend this park to anyone. It is way out in the country off of the highway, but it is well worth it for a relaxing weekend in the sun!

There is a dump station with 2 sites. The reservation check in has ice and fire wood, but it's hit or miss if someone is there to help you. We never even officially checked in because no one was there. We stayed on electric site #2 and it was perfectly shaded and quiet. The sites are nice and level with large spaces for games, hammocks, dogs, etc. Just outside the campground is the beach, park office and lake access for boats. The beach is small, but maintained well. We went on a 95+ degree day and the lake water felt like bath water, it was so warm. The lake was busy with a lots of boats and lots of beach goers. The park is pretty small, it mostly encompasses the lake, and there is not much around there. It take 40 min to get to the interstate and close to an hour to reach Mammoth Cave.

The campground is normally well manicured, a genuine camping experience with the amenities of a bath house and certain sites having electric and water. The only thing I could dock stars for (but figure it's part of camping anyway), would be the bath house. The sheer amount of spiders and large insects lingering around at all hours is insane, especially when showering or dropping the deuce, as 8 legs come hauling ass your way! The campground has become increasingly packed on weekends with many of the sites being booked months in advance. That's fine by us. Our schedule allows us to be off while the majority of the workforce is hard at it. We absolutely love being at the campground through the week, especially while school is in session. This allows us to sometimes be the only campers in the area and the waters of Nolin lake to be like glass. The campsites vary in length and layout as well as some that offer electric and water. They all have a picnic table, lantern hook and a fire ring with grill top. Just bring a tent and some chairs, don't forget the graham crackers, chocolate and the marshmallows and make memories that you and your family will cherish forever. You will see plenty of deer and wild turkey in the area throughout the year. Many of the sites have lakefront footage as well, allowing you or loved ones to wet a line and maybe catch dinner for the evening. Hope your family enjoys your stay as much as mine, Happy Camping!
