Plenty of RV spots year round. Great pool, lake, and inflatable water attraction. Very accommodating staff and most public areas well maintained. The Trading post has a great breakfast and lunch options. Advise getting to park early because it is almost impossible to navigate at night. The place is so big and has multiple sections. Having Tiny Homes, Cabins, and RV sites readily available really helps. read more

Roads are awful! When checking in we were handed a scratchy map and had to search for our campsite without any help from the staff. This campground must be a permanent home to several as it looks like a low income trailer park. The "store" restaurant or whatever you want to call it shuts down the grills a 4 pm. The tent campsites were very poorly maintained as were the facilities where the game room was. Missing tiles in the bathroom and lots of chipped paint. When we arrived at our campsite, there were empty beer cans in the fire pit and other trash strewn all over the place The pool and camp Store were wonderful. read more

We are leaving Natchez Trace Thousand Trails in Tennessee this morning and enjoyed our brief stay. Arriving at the park we did not know what to expect, having read some questionable reviews. The road to the park takes you through some of the Natchez Trace Parkway, absolutely stunning tree lined road with so much history. With knowledge of the low bridge near the park, we were prepared with the by pass route in advance. Once we arrived checkin was pretty straight forward, as we were driving through two different rangers approached us with great campsite choices, even volunteered to take us there in their vehicles. All 50 amp, some with sewer. We settled on one with partial lake view and 50 amp. Thank you to both rangers for being so helpful. The roads were a little interesting in spots but my husband had no problem maneuvering the MH towing our car through a couple of tight corners and few rough patches but all in all not bad. The road to the different sections are paved and in good shape. They do have some steep hills up and down, so be prepared if your rig is a little under powered. The grounds of the park are large, covering a number of acres in a park like setting. The sandy beach area had a few families enjoying the lake that opens up to a large open field. They offer kayak rentals through ranger station. Some of the parks cabins border the lake in this area and look inviting and tranquil. There is a little camp store that also serves as a restaurant as well. The different sections were mowed and tidy. The pool just opened up yesterday. The lodge in Phase II had a cute outdoor area with what appeared to have a wooden dance floor. There was a small library, pool tables, entertainment area inside. We would definitely revisit while traveling through in the future. read more

Very poorly maintained. Roads around campground are crumbling. Only 2 laundry facilities, neither of which are anywhere close to the third section. Visited in March, all the fall brush/leaves had never been picked up. Campsite was full of garbage, cigarette butts and patio slab was broken in multiple places making it unsafe to walk on. Garbage bins overflowing. Never saw any staff/maintenance outside the main office. read more

Nice park, great location!! Spots are poorly marked, most amenities are located far from sites especially in area 2. Most of the sites are only water and electric, the full hookup sites are difficult to locate and usually taken by annual members who leave their units on the sites. Overall I might return because if the surrounding area not because of the park itself. I felt that the staff didn't want to be helpful and treated questions as an inconvenience. Had to find our own site with no real direction or recommendations. read more

I just purchased a Thousand Trails Camping pass and this was the first campground for us to try. I really liked the campground, the check-in was easy and the host was very friendly and helpful. As others mentioned, the roads in places are in bad shape but it's not like you're driving 60 mph on them so they're manageable. The site we were in was a pull thru 50 amp full hook-up site with plenty of room front to back and side to side. There seems to be more "annuals" here than people passing thru. Very nice and large dog park that our German Shepherd enjoyed. Nice and clean campground, the only negative besides the road conditions was that the concrete pad that the picnic table sat on was in pieces. The employees that work here do a good job with what they have, I'm sure that corporate isn't giving them the funds needed to do proper repairs. Will surely come back. read more

This is a big commercial chain, trying their best to create a resort/summer camp atmosphere for people who can afford a 5th wheel or RV, but not a time-share or summer property of their own. Like me? I understand, as I write this, that it was over the Christmas holiday. But this place was desolate. It doesn't help that an arctic front moved in and it had been raining in the area for five days or more. I get all that. But the feeling of abandonment felt sad. The permanent residents had all their stuff out, kayaks and equipment strewn about. Some sites were tidied up with covered golf carts, etc. but some sites look very "Deliverance" and 2nd world. The park has three "phases" and I stayed in the "Phase II" campground. This gives the feeling that it is an estate or a planned community, and that you should buy a membership. The campground where I stayed was extensive. There were a reasonable number of trees, so most sites would have shade during the summer. Sites are very check by jowl, I imagine in the summer there would be little privacy or quiet. Sites are also narrow with an odd concrete platform sticking out into 1/3 of the pad. All that does is make it even harder to set your RV on a level. Very few of the site are anything approaching level, but I've found that in most campgrounds, private and public, in the state of Tennessee. Most sites are well graveled. Only a few looked muddy. The sites were a mess, with branches, broken glass from broken service lights in some. The builders only put in 30 amp or 30/50 amp outlets without a corresponding 110 v outlet. This meant I had to run my heat tape through my RV electrical system (luckily I had an outdoor outlet), and that I couldn't put my Christmas lights out. The campground roads are disintegrating, and are potholed and rutted. On a positive note the laundry room and bathhouse are neat, clean, and well-maintained. I was to stay three nights but left a day early. Something about the feeling of abandonment, the complete lack of security personnel, made me want to leave, badly. I got sick during the night and just wanted to get out. Was it the stress of being in such a forgotten, flotsam and jetsam place? A few deer came out my last night. That was a nice change. read more

