It's a little tricky to find their location, but we called and Billy directed me right to it. We were told we could choose a 7 mile or a 10 mile float, and we went all in on the 10 mile. Billy loaded us and the kayaks in his truck, brought us to the river, gave us an estimated time to get back (which was spot on, even calculating time for us to swim), and helped us put the kayaks in the river. His instructions for navigating the river were useful (fallen tree locations, landmarks to look for, etc). It's important to note that although there is a place for you to change out of your wet clothes after you've finished kayaking, there is not a restroom facility at Billy's, so you'll need to go to a nearby gas station (about 4 miles away) prior to or after your trip if you need it. The river was beautiful and we had a great time. Definitely would recommend.

We came to the Heath's Canoe Rental as a company function. About 20 of us piled in our cars and…read moredrove almost two hours to be greeted by a lady who just did not seem happy to have her job. She was rude and not very approachable. "I'm just an employee" and "I don't make the rules"....if I hear either of those phrases again, it will be too soon. So a couple things to tell ya... is $38 per canoe to rent and launch. It's also $38 to bring your own kayak/canoe and ask them to drop it in. EITHER WAY your boat or not, expect to spend $38. Suggestion, ask the person dropping you off for distance references. If you take the 6 mile trek, this is what you get... "you will pass two concrete bridges, the unloading spot is about 300 yards past the second bridge on your left." Now I don't know about you, but I am not the best at judging distance on a winding river. When you have to be back by a certain time (or else you will accrue HEFTY late fees) time management is an important thing. Knowing when a halfway point is located is helpful. (For the record, the first concrete bridge is just short of half way on the 6-mile trek) At this point, if we hadn't driven two hours to get there...we would have left and gone somewhere else. It was terrible...however we continued on. The condition of the river itself was spectacular. Rope swings and plenty of clean "sand" bars to kick back and relax on. I will have to say that if I had not canoed before, the first bend with the submerged log is pretty treacherous. We did have one girl and her husband capsize and nearly drown there. This part of the river REALLY needs to be marked or cleared if it is going to be continued as regular canoe path. Be weary of the motor boats past the halfway point on the river...some of them are very careless and reckless. This rental location I will say warranted a 1-star rating, UNTIL THE END. The crew at Heath's helped us dock, unload, take care of trash in our canoes, took pictures for us, and drove our tired butts with coolers back up the hill to our cars.

I've camped with them and kayaked and it's a great experience all around! Plenty of parking, then they shuttle you to the starting point of the river. Once they get your boat into the water you make your way back and it's just such a gorgeous way to spend a summer or fall day! Pack a lunch and paddle away! Staff is kind. Fellow canoe-ers and kayak-ers are fun to talk to along the way. I think my only complaint would be that many large groups go and sometimes just sit in the middle of the river in a clump and it can be difficult to get around them. That however, is not Foggy Bottoms fault. If you are looking to get outside and do something active I highly recommend you use FB. They are convenient and a great way to spend your day. Foggy Bottoms is a super cute spot with tons of charm and very friendly staff. We arrived to check in (no reservation) at 10:30am and the staff gave us a very honest warning that water levels were SUPER low. They explained the pain points of canoeing in such low water levels very thoroughly, but despite the warnings, we decided to give a go and I'm so glad we did! Because of the staffs transparency, we knew what to expect and we were prepared to encounter a few spots along the way that gave us a little trouble. All in all, it wasn't bad at all! We spent 6 hours on this 3 hour ride making tons of stops along the way to float in the inter tubes we brought along with us. Had such a great time and can't wait to come back!

Payment was made over the phone and the waiver was emailed with an online release form to sign for liability. We met at Jefferson Springs Recreational area which is a cute and clean park. There is ample parking and area to swim in the river / reservoir. The wanter looked brown and green but looked clean enough with many people swimming and tubing. The river is more like a lake so it is slow going and you have to paddle which is good because you can go in either direction. We went to the right down by the bridge and there are rock cliffs to see and an island you can paddle around. All in all it was good clean family fun. $35 per kayak and $50 for a two person kayak.

We spent about 3.5 hours on the water and had quick lunch break in the middle at the great park where the ramp is located that is set up with picnic tables, public restrooms and grills! The Stones River company kept in touch with us and were ready at the end of our rental to promptly collect the kayaks. We would highly recommend this company for your kayak rental needs!

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!…read more This was hands down the most disorganized kayak rental experience I've ever had. Our reservation was for 12:00 PM. We were running about 10 minutes behind, so we called ahead, let them know, and even paid before arriving. After getting there, we waited nearly 30 minutes for transportation to the drop-off point. The woman at the office was nice and apologized, so we brushed it off. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning. When we arrived at the river, everything fell apart. An older gentleman and two teenagers were unloading kayaks, but nobody gave any instructions or directed customers. We stood waiting for another 15+ minutes while they unloaded equipment and chatted. When we finally asked what was going on, they realized they didn't even have enough kayaks or paddles for our group. We were told more kayaks were "already on the way." Meanwhile, we watched other customers launch themselves because nobody was helping them get into the water. There was another group with a 12:30 reservation sitting there with kayaks available, but instead of getting us on the river, we continued waiting. At around 1:35 PM, I called the office and was told it would be another 30-45 minutes. By then we were beyond frustrated. A manager eventually got involved, but instead of apologizing, she seemed irritated that we were upset. After more waiting and more promises that kayaks were "almost there," transportation finally returned around 2:15 PM with additional kayaks. Remember, our reservation was for noon. We had already spent over two hours waiting. The best part of the day was actually being on the river. The river itself was enjoyable, and once we finally got in the water, we had a good time. Then came the ending. When we reached the take-out point, three teenagers were checking people in. One of them stopped another group and immediately started asking for names so he could charge them a $75 late fee. Their reservation had also been at noon, and they were delayed because of issues caused by the company, not because they were late. The teenager literally told them that wasn't his problem. Then they started trying to charge our group the same $75 late fee. Absolutely not. After multiple customers complained and the manager was called, they finally admitted we didn't owe anything. The entire situation could have been avoided with basic organization, communication, and customer service. We had 4 adults, 2 older kids, and 2 younger kids and spent nearly $400. For that kind of money, customers shouldn't spend over two hours waiting because a company failed to have enough kayaks available for scheduled reservations. The river was nice. The staff experience was terrible. I've floated many rivers over the years and can honestly say this was the worst-run kayak rental operation I've ever dealt with.

A replica of her tour bus is inside the museum, and you can walk through it. The actual bus is in the parking lot of the museum. The museum is quite the gem. So many beautiful gowns, and memorabilia from LL long career, as well as many other artists. Growing up, my dad would play guitar and sing Kaw-liga, so the wooden statues brought that happy memory up. Highly recommend!

I understand that this is a four wheeler park at certain times of the year, but even the top of the trashcan in front of the store was disgusting. I would not recommend this place to no one. The only reason we get one stars because at least we could sleep and stop and feel a little safe where we were in the middle of nowhere land
