Family members were flying in from all over the US to surprise my soon to be 80 year old father. Due to the government travel ban, we have been forced to cancel our reservation. I reached out to Jennifer at Highway 65 Vacation rentals about cancelling & her response is below. This is a most unfortunate situation, but everyone that I know that has had to cancel flights, car rentals & vacation rentals, whether it was through VRBO or Airbnb had no problems with their cancellations. I had explained that we are not choosing to cancel, we are restricted from doing so. There is no possible way to get all my family to rebook for another date & it also defeats the surprise party for my Dad. I am shocked that Highway 65 vacation rentals have no compassion about this situation. I know there are others out there that are having the same problems with this company & I urge you to write a review! People need to know that there are better options for rentals out there. The email you received from VRBO was a generic email about the COVID-19 that went out to anyone that booked through VRBO. This property has a no cancellation/refund policy. So we are rebooking all reservations that are affected with the COVID-19 travel ban at this time. So you will have a credit to rebook your dates we are not canceling any bookings with this property.
