We booked in March and they did not communicate that we would not have running water on our site and we booked a full hookup site! They said it was on the website in fine print. That is not helpful or obvious. There is also a utility of some sort on premises that has an extremely loud motor!! It goes on and off 24/7. We stayed there in 2021 and it was doing the same thing. We thought it would be fixed by now and that it surely was just a problem then.....but no....it is 2026 and still doing the same thing. Not a peaceful place unless you are staying far, away from that utility. They said it was a bad motor that needs to be fixed. Well, why don't they fix it? It has pretty views of the lake but we will not be staying there again until we make sure there's no loud utility and that we have FULL hookup.

We stayed at the recently renovated Holiday House, and it was fantastic! There were 5 adults and 1 toddler, and we had so much space, with the little one able to even have her own room. And a big enough space that no one woke her when she went to bed earlier than the rest of us! From the patio lighting to the fire pit, it was just such an inviting experience. And everyone was so kind and helpful. While we're from the area, we came into town for a wedding in Paducah, and even though it was a little bit of a drive, I would do it 100x over to get to stay at Holiday Hills. She got all of our info and told us which site we'd be in. We didn't have to give a credit card to hold the spot and when we got there, our reserve tag was on the site (site 15). She emailed me a site map so we'd know where to go. When she said it was right off the highway and behind the Marathon Station and Motel 6, I started to wonder. But she also said they were in a valley to where you couldn't hear highway noise. We finally got there and it was nice. Literally right off the highway. We took the first right after the Marathon Station and drove down into the campground (which is the only thing down the road). So truly, you could barely see the sign from the Marathon. From my window I can see the motel 6 at the top of the hill (and it looks like a nice one). It's a quaint little campground, only about 30 sites. The owners want to build a bath house and laundry facility. The roads are gravel but the sites are all concrete with a gravel approach pad. There is a dump station as well as firepits and picnic tables at most sites. But, I liked the fact that they are right next to the Livingston Trail system. The gate was closed but my dog and I could get thru/under it. Did I mention it was fall, so the leaves were beautiful. All in all this was a great little place to spend the night. It was quiet and felt very safe to us. If I had things to do in the area, I would definitely stay here for the value. We were in a 43 foot motor home with a tow vehicle and didn't have to unhook.

The Dam Motel was just built and it looked so cute from the outside so I had to check it out. It's just as adorable on the inside. We stayed in the suite and it is as big as an apartment. Full kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. Everything is completely renovated and the decor is beautiful. Let me also mention how clean the inside and outside of the motel was. Do not let the word "motel" fool you, this place is amazing. I highly recommend staying here for a weekend getaway or staycation.

The jumping Asian carp kept everyone entertained. The season for the sunset cruise ends in early September; however, there are cruises scheduled in October during the White Pelican Festival, which sounds like so much fun! Reelfoot Lake is a very unique and special place in the corner of north west Tennessee.

Check-in was efficient, and the staff was exceptionally helpful. Throughout our stay, we experienced no issues with the water supply, electrical, or sewage systems. Our pull-through site accommodated our 35-foot trailer without difficulty. While the Wi-Fi, as is common in RV parks, was not optimal for streaming, it was sufficient for basic phone and tablet use. The water had a noticeable chlorine taste, but our in-line filter and Brita pitcher resolved this. Paducah was conveniently located, offering a wider selection of stores and restaurants than anticipated. The campground offered various activities during our visit. Each morning, a vendor sold fresh baked goods, jams, and jellies, which we found to be very good. Mark Cope provided a BBQ wagon, and his BBQ and potato salad were also excellent. The park also hosted an ice cream social and a wine tasting by "Purple Toad Winery," a family-owned winery in Paducah, KY. There is a lake on-site where fishing is available, and bait is sold. We will certainly choose Fern Lake Campground for our next visit.

Bath house near lakefront camping has bathrooms but no shower. The lake front camping spots are gravel and are going to be rough on your tarp/tent/airmattress/feet. Happy Hollow looks fantastic and I definitely would've loved to stay there. They have hook-ups, bathrooms, and showers. There is no longer a playground at happy hallow like it shows on the map and lists on the website. We went to Eva Beach recreation area and there is a playground there but it's about a 12 minute drive from the campgrounds. The recreation area had a sandy beach, but a foul smell and the water was very dirty. There are 2 large factories that make a humming noise that can be heard from the campgrounds and constantly seeing the large plumes of smoke from them on both sides of the lake ruins the nature side of things. The cabins were nice. Lakefront camping spots are not kid friendly - lake on one side and a road that people fly down on the other. I personally wouldn't recommend this park especially for families but if you have to stay here then stay at happy hollow.

My family stayed in spot 40 in this campground and we had friends on spot 41 and right across the…read moredrive in spot 4. The back of site 40 and 41 overlook Lake Barkley. It was beautiful. The water is not accessible from the sites...we were told it is a 60' cliff into the water but we didn't venture close enough to the edge to confirm that. Site 4 felt safer (since we had kids in our group) as it didn't back up to the edge. All of our sites had a little deck near the camper pad but our deck was in a little disrepair (some rotten boards). The sites had electric and water and all had fire rings, too. On the way to the sites (once we were inside the park) the road seemed overgrown and I was wondering if we were heading to the right place. It's definitely tucked away but was a peaceful, mostly empty (maybe because of the raininess of the weekend), campsite. The bathhouse was nice. The showers were a little small but the water was nice and HOT! There was a bit of cobwebs but overall, they really weren't too bad! There is a an area outside each shower with a bench and hooks for towels and clothes. The playground had tape around it (maybe from Covid?) so we didn't use that. There was a dumpster near the bathrooms. Our kids went on some trails, but we didn't go with them, so I can't comment on the trails. On the way out of town, we went to the beach. There's so much potential there but I wasn't impressed at all. It was disappointing. The sand turns into somewhat stinky mud by the time you get to the water line and overall the place looked unkept - some broken picnic tables, overgrown grass, weeds popping all over the nice concrete padded area by the bathrooms. I thought there would be showers, but there is just one outdoor shower good enough for a quick rinse. The bathrooms/shower house at the beach smelled clean (someone even came to clean them while we were there) but overall it was just not nice. The beach just seemed like a place that, in its heyday, would have been so great. Since this review is more about the campsites than the beach, I am not taking the beach into too much consideration. The couple that stays at the site are very nice. They came and introduced themselves to us and gave us a map of the trails and the park. On our way out they have us a hearty wave and asked us to come back soon. The campground was a nice place to camp. We had a great weekend!
