Simple good food and service. Great iced tea. We had the croissant sandwich and a club sandwich. Everything was yummy and it was nice to have free wifi. Quiet due to it being a holiday, but very pleasant. We will back on our next pass through Beatty. read more

We had been to Mel's the previous morning where we encountered the grumpiest woman I have ever met in a restaurant, who was bitching about other customers to other waitstaff and slammed the change into my hand when I paid for our meal. (our waitress was sweet and nice and apologetic but I left confused as to what I had possibly done to incur this other woman's anger). I love Beatty and will now ONLY go to Gema's for breakfast because it couldn't have been a more opposite experience. The people who work there were polite, seemed very happy to see us, and the food (and espresso drinks) were excellent. read more

Great little spot on the main drag in Beatty. They make real espresso drinks so you don't have to settle for gas station coffee. Food is great, with an authentic Mexican flare to a lot of the dishes. Owner is a cool guy -- good conversationalist. Definitely worth a visit while in town. read more

We really wanted to like this place but it just wasn't good, at all. The server was on her phone or playing with a little baby. The veggie skillet was nothing but mush. The eggs, bacon and ham were also undercooked. I don't know where you can get a decent breakfast in this town but this place and the Denny's down the road are both awful. read more

Enjoyed talking with a few of the family members, place was empty so we had a chance to talk and learn about them and their restaurant. I don't remember what we ate, it isn't important. I would feel comfortable saying that anything I order here will be good to excellent. Because it's a small family operation we were able to craft a vegetarian breakfast, the waiter was helpful in suggesting options and we got a wonderful breakfast. Gema's is a wonderful breakfast spot. Service is fast and pleasant. Food is fresh, hot, and delicious. The Super Scramble is my favorite. This is so much better than the chain restaurant in town - there is a homey feeling with paintings on the wall and kid's drawings. And they have espresso coffees too! read more

This place is terrible and WAY overpriced for the garbage they dish out. I called in for a pickup order today and it took them 40 MINUTES to make my order after they told me on the phone it would only be about 10 minutes. Now my order was just 4 cold turkey sandwiches and a nacho supreme, there is no way this should have taken longer than 10-15 minutes max. First lets get to the turkey sandwiches , they SUCKED BIG TIME, the croissant was old, stale and hard, the turkey was slimy and I am surprised I didn't get sick from the bite I took from it, the lettuce and tomato were just ordinary iceberg lettuce and tomato, nothing good or bad about those parts. The sides with the sandwiches were odd, you either got old runny cottage cheese or a fruit cup as your only two choices. Second is the so called nacho supreme, it should be called nacho inferior as they are the worst nachos I have ever tasted. They used store bought round nachos, cheese whiz instead of real cheese, for the chicken they used what looked like canned chicken that was shredded, they must have made this first because by the time the order was done the nacho chips were a limp soggy clumped up mess. I ended up throwing both of these piles of garbage into their parking lot dumpster. The owner, cooks and waitresses must be idiots to serve this crap and not expect a bad review. If I ran a restaurant I would be ashamed to put out this quality of food, I would only feel comfortable serving this slop to prisoners. There isn't a lot to pick from in Beatty, but the Subway or Denny's are tenfold better than this dive. read more

Stopped here on the drive back from Death Valley. It's a small, local mom and pop operation. The food is awesome! They have sandwiches, coffee, and serve breakfast all day. As a vegetarian it's always a challenge finding nutritious options when traveling the back roads of America. The veggie skillet hit the spot after a day of hiking and exploring. The staff and the owners are a shining example of hospitality. Also, there's free wi-fi, which considering that you're in the middle of nowhere is a huge plus. read more

we got a great skillett, waffles, and rye toast here. The capucchinos are tasty and come in very nice cups - and they have soy milk to substitute cow milk for lactose intolerance, which we found very convenient. We loved the place and will be back! read more

Best eggs benedict since Vancouver, excellent smoothies any time, Diabolo fajitas are killer spicy and delicious. Great coffee menu too. Burritos are enormous and well filled with fresh peppers. read more

My friend had the eggs benedict and was also divine.
