After spending forty years as a computer engineer, I thought I could change the keyboard in my own…read morelaptop. I ordered a new keyboard, looked at a youtube repair video, and realized that I was completely out of my depth. I took it to Wolfie who deftly disassembled the entire machine, discovered that I had the wrong keyboard, then built up a replacement with pieces from the old and new keyboards. This involved careful work on plastic pieces. The result has worked great now for a couple of weeks. I give Wolfie my highest recommendation.

It went well and I had my screen replaced in about an hour. This was on a foreign phone (Oppo Find N5, a fold phone not sold in the US) that 3 other shops declined to work on. Pricing was good also, so I give this repair service an AAA+++ rating.

I also appreciated his commitment to lifelong learning, being excited to work on a problem he hadn't seen before, which turned out to be a physically melted wire on the hard drive itself that was probably caused by a dust particle shorting it out. I don't think other computer repair places could have diagnosed and fixed my issue as quickly, and would have probably just given me the "you're better off just buying a new computer" line. For the amount of additional painstaking work of saving some of my files the total bill was very reasonable. My only regret that time was buying the additional RAM space he offered to put in while the computer was disassembled, which as far as I have noticed has only speeded up the boot up. If you already are pretty happy with your computer speed then save 60 bucks and skip this option. Two weeks later an internal cable gave out. Again he came to the fast and reasonable rescue and was able to improvise.

I appreciated that he helped us pick out a laptop that fit our needs and stay within our budget instead of just doing a bunch of repairs and charging us an arm and a leg to fix an outdated system. The cost to diagnose the computer in the first place was very reasonable and fair. We just got our new laptop today and I will for sure bring it to this shop if it ever needs servicing.

They make smart decisions in your favor, honor their commitments even when it takes thrice as long, and communicate far better than most computer jocks. Finding them has been an enormous relief. If you want to buy a new machine, pay what they ask. You will get fair value. I liked everything about them. Is it too bad they got out of the retail location? Sure, but these are the times. I'd rather have them as they are than anyone else with a storefront. I just hope they keep doing what they do.
