I'm a repeat customer with 1st Techs. Reason? One, they make house calls at very reasonable…read morerates. Two, they're certified to service Sony Vaios (as well as Dell, Toshiba, HP, all the major PC brands). Three, they're nice guys that show up when they say they will. 1st Techs has replaced both the hard drive and the cooling fan on my much-loved and well-traveled Sony Vaio laptop. Both times they were on time, competent, friendly, and urged me to test out the repair on my laptop before they left: boot it up, check the wireless, open apps, browse to the internet. (Side note: replacing a cooling fan on a Vaio SZ laptop basically involves taking the whole thing apart. Watching the tech dismantle my laptop and carefully lay its guts out on my dining room table was an eye-opening experience.) This is a HUGE improvement over sending my laptop to Sony for six weeks with a minimum charge just to have them look at it. Super plus: while I was testing my newly repaired laptop, the repair guy was on the phone trying to help a client find creative ways to track down a stolen laptop. That's a service mentality. Fixed a non-functioning MacBook Air in less than 3 hours for a very fair price…read more Wife spilled wine all over the MacBook keyboard and we quickly tried to clean it off and put it upside down. MacBook continued to function for a few hours, but eventually the screen, keyboard and trackpad failed to work. We still occasionally saw the apple logo on restart and heard the 'bong' when it started up. Plugged it into an external monitor and the remaining internals seemed OK. Brought it to Serviceware at 9am on a weekday, let them know the issues, and they gave me a couple scenarios and estimates. Nothing too surprising. They called me only a couple hours later to let me know they ran full diagnostics, repaired it, and it was ready to go. A little remaining liquid that they cleaned out and replaced the screen angle sensor. Overall, these guys diagnosed the problem, charged me a very reasonable rate for labor and parts, and fixed the problem in record time. Had I taken this problem directly to Apple, I'm fairly certain they would have said it was totaled and wanted me to purchase a new one instead. Very happy these guys are in business. Excellent service. I would happily use them again. Highly recommend.
