Piney River Resort is a gem. We stayed in a tiny home and enjoyed it. Just outside of the tiny home is great fire pit and relaxing chairs. The view is a beautiful pond. The Piney River is really cool and in one section has these really neat rocks and really blue water. They have a convenient store if you need anything and they also sell food like pizza which was good. They also have a pool and splash pad. There were farm animals next door that were fun to feed carrots. The staff was really friendly and escorted us to our tiny home when we checked in. They gave us a tour of the place and made sure all of our questions were answered. read more

Sandwiched between farms on the Piney River this is a great campground. Easy check in. Campground store is great. Thecpizza at the camp store is fantastic. Upon arrival we found a issue with our camper and the staff help us fix it . Bath houses were clean and convenient. There is River access, a dog park and pickle ball court. Our site was a concrete pad with plenty of room. We will definitely stay here again. read more

Only stayed one night. I had no negative issues. It was quiet and the shower and laundry room were nice.

What a beautiful Park. We stayed 4 nights with our three kiddos and brought our pup. You can drive in from two directions and both ways offer beautiful back road views. The Park is extremely clean and maintained. For a large Park it surprisingly feels spacious. You dont feel like your on top of your neighbor's. The staff are super nice and very helpful! The camp store is great and had everything you'd ever want. We came during winter so we did not get to use the pool but the area looked nice and well maintained. We stayed right on the river, highly recommend. Site was clean and the pad was spot on level. We will definitely be back one summer so the kids and can play in the river. read more

I want to give this resort 5 stars, but I am giving it a 4 star due to the resort charging us $10 per person for our 2 friends that lived nearby to come to our campsite just to have dinner with us. I could understand if they came all day and used amenities, but we are talking about a few hours sitting inside/outside our camper. We never left our camper. This is a frivolous charge, and I questioned it but was told "that's just our policy". Now for the part that is 5 stars... the resort is beautiful and clean. The pool and bath house were amazing. They have the cutest little store where you can just about get anything you need. They also have a small restaurant where you can buy pizza, wings, etc. They even have a dog park. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. We will definitely visit again. read more

Need to update your directions to get to your location. Inform big rigs to follow their gps. The other route isn't good for the tops of our big rigs. Second we lost power in the heat of the day. Could not run our air conditioners and cook our dinner at the same time. That lasted more than a few hours. Great location. Hard to get to.and you said our space was a pull thru and it was not. We are a big rig and it was a major challenge to get out of there when we left, Would we come back no. But thank you for the great fireworks . read more

We were excited to stay here. We had a spot down by the river, and it seems everyone there had basically moved into those spots already. The neighbors were spilling over into our area with multiple dogs outside not leashed, kids running around screaming through our RV spot, and people fishing just right out in front. There seemed to be no space that was able to be quietly enjoyed. THEN the neighbors across the river start blasting music to combat the screaming kids. I do not mind kids, what I mind are parents who use places like this to let them run wild. I was walking my dog far far away from where everyone was playing, and a girl trying to hide, ran right behind me and scared the absolute crap out of me and my dog. Up high everyone is packed in like sardines. Down low, everyone walks through everyone's site and brings their entire home with them to splay out all over the place. Not our gig. Won't be back. Oh and the power went down for the whole park, didn't stick around to see if and when it came back on. read more

The actual resort is wonderful and we especially have enjoyed the river front location. The sound of the water flowing by us is very relaxing after a long day on the road. The staff were warm and welcoming and quite informative. The route to get here was extensive (15 miles off of I-40)...not the best road conditions in a 35 ft RV...narrow winding roads that took approximately 30" from the Interstate. read more

