While in Maui on my Honeymoon I went on a snorkel cruise with with this charter business. I found the crew helpful and fun. They took us to a great area to snorkel with lots of fish. I have been on others were there are few fish and the water is less then clear. We got to spend a great deal of time at the location and were then treated to a lunch while we cruised back to Lahaina. Besides the awesome crew the had on (woman & guy besides the captain) it was the most formal & well rounded sunset cruise ever! The crew itself was awesome and well informedn The captain takes you seaside next to the dolphins and even has a lower deck to see the under water life and coral reef! The food they serve is so deli she's and very filling, they have enough for round 3! And more! They have a full open bar with any type of drink you can imagine as well as ether upper deck, right in front railing and underwater lower deck to see all the sea life! They serve a variety of chicken, veggies, appetizers and Asian wraps to fill your Timmy's! they serve unlimited drinks and they don't gip on them, they are strong and well! The trip itself is beautiful and the captain definitely keeps you updated and full of knowledge! Took the Sunset Sail a few weeks ago. This was our 3rd time. We first took this cruise in 2010 and loved it so much, we did it again a few days later. The service was just as impeccable. Thanks, Linda and Andy! They constantly refill your drinks and provide great food....spring rolls, chicken teriyaki, chips and guacamole, taro rolls. Longboard is served as well as any drink that can be made with vodka or rum. Champagne is also available. The catamaran has plenty of seating options, including the 2 prime spots over the front of the hulls. There are plenty of options for great pictures as you sail up the northwest coast of Maui. Our experience with Gemini today was messed up and horrible. We booked a snorkel cruise through the Westin Kaanipali, paid and had a printed ticket. We arrived and checked in with Dave who told us we were not on his manifesto and that they were overbooked. He called his manager Rosemary who was unsympathetic and told us we did not get to board. I know mix ups happen but the way both Dave and Rosemary handled it was horrible, left an excited family standing there and not able to go on the journey. They could have asked for volunteers or some other approach but no, we were SOL. Next time we will book the Teralani. read more

Gemini Charters did a great job recently for my family on their daily trip to Honolua Bay in West Maui. Like all the other companies they depart from Kaanapali Beach. The very polite and engaging crew pointed out the turtles on the way and quietly and slowly maneuvered the boat next to a herd of spinner dolphins. The dolphins proceeded to leap and spin in the air for us. It was a wonderful sight! The snorkeling that day was tremendous, nice and clear, and we saw plenty of fish and a few turtles. The sail back to Kaanapali was superb with a stiff wind to our back initially and then we moved to a broad reach with the crew expertly executing a controlled jibe in order to not have to head into the wind on a tack (and save the wind at our faces and the hostility of such a move). The food was fantastic for lunch. Prepared by the Westin Hotel, they served barbequed chicken and Mahi Mahi along with some fried rice, crudite and cookies. read more

Today my husband and I went on the snorkel sail day cruise and it was wonderful! Your adventure begins by taking off your shoes and leaving them in a locked storage box along the shore. The catamaran pulls right up to the beach and you walk right on board the ship. The ride out to the reef is nice and relaxing. They offer you a selection of beverages (non-alcoholic on the way out and alcoholic on the way back) and light snacks. Once you get out there they give you directions on where to go and what to look out for. As part of the package they give you a hot lunch on the boat and it is a nice ride back. Bring a lot of sunscreen because it is a good time to get some color. Overall a great trip and I would go back again! read more

Food - fabulous. Drinks - fabulous. Boat ride - fun. Snorkeling location - good. Staff - helpful and on top of things. The only things we didn't enjoy were the quality of the snorkel gear (it's worth it to bring your own if you have it) and the long check in time wait. People take a while to wrangle, so we get it - but as people who like to show up on time and get going, there was quite a bit of "stand around" time. read more

Perfect way to end our trip in Maui. I booked very last minute, so i was sceptical as to why it had seats still available, but it was an awesome experience. Started with a one hour cruise, followed by about an hour and a half of great snorkel and a hot catered lunch. Open bar after you come out of the water and for the entire sail home. Only complaint was that the return trip felt like it took forever since it was sailed instead of using the motors. read more

An incredible experience whale watching and snorkeling with the sea turtles. The crew was very professional. We saw so many whales. Whale soup! They educated us on the history of whales in the area, as well as their mating and child rearing habits. We watched the whales playing and working to assume dominance over each other. I've had the opportunity to go on the Gemini snorkeling sail trip a number of times over the past few years on trips to Maui, and it's a trip I always look forward to doing again. We really enjoy the snorkel day trips. Since I've always gone in late December, it's whale season. About half of the times we've been fortunate enough to see some amazing whale mating rituals and spend at least 10-15 minutes or so watching them. The Gemini crew always does an amazing job-- giving plenty of information and history as requested, but never intrusive. They do a great lunch, and the open bar after snorkeling is fun. The trip is just the right length of time at 4 hours total. It's a trip I look forward to doing every few years! read more

My husband, two children (ages 5 and 7) and I had a wonderful trip to Honoloa Bay (past Kapalua) on the Gemini on Monday, August 22, 2011. The staff of 4 on the boat were awesome - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They even had prescription snorkeling eye gear for my son, and when my 5 year old daughter was tired of the gear on her face, they provided a great big kickboard with a see through glass for her to be able to float on top of the water and still see the fish. I would highly recommend this charter boat and definitely plan on coming back to them for another trip when we return to Maui. We saw dolphins, huge sea turtles and lots of fish snorkeling. My husband and I received a complimentary sunset cruise on the Gemini as reward for sitting through the Westin's 90-minute timeshare presentation. Unfortunately it was very windy the evening we went (damn trade winds!) and we even got sprinkled on while we were heading north. But that didn't stop the crew from making sure we had an AWESOME time. They kept the drinks coming and the laughter going.
