Buckle up: This is a long review. I jumped at Music City Skydiving (MCS) 9 years ago, and it was 5/5! To my understanding, this business is under a different ownership as of 2021, and I believe there are still some kinks to be worked out. This review is of my recent experience in August of 2021. My husband and I were scheduled to arrive at 11am, and we did. After booking, you receive an email stating, "I UNDERSTAND the process is typically 2 to 4 hours from the time I arrive until I leave. It can take longer due to weather and other circumstances." So we were scheduled to jump somewhere between 11-3pm, but we did not jump until 6pm: that is 7 hours. MCS only had two tandem guides working that day for an unknown amount of customers. There was also a short rain -- maybe 15-20 minutes, and I am unsure of how much of a time delay that causes due to the fact that I am not a pilot. This is what would have made the entire experience better for us: -- Set expectations on the front end. In the confirmation email, go ahead and set the expectation that the customer will be there from 11 to sunset (or 9am to 5pm; aka ALL day), or maybe shorter if the day turns out perfectly. -- In the confirmation email, tell the customer to bring a book, game, lunch, snacks, drinks, etc. Give them a heads up that they will need to entertain themselves and feed themselves. -- Set expectations that a jump could be rescheduled if there are weather delays and/or staffing issues. -- OVER COMMUNICATE to the customers that are there on why things are taking so long. Humans are humans, weather is weather, and things go wrong. Let the customers know! I believe changing just this could result in all 5 star reviews. -- If it's looking like customers won't get to jump for the day, try to let them know as soon as possible, so their time isn't completely wasted. -- Keep the lobby tv's at a lower volume. I don't know what it's like to run a skydiving business, but my hope is that the owner and employees make strides for improvement. I believe that setting expectations and over communication could help leaps and bounds. Skydiving is a serious thing, and I am certain that SO much goes into just one hour at MSC. ANYWAY, I would advise you to bring lunch, bring snacks, bring drinks, bring books, headphones, games, etc. to entertain and fuel yourself if you are visiting MCS. The end experience was EPIC, and we felt safe, and the tandem guides were amazing. It was actually worth the 7 hour wait? :)

Such an amazing experience! Every single member of the staff was welcoming from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left. They definitely had a way to make you feel less nervous about jumping out of a perfectly good plane. My instructor, Mike, was amazing and made me want to jump again right away. So much laughter was had today. I can't wait to do it again!
Outstanding! No, really, Outstanding! I worked with Jason for the jump and Farrah for the video and they were friendly, very knowledgeable and really want you to have a great time. I will say the only drawback is the wait to go up, but you're trying to get airtime with alot of other jumpers. So be patient and these guys will make it a great time. This was a birthday gift and my first jump. I would definitely go back. Cheers to the entire staff for the professional attitude and willingness to make it as anxiety free as possible. read more

This place has a lot of great things going for it--friendly staff, fun atmosphere, and safe, knowledgeable systems. However, my jump was scheduled for 3pm (scheduled in advance), and it is now 7pm and nothing has happened yet other than other customers jumping ahead of me. I am looking forward to jumping, but am a bit frustrated at the 4+ hour delay. I was also told from multiple staff that the timing would not take this long, but I still have not jumped! I would highly recommend doing an earlier time slot so there is less chance of delay, or make sure you bring a book/computer/game to occupy yourself. If I come again (which I may), I will certainly be assuming long time delays! read more

When my grandchildren turn 18, I arrange for them to skydive. Yesterday #4 of 9 had his turn. While registering I had a wild notion, why not join him? I will be 82 years old in a few days and was looking for some excitement. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! The staff at Music City is extraordinary. Safety-focused and very personable. Looking forward to my next visit. Two young ladies are in the queue for their jump. I recommend MCS without reservation. We're going back for certain. Robert Belihar MD Brig. Gen. Phenomenal experience! I cannot express how great of a time I had here. My group came from out of town and had a 3pm appointment at the end of the day and we were still in and out within an hour and a half. Phenomenal staff, everyone was extremely welcoming and the Instructors were all so cool and just create such a fun environment and atmosphere to be a part of. I will be definitely back! read more

We had a great time skydiving but plan on a full day at the facility. We signed up for an 11am time slot and ended up jumping at 5pm. We were pretty ticked off about it, but we got to talking to the owner and I think things will get better as he continues to organize the business that he is building. I'd be excited to come back and have a new experience with them in 6 months or so. Zach and Patrick were AMAZING guides -- we felt very safe with them and they took any negative anxiety regarding the jump away! They were professional, friendly, and took good care of us. The wait was frustrating, but after we jumped, we all agreed it was 100% worth it. Super friendly staff and management! I appreciated the time they spent talking with us and hanging out. read more

