I am an independent contractor and was assigned a work order (WO) by Geeks through a third party I Gig platform to install two Clover POS systems, mobile devices and printer for a restaurant. The service call was scheduled for November 2, 2024. Unfortunately, my experience with Geeks was far from professional from the outset. The first red flag was the repeated rescheduling of the service time. I received three calls on the night before (Friday) to adjust the service time, which was unsettling. Despite this, I accepted the task, trusting the third party Gig vetting process for both clients and service providers. On November 2, 2024, I arrived at the site at the scheduled time of 12 PM, only to discover that the address provided was incomplete and the customer name was incorrect. The location was a shopping mall with multiple stores and suite numbers, but the address lacked a suite number. When I inquired about the business name provided, neither the security personnel nor anyone in the area recognized it. I attempted to contact Geeks' dispatch team using the check-in/check-out number provided, but no one answered for over an hour. I was placed on hold multiple times, and my messages via the Gig platform went unanswered. After spending more than 90 minutes onsite without a response, I decided to leave. It was then that I received a call from a Geeks dispatch agent named Marks. Marks acknowledged my messages and provided the correct suite number, though he informed me that the actual customer was FD Payments. I asked him to stay on the line while I verified the new address. Upon arrival, I found a restaurant, not FD Payments as indicated. After introducing myself, the restaurant owner confirmed the POS devices were for them but requested a reschedule due to their peak business hours on Saturdays. While Marks was still on the call, I coordinated with the restaurant owner to reschedule the installation for Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11 AM. Marks confirmed this new appointment with his team and released me from the site. He instructed me not to close the ticket as my time would still be compensated. I logged two hours onsite that day. On November 4, 2024, I returned to the site as scheduled and began the installation. While the hardware setup went smoothly, there were issues with the software installation. The customer initially could not access the email containing the login credentials for the Clover system. Once that was resolved, the menu failed to transfer from the old account to the new one. I reached out to Geeks' support team for technical assistance and requested contact information for FD Payments or Clover. They provided the number for FD Payments technical support, and after extensive troubleshooting with their team and Clover support, the issues were resolved. I completed the installation, and the manager validated the system setup. I then informed Geeks' dispatch team and checked out. Now, nearly three weeks later, I have yet to receive payment for this task. Despite their payment terms stipulating payment within seven days of work completion, Geeks has offered flimsy excuses, claiming they have been unable to reach the customer to confirm my time onsite for three weeks. Secondly they claim not to have any record of me been on site on 11/02/24 This experience has been incredibly frustrating, and I would caution others about working with Geeks unless improvements are made to their processes. The number on their website takes you to a call center in India, where I could hear people in the background answering phones for other companies. The person could not help, and just tries to reroute you to another area to schedule (why have to call this number in the first place, and I sat on hold before my call was even picked up). Then the person came back and said the scheduling team was busy and they would call me back when someone was free. I've already wasted twenty minutes and haven't even gotten to schedule a visit. I called to get a TV mounted on the wall and they scheduled my appointment and took the whole payment off my card and then the day of the appointment minutes before the time the technician was supposed to arrive they called me and said they couldn't find no one too come out . would give them a fat Zero if it was possible .. we are consultant and have had 2 of our successful dispatches under paid or excuses to not pay . we provide Field Engineering support . we are in the process of Escalating there refusal to pay our time and cleaning supplies and can air that we used while onsite after repairing a Printer we PM and lubricated and cleaned really good .. these folks are refusing to pay our $12 cost for 1 can Air and cleaning cloths as well as lubrication that we take with us . Then they refused to pay us our total time onsite . Highly recommend except it would be a lot easier to speak directly to the technician and I don't quite understand why there always has to be a "middle person" to go through. I would appreciate if their business policies change to allow direct communication to the technician who is fixing the problem. read more

BEWARE: Not a legitimate vendor Two years ago, I had a jammed printer, and contacted G on S. They took shifts for over a day, taking control of my computer, sorting through ALL of my files (I watched them). I told them that it was a physical jam, to no effect. Finally, at 3am, as they started another software fishing expedition, I shut them down. At 8am the next morning, a man named Thomas Farrell called, saying he was a G on S repairman, and would come to fix my machine. He came by, said that he had to fix it at his shop, and left me his invoice. After he left, I saw that his invoice was fake, I called G on S, who said they didn't know who he was. I notified the fraud division of my city's police, who started a file. I investigated, and found Farrell's repair shop in L.A. I notified my local police, who told me they weren't interested. I called Farrell, who admitted he had my printer, and would bring it back. He never did. Farrell got my printer (worth $600), G on S got my money (and access to all my files). I got ripped off and the local police would not lift a finger to arrest them. read more

