Had a 5 hour layover and was looking for a place to sit and have dinner. My fiance decided on this place. We stood in line for approx 20-25 minutes before being seated. Lots of flights were delayed so it was pretty crowded. Service was quick. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and chicken wrap, both with fries. The alcoholic drink menu prices was OUTRAGEOUS so I chose to pass on that. The food came within a reasonable time frame and honestly it was surprisingly VERY GOOD! It didn't taste like I was eating at an airport. The pork was juicy with flavor and the wrap was fried and seasoned quite well. Although I do not prefer to spend my money on over priced airport food, this experience was well worth it.

Good service but typical airport food. Poor quality beef patty on my burger. Nicer place to sit and dine at Midway versus fast food but you pay for it. Prices are high.

Great spot I. The airport to sit down relax and get some good food and drinks. Table space is a little tight but manageable.

Chicago, Il. Not too bad for over priced airport food. The chicken Caesar was voluminous and ok. The chicken was the pre cooked kind that they get in huge bags. The surprise was the meatball appetizer served open faced on toast. It was actually very good. Probably not a great value at $18, but very typical at any airport, price wise. I think I had ice tea or something to drink but I can't remember a thing about it.

Can't gripe about the airport food but I wanted a sit down and this was the closest to my gate and was conveniently there next to the food court. Have to wait in line and the host takes me to the bar stool for breakfast. I can tell there was commotion in the hostess roles because everyone looks so stressed out and look gloomy. I get it's hard in the mornings. One of them got angry that the breakfast orders somehow got mixed up. Us clients didn't want to make a fuss because Sure we all have bad days. My host was nice and attentive and got my breakfast platter. Nothing too crazy. Just sausage and eggs with toast with water. Place is definitely clean and open space. It's decent and would be glad to come by for another round of breakfast

Food was terrible, service was poor. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and Caesar salad. The "Caesar" was served with wilting romaine lettuce. The burger was precooked and then microwaved right before being served. And to top it off the server went out of her way to be rude to me and the people around me. I would never go back here.

    Old Fashioned

I know airport prices are higher, but $29.04 for an Old Fashioned at Genes Bistro feels excessive. I didn't even request a specific bourbon -- just ordered an Old Fashioned. They've officially taken the top spot for the most expensive Old Fashioned I've ever had.

This was exactly the type of food you expect at an airport. We order a grilled chicken club and out came deli meat chicken on sourdough bread. The price for the meal wasn't great either. We had 2 beers and the deli sandwich and it came out to $55 not including tip. If you're traveling with just 1 then it's worth it if it's near your terminal. If you have time... shop around.

Truffle fries and single gin and tonic with new Amsterdam gin

Decent for an airport with quick service and decent drinks. I'll agree with the other reviews that it's pricey but on par with any other airport restaurant. A single gin and tonic was $15.99 for reference. We just opted to get truffle fries as we just wanted a snack, not a full meal. They were better than their appearance with a strong truffle flavor. I would've preferred if they were fried another minute or 2 but still pretty good, especially for airport. Our server was also super nice and quick, with no wait for a table.

Stopped by to eat before heading to the hotel. Service was fast, food was great and the drinks were perfect. Yes, this place is definitely pricy but what do you expect from a restaurant, in an airport nowadays.

Chicken club on sourdough. Comes with butter and light mayo. Crispy bacon.

Chicken club was so good. Cobb salad - popular & good. Offered as is or tossed. Delightful service.

Chicken buffalo could be more spicy. Romaine lettuce should be substituted, and a less thick bun. Overall was fair for airport fare.

Despite that I made my own lunch today I decided to splurge and give it a try. I've had Puerto Rican food before but it's usually up in the north side of Chicago and that in the south side especially by Midway airport. Anyways the rellanos de Papa was delicious and the feelings were b however the portion seem to be small that's why I'm glad I ordered too usually some of the Puerto Rican restaurants on north make their rellanos de Papa bigger. There bistec platter with fresh salad and Puerto Rican rice was delicious however their portions were small too. The bistec had a red sauce versus oily fried sauteed sauce with onion taste. They had a different take on it. I drank it with the traditional Malta India beverage like on picture. I finished it up with a cocoa flan. I would come back again it was actually up the par with the Puerto Rican restaurants up north it's just I'm surprised the portions are smaller and they didn't serve water. Thus 4 out of 5 stars. Service was pretty friendly and quick. Ambience had a more modern feel with the Puerto Rican Caribbean Spanish music in the background. This is my first time coming and yeah I would recommend if you are craving for Puerto Rican and you're at Midway airport now that I know where this is at