All I can say is unprofessional. I was there the 28 August 2021. My group had an appointment scheduled for 12:00pm. We waited 7 hours to be told to rescheduled. We could not reschedule and asked for a refund. The male at the front window was agitated and angry about us not rescheduling. When I asked why I could not receive my online reservation fee he stood up and started started shouting at me like an animal and a fool. Stating that I had no right to question him and kept asking me to tell him my age like he had some seniority rights over me in the conversation. Then I asked him to lower his voice and talk to me like a human because I don't know what possessed that man. I honestly can not believe someone like that works there. He said he couldn't explain the nature of the fee however I signed the terms and agreement that "allegedly" says no refund for the online reservation fee. The other staff seemed very upbeat and happy so kudos to them for being good workers. Do not go unless you want your time wasted watching kids run around and looking at their messy hangar. If you are light tempered definitely do not go to this place. Luckily I'm someone who is very mellow and watching that clown huff and puff didn't phase me so good luck to y'all. read more

My wife surprised me for my 30th birthday by taking me skydiving at Music City Skydiving. It was my first time going and I can't speak highly enough about the experience and the crew. They took the time to make my wife and I comfortable with the entire process leading to a day we will never forget. If you're contemplating skydiving, I would highly recommend making the drive to be part of club and make sure to pay a couple extra bucks for the video. A very special shout out and thank you to; Taylor, Jeff and Caleb (and my wife) for making it the best birthday yet! read more

The actual skydive was amazing. The views were great and the jumping instructors, Zach and Patrick, were very friendly and helpful. However, everything leading up to the jump was unorganized and unprofessional. Our jump was scheduled for 11 am, and we were all aware that the website said the average wait time would be between 2-4 hours. When we arrived, we checked in and that process took about 20-25 minutes for our group to get checked in. The process could be streamlined by adding another person working the front desk. The woman behind the desk told us that we could wait inside on the couches or outside in the hangar and that the instructors would come find us. After about an hour and a half of sitting around with nothing happening, we went to the desk and just checked to make sure everything was okay. It was then that we realized that our names hadn't even been entered into the system to be put on a jump. The owner, Danny, put our names in and told us that we would have to split our group up and that we would be on a later flight, after 4 more groups went before us. By this point, we had been there for 2 hours and now he was telling us it would be at least 3 more hours before our jump. We were also confused because on their website, it clearly states (in the FAQ section) that their plane holds 14 people. Danny told us that the plane could only hold 6 people. If he knew that to be true, then they need to update the website so the customers have the full information and know what to expect when planning a trip. Our group was expecting to be able to dive together and then we were told we would have to all split up. After more time sitting around, they told us that one of the tandem instructors had an emergency and had to go home (which is understandable, things happen) but that would mean that our group had to be split up even more and one of us would have to go by themselves. We figured it out and we divided ourselves up, even though that was not the original plan. Another kink in the plan was that two of us had wanted the exterior video package but were told that they weren't able to get them and so they had to downgrade to the handheld video, which ended up being fine, but again, not the original plan. Additionally, they were not refunded for the difference in the two video packages. They originally paid for the exterior (standard) photo package, which costs $183. When they were downgraded to the handheld video (which costs $135) they were not given a refund. Two video packages means that there was a difference of $96 and instead of giving their money back, Danny offered one free t-shirt. So instead of getting back almost $100, they got a $20 shirt as consolation. Our first group eventually ended up jumping at around 4:00 pm, but our last person didn't get to jump until about 5:30 pm and so we finally left the facility at about 6:30 or so, meaning we had been there for 8 hours by the end of it. Overall, the actual skydive was great but all of the administration and organization needs to be improved greatly. Because of those reasons, I would recommend other places before recommending Music City Skydiving. read more