Full Disclaimer: I worked for this company and quit after a month. I can't bring myself to take advantage of people. My moral-compass is not that skewed. Do NOT call them for service. There are other options. Plenty of other, CHEAPER, options. I don't think it was an accident or coincidence that their name closely resembles "Geek Squad". And seeing as how their customer-base is largely elderly persons who can't immediately tell the difference, this company's intent is clear. They overcharge for basic tasks. They pretend not to understand the customer's service request. And they charge the customer for a 2 hour job that really only takes 30 minutes. The markup is RIDICULOUS. (Believe me, the Technician gets NONE of that money.). There is absolutely no reason for a customer to pay a 200% markup on printer ink. It's unreasonable and predatory. And one last note... I caught these *SCAMMERS* trying to charge me multiple times without my authorization and luckily I contacted my back on time. Do not use Geeks on Site. I contacted them for service on my laptop in Houston and based on my experience, I believe this business is a scam and my advise to any potential customer is AVOID AVOID and AVOID them like the plague. First of all they began charging me multiple times in the following days instead of refunding me as they initially promised. I contacted my bank and they are currently being investigated for fraud. They promised I would not pay anything if I am not satisfied and I have been getting the runaround about their so called guaranteed refund. I attempted to get to get my laptop repaired by them and y laptop was not repaired. When I was inquiring about their service I informed them about special disclaimers regarding the type of laptop I have. they ignored it and assured me that I wouldn't have to pay anything if I am not satisfied and I have up to seven days to get refund if I am not satisfied. It turned out they wouldn't able to work on my laptop due to the disclaimer I notified them about and they still charged me hefty price. I only went to them because they were the only one who claimed they can work on it despite the disclaimer I told them about. Their service is also very expensive and I felt scammed. I called them on Thursday to notify them about my laptop not being repaired, they initially stated they would call me the next day. No one called me back so I called them on Friday evening. Then they said up to 48 hours and I would get a call on Monday. No body called me so I called on Monday and they postponed it and stated they are just working on my refund. But instead they continued to take unauthorized payment form my credit car and I reported this to my bank and they are being investigated for fraud. read more

I am writing this for my employee Their services were used one before, and everything was fine. Bought a service contract for close to $300. This entitled 24/7 service for a year. Was about to Skype into a news program for expert testimony. Search engine wouldn't work due to a computer update that didn't take. Called. I have a Mac, as the majority of people in the entertainment industry. This person was obviously reading a manual trying to figure out what to do. He couldn't figure it out, admitting that he didn't know Macs. Transferred to another individual (Steven.). Steven picked up his manual and made the computer worse. Was asked to call back tomorrow. Explained the computer was needed for work and there was a service contract purchased to be able to obtain 24/7 service. Was told you were transferred to me! He explained the person who knew Macs was not available. Explained again, the computer was required for work. Steven spoke to his 'supervisor' who said someone would call back in a half hour to fix the computer. The call, of course, never came. Was unable to Skype into the news program and my appearance was cancelled. read more

They keep their customers waiting on the phone for terribly long periods of time, endlessly passing customers from one department to another, forcing them to repeat the problem over and over. Beware this company. In order to schedule an appt, a rep will tell you he needs a credit card number in order to reserve your appt. I specifically asked if I would be charged in advance of the service, and I was told "No, it's just to reserve the appt time." This is a lie. I scheduled an appt with them for the following day, and then the day of, they called to cancel/reschedule the appt with someone other than myself. They also charged me for the service ... the service I had not received yet. Personally, I think this is bullshit. Professionally, I think it's fraudulent. In addition to charging me for the service that they did not provide, they don't send any confirmation emails about the appt or rescheduling the appt. I didn't even receive a receipt when they charged me for the non-service. When I called back and asked to speak with a manager, they had me on hold for over 15 mins, and when I did speak with the manager and voiced my concerns, he acknowledged the logic behind my concerns, but had intention to changing their ways. Used Geeks on Site for 4 years for tune-ups, etc. All good. This year got a new computer and had Geeks sent someone to transfer data. They warranted their work. Said it would take an hour. Sent an incompetent sub-contractor who took 2:40 to complete the transfer. The job wasn't completed to my satisfaction, yet Geeks will not honor the warrantee. I spent time being pushed from Carlos to Alex to Erwin to Ralph, without satisfaction. Only lip service from them. Very disappointing customer service for a long-time customer. