The smile says it all! Thank you, KOA Bowling Green!

AN A+ STAY! After a day of travel and meetings, pulling into the KOA was refreshing! The grounds are beautiful. The staff is so welcoming! Big smiles and great customer service. The deluxe cabin is waterfront and so welcoming. The ducks are an added bonus! Tree-lined and everything a campground should be. Activities and amenities are at your fingertips. If you have not experienced the Bowling Green KOA, it is a must! Well done, KOA

    Broken fire pit

Pros: Overall nice campground, two fishing lakes, a swimming pool, kids playground, dog park, miniature golf and paddle boats. Also, very friendly staff. Cons: I guess it depends on the site but we were somewhat disappointed with ours. The one fire pit on our site was broken and totally dysfunctional. The other fire pit had a dented/broken top on it. Also, the sewer drain for our site was very high for some reason making it difficult to dump our tanks. Lastly, it was Memorial Day weekend with a full park and the store closed at 6:00 pm on Sunday evening. That just really surprised us I guess so we were not able to get any more wood for the evening.

Dump. Its a dump. If you care about your rv then you won't stay here. They are so bad about trimming trees that my coach has scratches down the side of it now. Fire pit had grass growing out of it. BBQ still full of charcoal and ashes. WiFi was terrible so don't plan on doing any business while you are there. Sewer connection was broken and required a brick to hold it in place. Laziness or cheapness about trimming trees and cleaning. Was told by one worker that the maintenance/tree trimmer quit. Clearly obvious. Location wasn't bad. Wasn't loud. If you don't like dogs then I wouldn't walk into the office where some obnoxious white dog ran around barking.

Great friendly staff, nice bathrooms, level sites. So why not 5 stars? The putt putt in front smelled like sewage.

Prices to get in the amusement/water park are $44.99 plus tax for anyone over 48" but there are a few offers that can get you in cheaper. I strongly suggest using a discount, as this park is not worth the full price. You are allowed to bring one water bottle per person and you should because there are limited areas of shade. The two star review is because of the following: First, like many of the prior reviews have stated, the rides are old, unkept, and rickety. A few are even dangerous. The Wild Mouse gave me a bruised leg and sore neck. The main attraction for thrill seekers is the Kentucky Rambler, which was closed when we were there. There were other rides closed too. Second, most of the snack huts were closed. The lines at the opened concessions were long and moved slow. Of course food is overpriced too. I would recommend bringing your lunch/snacks in a cooler and going outside the park for eating. They allow you to go and come with a stamp. There are shaded picnic tables outside the park if you bring your lunch. You can't bring coolers of food inside. Third, the park is overrun with tweens and teens. Ages 12 and up are allowed in without an adult. My 9 year old son rode the bumper cars and got bumped really hard by a unsupervised teenager. I was worried he may have gotten whiplash. Fourth, our experience with the staff was pleasant and the only reason we gave 2 stars instead of 1 star. The staff enforced the rules and took their jobs seriously. Many of them joked around with my son. In conclusion, if you are an area tween or teen with a season pass, this park may be worthwhile. If you have kiddos under 5 years old, there are a number of kiddie rides that are safe enough. The water park also has a nice little kids section. The free parking and free sunscreen is a plus. If you arrive when they open, lines for rides aren't long, especially on weekdays. Again, if you pay full price for your tickets and don't bring your own food, you will probably be disappointed. However, if you pack food and get a discount, you may be able to enjoy yourself if you fancy low budget fair rides. I recommend Holiday World, about an hour from Beech Bend, it's well worth the drive. Holiday World is clean and the rides are safe. If you go to Holiday World in May, your tickets would be cheaper than Beech Bend.

Most of the campers were locals or from nearby. The sites are slightly close, but with a lot of green space. The people next to us had several tents set up and one was even placed in our site... some people just don't know proper campground manners and this isn't the first time I'd experienced that. I can't speak on the rates or the booking process, it wasn't my turn for that task. I do know that he booked it through the recreation.gov After check in, there is a sharp left turn into the row of sites. If you're rig is big, don't risk it, just go straight and enter into the site area from the back. Several sites are water front, but not really accessible to the water. The body of water isn't the lake though, it's more of the channel from the dam to Barren River Lake. The boat ramp about midway in the campground, is a great fishing spot, if the dam isn't open. Catfish are the scores, but not when we were there, while there was too much water current from the open dam. It's in the western region of Kentucky, about two and a half hours from Lexington, so I don't recommend it for a short trip from here. Glasgow is the closest larger city and that was about twenty minutes away. If you're a BBQ restaurant lover, Glasgow is your place. We passed so many, I lost count.

I see staff maintaining the gravel roads that give way to the heavy rains and they make sure the lots are safe. If you're not happy with the site they will find you another one. It's always full during the weekends. There's a short lull and then we get new neighbors sometimes the very same day the last folks left within an hour or so! Beautiful large green area for your dogs to explore. Has large swimming pool, basketball hoop, and put put. Only one laundry facility. It uses CSC Go. You'll see lots of deers when entering or leaving the park so slow down. Glasgow or Bowling Green are your go-to for big stores shopping or groceries about 15-30 minutes away. Checkin is easy and straight forward, they had us find our own site and call back with number. We found a nice backin, full hookup site in the shade with open space to one side of us. Not all sites have 50 amp, some are 30 amp only, which is not a problem with us, we know how to play the don't have multiple power draws on at the same time game. The park itself was quiet, probably most campers out for the day seeing the sites close by. The park seemed well cared for, newly mowed. It's not a real large park, the long term are separated from those passing through. The laundry in the park was more expensive per load than what is charged in other Thousand Trails Parks, so we waited until our next location. We noticed the pool being filled for the season and that the Mini Golf had be redone. What makes this park special is the proximity to the National Park. The Mammoth Cave, Diamond Cave, multiple hiking and biking trails close by. One trail can be picked up on the main road in front of Diamond Cavern entrance. The trail will take you to a mammoth Cave. We road our bikes on the trail, be prepared for a bit of of a climb, the return is lots of fun with all the downhill. This campground is also close to other caves as well as outdoor activities. We regret we did not schedule more time to explore the area.