Fantastic experience! First time skydiving and I cannot say enough about the professionalism of the staff--you can completely tell they not only love to skydive, but love to get people to love the experience too. Went for our daughters' 18th birthday. They were totally patient and focused on fun and safety the whole time. I knew my kids were in the right hands the whole time. My brother and I wanted to do a once in a lifetime skydive during the 2017 eclipse. We choose Music City Skydiving and I couldn't be more please with our decision. I had emailed the facility in February asking if my fiancé and I could do an engagement session here in April as we'd jumped here before. Taylor had actually called back to respond to my message and said it'd be no problem at all. I thought, "Wow, that was so nice of him to call and to be so nice about it!" I had told him that my fiancé lives in Philadelphia and our photographer was a friend coming down from Chicago and that both would be flying in for this so if it was any problem at all, let me know. But like he'd said before, he said he sees nothing wrong with it and to just call him a week before to remind him and make sure I gave them a good review/recommended them to my friends. So my fiancé booked a ticket from Philly and my photographer friend from Chicago. I called Taylor again on the Monday of and he confirmed for Friday and said to just call again to confirm on Thursday. I had a family emergency Thursday and was unable to call but called Friday morning to confirm. When I called Taylor this time, however, he said he can't do 3:00pm anymore cuz he had to pick up his son last minute. That's fine; that's understandable; things happen. I asked when would be good for him and he said try tomorrow (Saturday) but I couldn't cuz I had to drive to Chicago Saturday to take care of my own family emergency. I asked if there was any time that would be good for him today (Friday) and he said he could get out there by 6:00pm. But when I said that was fine with me, he goes "Well to honest, I'm wondering why I'm even doing this cuz I'm not getting anything out of it. Its not like I'm charging you; what's in it for me?" It's true, what's in it for him? I guess what would have been in it for him is that I had every intention of giving him a nice, fat tip and a great review. But if that wasn't enough, which it's fine if its not, don't tell me there's absolutely no problem, have me fly my fiancé out, fly my photographer out, and then tell me last minute, that there's nothing in it for you. So here's that review you wanted. While it's not about the actual jumping experience, it sheds light into the customer service. And as a business owner myself, I believe that every service should first and foremost be judged on their customer service. Know who you're working with. read more

We were attempting to take a group of 10 skydiving on a Sunday. I spoke to Taylor on the phone and he was attempting to have our group jump earlier in the day on a Sunday but this did not work for us. He explained that after 12 noon there would be a 1-2 hour back-up so we should jump early. When I questioned him about this and said we may that we may need to rethink this, he was extremely rude and said that "skydiving is not a carnival." Obviously not, but I was simply asking for clarification. This person is a poor representation of the company, highly unprofessional, and I would certainly not want to give my business to them! Needless to say our group of 10 decided to take our business elsewhere. read more

My cousin and I went this past Saturday and were disappointed to find that many of their claims were blatant lies. The King Air touted all over their website, and capable of actually taking skydivers to 14,000 ft in a matter of minutes, is not in use because the ownership changed two months ago. Instead, a single small Cessna 206 was being over-packed with 6 people plus a pilot at a time. This not only created huge delays because of the hot weather (we waited 5 1/2 hours), but meant our jump was at only 10,000 ft due to plane limitations. When I confronted the owner about how this drastically conflicts with the promises on his website, he gave me a very indifferent and condescending answer saying that I should have called and that on occasion they do have a bigger plane/helicopter/hot air balloon (his examples given). Coming from a family that used to own a skydiving business, I know he is referencing special events (boogies) or visits from unique aircraft, which is not common enough an occurrence to make the claims on his website valid. Given it has been two months and he has not updated the wording on his website to reflect these new limitations, it feels as though he is purposefully being deceptive since there are other groups that promise not only 14k altitudes and 4 hour max waits, but at fairly cheaper pricing. Furthermore, he seemed willing to risk the safety of his employees by asking the pilot if he could fit yet another group after us, even though it was only a half hour till dusk. While the tandem masters themselves are friendly and experienced, the willingness of the owner to take advantage of false advertising and to put his employees in less than ideal situations means I will not be returning and recommend others find more ethical groups to skydive with. read more

AWFUL!!! A group of us went skydiving here, and it was terrible! The staff was uneducated, and rude. We got there at 9:30m for a 10:00 flight, and upon our arrival, we were told that we wouldn't all get to go together, because "they didn't have enough gear". You run a skydiving operation, and advertise that you can accommodate large groups, but you don't have enough gear for 4 people?! Good thing we had an even number of people, so that no one would have to go alone! The first group of us took off well after 1:00 (remember we had a 10:00 appointment),so you would think the second group would be next...Not so much. My wife, and I took off at around 3:00. When my wife asked for the reason...The brilliant girl behind the desk replied "That's just the way it is." I guess she wasn't happy that her conversation about her hangover, and whatever she was looking at on the computer was more important. When we finally got to go...My instructor had no personality at all, so it made for an interesting plane ride. The actual skydiving experience was amazing, but when you book something like that you expect it to be amazing! I guess that's why the staff was unfriendly, uneducated, and unprofessional. We will absolutely skydive again, but I will be researching other places. When you spend that much money you deserve to have an awesome overall experience...This place does not provide that!! read more

This was truly one of THE most incredible experiences. My sister and I have been wanting to skydive for a couple of years now and after multiple reschedulings due to weather, we finally got to do it! We jumped with Jason and Zach. These guys are highly trained and experienced; they immediately put us at ease and made us feel comfortable and safe. Not to mention the AMAZING time we had flying through the air with them! Side note: Jason is former military (and jumped for them many times) and so is the owner, Danny - there may be others, but these were the guys we talked to. I've always said what would make me feel the most comfortable skydiving was if I could do it with someone who'd done it for the military. Well, here they are! Music City Skydiving is the whole package: experienced, professional, friendly staff who facilitate one of the coolest experiences you'll ever have. One more thing: It looks like most of the non-five-star reviews docked points because of time. It is explicitly stated in the forms you sign that the experience lasts 2-4 hours from your appointment time and that it could be longer due to weather and/or other circumstances. I sympathize with folks in that it's frustrating to wait for hours, but again, you're told to expect it. Thanks for everything, MCS! read more