We are Thousand Trails members and haven't had terrible experiences, but this is a campground we probably won't choose to come back to unless there's no other option. The campground itself is nice, lots of open space, places to walk, a lake and trees. We arrived and chose a spot in Phase 2. The spot was so unlevel that I thought I was going to roll out of bed. We did end up moving, but the space we are on is kind of tight. It didn't have a well placed campfire spot either, it was literally on the edge of the next RV spot and we were afraid that we would have to keep rebuilding it anytime the neighbor needed to leave so we ended up building one closer to our site. It's a little hard to see which sites have full hookups and which ones don't. They are color coded on the hookups. Orange have sewer, white do not. Now on to the main reasons we don't like it here: First, while they do have a Trading Post store and ranger station, it's so far from the campsites in Phase 2 that if you don't have a tow car, you would be walking over a mile to get there. The hills just driving to the campsites are very steep that if you have a old RV, like ours, you may be in for a anxious ride to the top. Second, the wifi is awful, I mean really awful. This isn't a huge concern normally, but we are bloggers and I'm a student and this made it impossible to get any work done. We couldn't even make phone calls most of the time. Thirdly, we always call campgrounds prior to staying to make sure we can receive packages. We don't have a tow car and our RV is too big to drive to stores and stuff all the time so when we called this campground, they said we can receive packages and they bring them to our site. Since we order groceries online, this was something we needed. The first time we got a package, they brought it. The next time and everytime after that, they didn't and won't. We called and asked them, it was a very rainy day and they said they couldn't. We asked a neighbor to bring us to the station and store only to find out they changed their mind and decided to bring us our packages. We also expected to see a store with camping staples like hot dogs, marshmallows and the like, but the store basically had soda and beer. The workers were eating burgers when we arrived and didn't even get up to help us. They didn't seem too concerned to answer questions. The bathrooms are clean, but the shower heads are super low on the wall. I could fit just barely and my 6 foot one husband had to literally duck to fit underneath. In conclusion, if you want a campground that offers clean bathrooms, a nice view and lots of walking, then this place is perfect, but that's about all the perks it has. read more

We selected full hookup site #70 in the phase 2 section. The rickety electrical box looked like it was built in the 1970's and we had to tap it a few times to actually get power. So we dropped our jacks, put out the slideouts and thought that all was well. Then around 6:00pm the electricity died for good. I called the office and of course nobody was there. Turns out that there is an after hours emergency phone number, but it is posted way back at the ranger station. Would it kill these people to print this number on the map? Other campgrounds do this routinely so it should be a no-brainer. Luckily we were able to move a few sites down and complete our setup again prior to sunset. The next day I explained the situation to a ranger station employee and suggested that they block off site #70 so no guests try to enter until the electrical box is fixed. She agreed enthusiastically and said that maintenance would be contacted right away. Well...they never blocked the site and the box remained in shoddy condition for the next week. The staff here really needs to try harder! Anyway the park itself is spacious and includes a recreation office, lodge and store. The phase 2 section men's bathrooms & showers were dirty and in dire need of immediate renovation. My wife said that the women's side was ok. Couldn't program any over the air TV channels at our site and my AT&T phone had zero bars. Paid $14.95 for 1 week of wifi and it was surprisingly good. YouTube even worked ok. We enjoyed biking down to the 50 amp RV section near the boat launch at the lake. Pool near the campground entrance seemed to be in good shape but we didn't try it. There is also a running track. WARNING: Make sure to approach this campground from the south on Hwy 241/Napier road as there is a low clearance 11 foot bridge just to the north. Be careful! read more

This is an older Thousand Trails Park, but they are starting to invest in the property. I do have one warning if you use Garmin to direct you to the campground, there is a 11 foot bridge that Garmin doesn't tell you about it. You find out to late and you'll have to unhook and then back up and go around. When you make reservations ask how to avoid the 11 foot bridge. It appears its taken the top of the 18 wheeler s trailers and air conditioners from RV. We were there for 2 weeks, it's about 1 1/2 hr from Nashville so we would alternate between going to Nashville and doing day trips on the Natchez Trace road, there are a lot of historical and hikes to enjoy. read more