First time here. About an hour drive West of Nashville. Resort was clean and well maintained. We arrived after the office closed and a welcome packet with directions to our site (68) was waiting for us outside the office door. Staff communicated with us via text prior to arrival and their responses were prompt. Staff provided direction in their texts which contradicted the GPS directions. I recommend following the staff directions as the route is easier when towing a trailer (fewer sharp turns, etc..). The real attraction here is the Piney River. The river is shallow, and the riverbed is comprised of rocks. Wear aqua shoes if you have sensitive feet. Also, bring a tube or other flotation device. If you have a beach chair, you can sit right in the river and cool off. I would definitely recommend this resort and we will be back. I only have one complaint. We were not notified that they were adding on to the resort prior to booking the site. There was construction every weekday. The construction was 1 site away and also directly behind us. We were awakened by skid steers and shoveling one day at 6:00 a.m. Other days they started at 7:00 a.m. (the end of "quiet time"). One morning at 7:45 a.m., a worker began cutting rebar with a cutoff saw about 100' from our site. We understand that construction is necessary to improve/expand the resort, but we would have selected a different site had we known. Again, construction aside, I recommend this resort. read more

Stop. Everything. Come here! What a treat! First, the owners and staff couldn't be more helpful and on top of, well everything! Second, they thought of everything that a guest might want. We rented a Tiny House and my very tall family of 4 did just great! They made the most of every inch. Down by the River the water was refreshing and peaceful. Can't wait for them to add the future laundry facilities and pool! I would go back in a heart beat! Thank you for sharing your slice of the Piney River with the rest of the world. Bring your River shoes and chairs you can sit in the water with, it will make all the difference. One tiny idea; they could add in the closet some River towels.... I felt bad bringing the beautiful white towels down to the River, so we didn't. You will not be sorry, and you will wish you stayed one day longer! read more

I'm not sure what I'm missing but read everyone's 5 star reviews of this place so we chose to spend Christmas here. We do love our site with a pavilion overlooking the river. However, there are zero amenities. No laundry, bathhouse. Wifi is spotty. Not sure what the resort part is referring to. The drive here was sketchy. It's definitely in the middle of nowhere. An hour away from Nashville. Closest Walmart/grocery is 30 mins away in Dickson. So not a great location if you're looking to be close to some fun things. I'm sure in the summer the appeal here is swimming in the river. read more

This is one of the best RV sites I ever had, the grotto on the river with patio, bush,flowers, table and steps to the river. That said, the office welcome could not have been better. We did not realize how much 'country road' it took to get to campground, and were very tired from a long drive. However the welcome, and change to a pull through premiums site upgrade, made the day worth it and wonderful. We sat in chairs w/ feet in the river; met nice camp neighbors. Showers/restrooms VERY clean and nice; My wife is particular and really felt good about the facilities. I've paid much more for less quality, highly recommend a visit, but go for several days to make it worthwhile as the last 10 miles is not too fast; It is a great place to visit, even non river front has nice view and is peacefull.! read more

It's has great potential, but lacks the resort feel. Everyone says site #5 is the "site to have"....well let me tell you that I would never in a million years get that site again. "Unplug, Escape, Make Memories" is the campground motto...we made memories. That's about it. You can not "escape" anything, especially every one who decides to walk through or around site 5. The river access is basically at site 5. It's between sites 5 and 6. This is one of two access points. It could easily be put on the other end of the river sites, near site 1, but nope, right smack dab in the middle of it all. People parked ON our site, walked ON our site. It was not peaceful at all. Except when it rained. Then we got a little bit of aloneness. I knew when we pulled in on a Sunday, and there was a party atmosphere already at the site. We had to make people move off of it, so we could park. I'm talking trucks and floats and tons of people. The gentleman who owns the place was SUPER NICE. We were hit by lightning and it knocked out the ground at our site. Our camper was pulling electricity, so we let him know and he had it fixed asap. I mean like having to add a whole new ground line by digging up the ground. Not an issue at all. They were fast and courteous. The worker he sent over was exceptionally sweet also. Plusses were that it is very secluded. Like driving on a dirt road to get there, secluded. The river is fun to play in. We saw a ton of fish, and even the occasional snake. Oh and a raccoon came up our steps to see if we dropped any food. He turned back when he and I startled each other. Ha. The owner drives you to your site, makes surebyou are settled in and all. I love that. Makes it not so commercial. Gives you the welcomed feeling. Pavilions are great, convenient and different. We haven't seen anything like them before. They have lights and a picnic table and a fire pit. Not saying I wouldn't ever go back. I mean it has exceptional potential to be a great campground. We met some great neighbors and clicked with them so much that we plan to meet up with them next year. The campground gets 4 stars, the site gets 1 star. I'm a people person but it was just to much peopling for me while camping. read more