Amazing! It was family event, 3 generations of women to skydive for the 1st time. We appreciated the thoughtfulness and care Danny has for jumpers. Music City Skydiving kept a close watch on weather and wind conditions to ensure everyone's safety. Mother nature and other issues prevented us from jumping the first 2 times we made the trip to Waverly. However, 3rd time was a charm. Each visit to this facility was great. The people who work here and the people who visit this area spread positivity, laughter, and only good vibes. I cannot stop telling people about how amazing this experience was and how much I appreciated those whose faces we will never forget. Grant was exactly the person I needed to calm my nerves and help me relax by using humor. Jason and Richie were with my mama and daughter. Cameron was the videographer. We will forever be thankful for each of these men. I hope this wasn't the only time we will see them. Skydiving gave me a feeling of peace I have never felt. I understand why there are some who make this their career or hobby. It was the scariest and most calming experience which sounds insane. Thankful to have chosen to stay at home in TN for the 1st time. Music City Skydiving 10/10! read more

I went skydiving at Music City Skydiving and it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life! From start to finish, the entire team made me feel safe, excited, and ready for the jump. A huge shoutout to Grant, who was not only professional but also kept me calm and laughing the whole way through. He explained everything clearly, made sure I was comfortable, and turned something that could have been terrifying into pure joy. The freefall was absolutely surreal -- the rush, the view, the feeling of letting go -- and once the parachute opened, it was nothing but peace and beauty floating back to earth. I'll never forget it! If you've ever thought about skydiving, stop thinking and just do it. Music City Skydiving is the place to go, and I can't recommend them (and Grant!) enough. read more

I went sky diving this past weekend with Music City Skydiving and had an amazing experience! Starting with the booking process, waiver & agreements being emailed to me and easy to fill out, to the check in processes, access of location, welcoming & knowledgeable staff, information regarding the jump and waiting area, you name it! The airplane, jump, gear, staff, hangar, building, was all in pristine shape! I brought my boyfriend for his birthday and we got upgraded to the deluxe video package which was such a treat! Everything was so organized and very well ran. I will most definitely recommend all friends, family, guests, etc.. to visit Music City Skydiving for all their skydiving needs. read more

Nothing more to say than Music City Skydiving is 100% awesome. Danny the owner is great, made signing up and understanding the photo packages/jump details easy. My tandem jumper was Zach - he has jumped a million times and although a hell of a funny guy, he was buttoned up on the things that really counted, most of all safety. The anticipation of jumping was the most frightening part - once we were airborn it was pure excitement. The freefall was incredible! If only it could have lasted longer - and the landing was a non-event, felt like we barely touched the ground. So bummed it's over, but I will be back. And btw I did it with my daughter, she loved it. My son is next... read more

Went skydiving with Music City Skydiving with my Dad, husband and sister and we had an absolute blast! It was a first time for all of us, and we all felt totally safe the whole time, and cannot wait to go back again! The environment there is very family friendly (I had my kids there and they enjoyed just watching). The hanger where you wait is very clean, there are comfortable couches and places for you to hang out and wait both inside and out, the staff was very friendly, and we had the utmost confidence that we were being well take care of. Not only would I suggest them to anyone, but I am already planning a group trip to go back with more of my friends! read more

Made a Tandem Jump with my wife here. We did a little research and read that between repacking the parachutes, fueling and gearing up the new tandems, making a skydive can turn into an all day affair with a lot of waiting around. We brought a computer to watch movies on but after filling out our paperwork and doing a brief training session, we were on the plane heading up by about within about an hour of our arrival. The staff and instructors were super friendly and the facilities are brand new. 10/10 would jump here again. read more

I had my first tandem jump at Music City Skydiving and it was amazing. My skydiver was experienced and professional. He explained everything to me and made me feel comfortable with what to expect. The experience itself was to incredible for words, I fully plan on doing it again. I highly recommend Mike & the other workers at Music City Skydiving. Thank you Mike for the rainbow, and the memory, you were awesome! read more

First time skydiving and definitely not the last. It was so amazing! The staff were super knowledgeable and very personable. The bathrooms, hangar, lounge and grounds in general were clean and very well maintained. The plane they used was very nice and I felt totally safe the whole time. It was well worth every penny I paid and I would certainly do it again with Music City Skydiving! read more