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. They made me pay $300 upfront for a tech to come out. The tech's name was Jonathan, a white male who talked as if he knew what he was doing. He made us spend almost $200 on equipment for my computer. He installed the 1st bit of equipment to increase the computer speed, and it did absolutely nothing. Then he never came back to finish the rest of the install, and I still have the other equipment, and ghosted us. This is very unprofessional on Geeks on Site as well as their techs. Not only did they not fix my computer - the next morning I woke up to find ALL my files and information gone! LIke my entire computer was factory reset. Awful, awful experience, my advice is to take your business elsewhere. After experiencing light water damage to my computer, I knew that some parts were still functional as it booted, but wasn't quite sure. After shopping around and calling different businesses, I was sold on GeeksOnSite as they promised onsite testing of my parts and thorough analysis. That's not what happened. Tech came in, booted my computer ONCE, did a visual "ocular patdown", then told me in confidence that my computer was dead. Not only that, but attempting to boot he told me to plug in every single peripheral (and graphics card), hint: you aren't supposed to f***ing do that if you're trying to get a computer to boot. Oh, and the kicker, guess what I'm writing this review on? THE SUPPOSEDLY DEAD COMPUTER. $130 later, I'm with a perfectly functional computer that I fixed MYSELF and begging for a refund. They came at me with "re-allocating the 30 minutes", I barely received 10 minutes of service! Thankfully I kept pushing and the best they could do was refunding the $30 Service Fee. Not only was the service extremely frustrating to experience, the refunding process left me feeling unheard, unjustified, and diminished. This is now a call center based out of India. They were working on my computer today for what should have taken just a few moments, they said it would be a few hours and to go ahead with my day they would call me when finished. I left for about 10 minutes and came back to watch what the tech was doing and found him rooting around through bank statements, my photos, documents, and video folders which none of those folders had anything to do with a windows SmartScreen filter kept popping up every time I started my computer. They seemed to be looking for credit card information as well. Stay away from these people they are actively trying to steal information off of peoples computers. If I had not come back early they might have gotten away with it but I terminated the remote log in. This company was registered as a Medford OR based company and that they would drive to peoples homes but quickly transferred to what sounded like a call center office party in the background. I feel a tremendous obligation to warn everyone I know so that this doesn't happen to you or your loved ones. Most scams are coming out of India right now, it's been on the News and had I known this company was a India Call Center masquerading as a legitimate Oregon Business, which by the way the number and place I called was not called Geeks on site, I only found out their name after I had paid for the service. All are signed by a contractor of this company named David Smith who lists his phone number as 205-216-5088 and his address as 1525 Walnut Street, Jackson, MS 39211. The main business is located at 2525 Ponce de Leon, Floor 3, Coral Gables, FL 33134 and their phone number is 888-360-4335. Their contractor refuses to stop contacting me. They need to get in touch with their contractor and tell him to stop trying to bill people who aren't even their customers. Do not use Geeksonsite! I needed emergency repair on my Mac and they promised next day service with their technicians. They warned me that if I cancelled I would have to pay a $100 cancellation fee. However, they cancelled on me THREE TIMES with only 15 minutes left on the two hour arrival window, citing last minute illness, being lost, or no reason at all. I had asked if the Geeks are employees and I was assured that they were but clearly this is a national company with a fancy website that calls on local lists of hired guns when they have a customer from a certain area. TERRIBLE COMPANY. HP referred them to me after diagnosing an error code. They gave me Geeks on Site phone number. Geeks on Site scheduled a time to have a tech come out. I explain the problem, they tell me they can fix it for 230.00. I ask several times if there would be additional charges. I was re-assured several times that I would NOT incur more charges. Appointment schedule. Tech cancels the date 2 hours before. Appointment is rescheduled. Finally, tech shows up. I explain problem, he says he can't fix it, seems perplexed. Turns out he doesn't have the part and it's expensive and there's no way they can fix the printer. I am upset, talk to Geeks on Site and ask why they can't fix it and won't. I was promised a fixed printer and now they have wasted my time and money. I explain I would like something...some kind of working printer because of their terrible service. I'm told I'll get a call back later. I do EVENTUALLY get a call back.... and they explain to me that I am lying to them when I said that HP had referred me to them and that they would not be doing me any kind of favor....