Pros.. beautiful back in the private woods. Small river that you can go in. Nice big lots with amazing green grass. Nice man we dealt with. No check out time. Laid back and can enjoy the day and going to church without having to rush back. Meets you to help you set up. Answers questions and helpful. If you call they usually answer quick. If you leave a message they call right back. 50 amp and pull ins. No drugs aloud and the my enforce that. Looks like many who stay extended or even live there. However the campers are all high class and kept up extremely well. Peaceful. No issues with noise or drunks. Cons... roads to get there are not good. Single lane and through the mountains. With a coach like we have I was a bit freaked. The turns and winds had me almost puking. I'm sensitive to that. Roads seriously need to be redone. Not great on mileage. Up and down. Up and down. Puke. Not much for kids to do accept enjoy Gods world. Which is wonderful. WE WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK. VERY NICE. read more

I usually do not leave reviews but on this occasion it was a must. We booked the FarmHouse Tiny home for my daughters birthday. The home was absolutely beautiful and clean. Upon our arrival we had a welcoming gift and note at our kitchen table. They had a full equipped kitchen, towels, body essential and even had some breakfast food in the pantry. The resort was so clean and well kept 5 stars is not enough for this place. Michael helped me with my reservations and made sure we had everything we needed in our stay. There was a beautiful creek you could swim and a cliff kids could jump of. We had an absolutely great time our family will be coming back for sure! read more

I'm with the other two star reviewer. Loved the pavilion and scenery, but drove four hours to stay somewhere that has no showerhouse and only portable outhouses. When I asked the office about it I was told the information about remodel was on the website. I sure didn't see it. All I saw was pictures of really nice bathroom facilities and showers. I feel scammed. Wasn't worth $150 for two nights. read more

I bought my first camper last month and so had no idea what to expect out of a campground, especially for my first time. I am SO glad I chose Piney River! The only problem is it will be hard to go to another campground because now I've been spoiled. It's so serene, quiet, and CLEAN. The bathhouse is so nice and updated. The staff is super helpful and accommodating. All the sites are nice with working electric and water etc. Also the wifi is AWESOME! That's important to me because I have to do work sometimes while I'm camping. We loved it so much we booked almost every weekend for the rest of the summer here. You won't regret it! What a gem! Piney River RV Resort in Bon Aqua, Tennessee is a wonderful park. We stayed in space 46. Easy in and easy out. The campsite had a full level concrete pad along with a new picnic table, cool fire pit and string lights illuminating the area. WiFi was the best of any park where we have stayed. Streamed AT&T TV with no buffering or slowdown. Our view was a pasture with grazing horses and deer. People were friendly and very helpful. The park has river access and it has campsites directly by the water. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is it. On a side note, they will send you directions. Follow them. Do not trust your GPS. read more

We have been staying here since September and it has been absolutely amazing! So many kids for our oldest to play with and such a beautiful area!! I'm not sure why anyone would put less than five stars. If they truly feel that way (over bathrooms and laundry), they obviously don't care or are unaware of the devastation and tragedy this area went through in August. A flood wiped out so much in this area. Homes, rigs, laundry, bathrooms, etc. This place is NOT a rip off and is full of amazing, hard working people who have been working HARD since August to help get things back up and running. Patience, folks. And then come back when everything is back up and running to see why so many of us love this place so much! There's a reason it's a rally site for Fulltime Families! read more

Beautiful campground and easy layout. We drove our 2016 Jayco Seneca (39') right into spot 1 on the river. We enjoyed the fire ring each night and loved walking along the water and our kids loved running in the field. We will be back for sure! read more
