No one offered them napkins, BUT I am an always be prepared kinda lady and had Charmin wet wipes in our tour pack. Ya never know! The BBQ, AMAZING! It always is. There is a campground/RV park in behind the bar and General Store. Very clean and well maintained. I've stayed there a couple of nights in the past. I've been told that on Tuesday's they have an amazing steak dinner. I've never been there for that, but I'm looking forward very much to trying it soon. The owner Mary was very accommodating to our family and always very warm and welcoming when we stopped in the store. All the campers were the same. We were tent camping but Mary let us set up in front of a rental camper so we could use the electric to charge to boat and she was even gave us access to the camper to use the restroom and wash our dishes. She ever notified us that a neighboring camper was putting their camper up for sale and was just what we were looking for. We are now considering buying the camper and having a place up there of our own.

Looked good and allegedly supports veterans and emergency personnel so we decided to give it a shot. For the record I am a Veteran. Upon arrival I realized that things were not as advertised as the campground had two Huge For Sale signs on the property. I pulled to the end and a nice lady told me they were expecting me and showed me a back in site. I was expecting a pull though but backing is not an issue. Instead of the nice sites we saw on the website it was a very tight back in spot but did have full hook ups so I went against my gut feeling and backed in. Our spot worked out ok but the other spot which we were told was under construction was just a load of gravel knocked down and not packed. The power plug was on a building about 40' behind the spot and the water had to come from the camper spot next door and used a splitter so they shared the hydrant. Their trailer sunk about two blocks deep just backing in. The website shows $35 per night so we expected $150 at most for both spots plus any Veterans discount. The owner appears to be down on his luck so we stayed. Shouldn't have. He charged us $300 and had the audacity to say it was a holiday and/or special event price. He stated there was a fishing tournament in town. It is Paris Landing area so my guess there is alway a tournament going on. If we were made aware of this before hand we would have stayed elsewhere. I gave him a chance to make things right but to this point Big Jim seems to not be a very straight shooter. Look at his pix posted and then review my Google earth pix below. There are now more sheds on this small piece of property. Apparently they are not plumbed as the tenants were making runs for the bathroom shed. The bathroom shed (literally) is where they wash their dishes and themselves. Don't be deceived by the website or Big Jim's smooth talking. Do Not Make the Same Mistake We Did as Big Jim will get to you. It's a shame as after we find a place we like and that takes care of us there is a huge group that camps together so could have been much more lucrative for Big Jim had he not messed us over. Truth matters and Honesty wins in the end.

We rented kayaks on Saturday and I was a bit worried about the crowds, but the entire process was quick and easy! We were a group of 4, but even the larger groups I noticed had no problem getting on the shuttle together and finding enough boats for their needs. Bath house near lakefront camping has bathrooms but no shower. The lake front camping spots are gravel and are going to be rough on your tarp/tent/airmattress/feet. Happy Hollow looks fantastic and I definitely would've loved to stay there. They have hook-ups, bathrooms, and showers. There is no longer a playground at happy hallow like it shows on the map and lists on the website. We went to Eva Beach recreation area and there is a playground there but it's about a 12 minute drive from the campgrounds. The recreation area had a sandy beach, but a foul smell and the water was very dirty. There are 2 large factories that make a humming noise that can be heard from the campgrounds and constantly seeing the large plumes of smoke from them on both sides of the lake ruins the nature side of things. The cabins were nice. Lakefront camping spots are not kid friendly - lake on one side and a road that people fly down on the other. I personally wouldn't recommend this park especially for families but if you have to stay here then stay at happy hollow.

They are on site everyday and keep the place well maintained. They are friendly, helpful and not rule crazy like some campgrounds - the only rule I heard was try not to park in the grass. My wife will cram herself in the RV shower to avoid public showers, but here she was happy to find nice clean restrooms with great shower facilities. Only downside is no sewer on sites but they come around and pump your tanks when needed, which given the availability of great public showers isn't needed more than one a week.
