    Some campsite

We are leaving Natchez Trace Thousand Trails in Tennessee this morning and enjoyed our brief stay. Arriving at the park we did not know what to expect, having read some questionable reviews. The road to the park takes you through some of the Natchez Trace Parkway, absolutely stunning tree lined road with so much history. With knowledge of the low bridge near the park, we were prepared with the by pass route in advance. Once we arrived checkin was pretty straight forward, as we were driving through two different rangers approached us with great campsite choices, even volunteered to take us there in their vehicles. All 50 amp, some with sewer. We settled on one with partial lake view and 50 amp. Thank you to both rangers for being so helpful. The roads were a little interesting in spots but my husband had no problem maneuvering the MH towing our car through a couple of tight corners and few rough patches but all in all not bad. The road to the different sections are paved and in good shape. They do have some steep hills up and down, so be prepared if your rig is a little under powered. The grounds of the park are large, covering a number of acres in a park like setting. The sandy beach area had a few families enjoying the lake that opens up to a large open field. They offer kayak rentals through ranger station. Some of the parks cabins border the lake in this area and look inviting and tranquil. There is a little camp store that also serves as a restaurant as well. The different sections were mowed and tidy. The pool just opened up yesterday. The lodge in Phase II had a cute outdoor area with what appeared to have a wooden dance floor. There was a small library, pool tables, entertainment area inside. We would definitely revisit while traveling through in the future.

Very poorly maintained. Roads around campground are crumbling. Only 2 laundry facilities, neither of which are anywhere close to the third section. Visited in March, all the fall brush/leaves had never been picked up. Campsite was full of garbage, cigarette butts and patio slab was broken in multiple places making it unsafe to walk on. Garbage bins overflowing. Never saw any staff/maintenance outside the main office.

    Big sites, plenty of room.

I just purchased a Thousand Trails Camping pass and this was the first campground for us to try. I really liked the campground, the check-in was easy and the host was very friendly and helpful. As others mentioned, the roads in places are in bad shape but it's not like you're driving 60 mph on them so they're manageable. The site we were in was a pull thru 50 amp full hook-up site with plenty of room front to back and side to side. There seems to be more "annuals" here than people passing thru. Very nice and large dog park that our German Shepherd enjoyed. Nice and clean campground, the only negative besides the road conditions was that the concrete pad that the picnic table sat on was in pieces. The employees that work here do a good job with what they have, I'm sure that corporate isn't giving them the funds needed to do proper repairs. Will surely come back.

I would appreciate some wood signs discerning the junctions from one another. There are several social trails that will mislead you and could easily be fixed with a social trail sign or caution tape. I color coded the map attached to this review to show my route. I parked at the trailhead for the fitness trail. I walked the pink line to the museum and walked the yellow line back. Once I took a break, I did the green line. Due to poor planning I didn't realize the bike trail wasn't a loop and so I didn't intend to do two there and back hikes I'm not sure why it's not a loop as it could likely be connected from where it ends at the amphitheater to the 0.40 mile mark on the part of the bike trail headed straight to the museum... The visitor center/museum can be walked to from the bike trail. It's got information and artifacts from David Crockett's life and stuff. They also have several birds of prey outside that you can view anytime. The park rangers are very friendly and helpful when kids want to learn about the birds.

Highly recommend getting the combined museum and Loretta Lynn's (LL) house tour ticket. Our tour guide didn't seem very excited. My hubby thought she wasn't feeling well. But I could see how the right guide could take the tour to the next level. A replica of LLs old KY home is furnished with personal items, like her parents shoes. Very endearing. A replica of her tour bus is inside the museum, and you can walk through it. The actual bus is in the parking lot of the museum. The museum is quite the gem. So many beautiful gowns, and memorabilia from LL long career, as well as many other artists. Growing up, my dad would play guitar and sing Kaw-liga, so the wooden statues brought that happy memory up. Highly recommend!

I thought primitive camping would not have that. Sign on a tree that was covered by a bunch of leaves way down the other end did not even look like a Camp spot. No hot or even lukewarm water to shower in morning, so it was washed the face and leave. Tiny shower stalls no AC Did not even stay to do the tour. the place was filthy dirty all the way around. I understand that this is a four wheeler park at certain times of the year, but even the top of the trashcan in front of the store was disgusting. I would not recommend this place to no one. The only reason we get one stars because at least we could sleep and stop and feel a little safe where we were in the middle of nowhere land

On our road trip from Fort Worth, we were researching available places in this area and Little Tracks came up as having one night open!!! We lucked out!! We stayed in Red Fish cabin for the night. Once you reserve and pay for your stay, the owners text you the appropriate information to get in! They're so hospitable. When we walked inside our cabin from our long day of driving, we were greeted with a cozy and clean place! There is a hot shower, shampoo/conditioner, beauty mirror, towel hooks, towels and linens. The kitchen is complete with dinnerware and cutlery, a blender, coffee machine and fridge in case you want to cook any meals. We also spotted a fire pit in the front for making s'mores! If the temps gets too cold or hot outside, there is an ac unit to make your sleep more comfortable. There is a tv mounted in case you have time for watching anything, we didn't though. The trees were gorgeous, showing off their fall colors, and it was so quiet despite being right off I-40! It felt like a night at Grandma's house, safe and snuggly. We recommend staying!
