The owner refused to tow our car and made us get a private tow. After telling us the car was under warranty, the owner requested money from us stating that the issue wasn't what crapped out, and blamed the car breaking down on some other "problem". After reluctantly paying we got our car back. Fast forward a month later and the car completely breaks down a second time. The owner once again refused to pick up the car causing us to pay for another private tow. We were reluctant to return the car to them but the transmission should be under warranty right? WRONG! We get told the car has a "problem". The car has been in the shop for almost a month now with no progress or work being done. Every time you call they are unable to give updates and the answer is call back later and speak to the owner. Over and over again. Call back later and speak to the owner. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!! Car still has a "problem" but no one will tell you what the problem is. Workers are rude and nasty on the phone and hang up on you. Everyday it's another story, your cars not ready...call back tomorrow. To make matters worse they are REQUESTING MORE MONEY FROM US EVEN THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION IS UNDER THEIR WARRANTY. This business is trying to rip off the customers and has the worst customer service. We will never go back or recommend this business to anyone! STAY AWAY!!!! OR ELSE YOUR CAR MIGHT HAVE A "PROBLEM"!!!

I actually expected it to be ready at l the end of the day. Tony is always helpful and accommodating and Greg always does a great job at making sure that your car goes straight.

Hasib had ordered the wrong front tires for my car, which caused several dashboard errors. He had me come to Rice's Automotive (new shop he is now at) to resolve issues from my inspection. Hasib realized and admitted he had ordered front tires that are the wrong size for my car but he blames the mechanic (Ernie) for installing those wrong tires and he says it's Ernie's fault. He sent me to Hempstead Discount Tire (where Ernie is now at) and that Ernie will take care of the situation and fix it. I went there and Ernie said it's not his fault and it's Hasib's fault and that he (Ernie) will not be fixing the tires. Hasib said he feels bad and he will have his mechanic (Cruz) fix this situation Instead of providing the new tires I was owed and paid for, Cruz installed old, used tires from 2023. The proof was undeniable: one tire had a visible, pre-existing patch on it. This same patched tire went completely flat hours after I drove home I called Cruz immediately and he said to bring the car back and he'll take care of it. At this point, my trust was completely broken. A shop that passes off old, defective parts as a legitimate 'fix' is not a shop that operates with integrity and an excellent standard of service and I refused to waste any more time in receiving a bare minimum standard of service Their solution was minimal and dishonest I would not recommend this shop to anyone

As luck would have it, I made the right decision in choosing Southside. Not only did they go well above and beyond to help me, I now have a trusted mechanic and used car dealer! When I arrived, Azeem and I took the car for a test drive. I could immediately tell he was a good mechanic. My ex of 15yrs was a mechanic, so I learned a thing or two myself. After the test drive, he put the car on the lift and completed a thorough inspection. He took his time and checked all aspects. He even pulled the blue book report for me at no cost and told me the value it was selling for at auction. In the end a few small repairs were needed which thanks to his help, I was able to negotiate with the seller to repair. All of this for 60 bucks! Upon finalizing the deal with the seller, I learned he never titled the vehicle in his name. Because I was buying the car with a bank loan, I wouldn't be able to cut him a check since the title was still in the prior owner's name. I was disheartened :( I really wanted THIS car. Before leaving town, I stopped back to talk to Azeem and get his thoughts on the matter. Did he think it was sketchy? He helped me confirm the prior owner and was confident the car was legit. Since he is also a registered car dealer, he offered a solution that he could purchase the car and then sell it to me and complete the necessary title transfer paperwork. He carries insurance that would cover any unforeseen issue, but was confident it was fine. Problem solved! He would charge a $150 fee for the service which I felt was reasonable and would negotiate with the seller to help cover the cost. We made arrangements to meet the following Saturday. Azeem confirmed the repairs were made and he (and his uncle) were VERY patient with me and my other half as we were having second thoughts and concerns. We couldn't help our New Yorker skeptical minds from spinning and wondering why is this person helping us?! And for a measly $150?? We were still nervous despite thoroughly researching all parties involved prior. The next snafu was since it was Saturday, no DMV in the area was open. Azeem to the rescue again! He recommended a Private Service Bureau (https://dmv.ny.gov/more-info/private-service-bureaus) that could register and issue plates for me on the spot (Robert Pehnke (http://www.pehnke.com). Not sure why anyone would wait in line when these guys can do it for you in minutes for a mere $25. SOOOO WORTH IT! But, the DMV computer shut down by 2p and the seller had time constraints that prevented him from meeting us until 1p. We felt extremely pressured to make a decision in short time, but Azeem and his uncle helped talk us through it. They didn't add to the pressure and were fine with whatever decision we made. Ultimately, we decided to move forward. Azeem completed the paperwork in a jiff and let the DMV guy know I was on the way. I was able to get the registration and plates in a matter of minutes and we drove our new car home that afternoon! We received the title in the mail 2-3 weeks later and knew then the deal was 100% legit. We are so glad we took the leap of faith and can't thank Azeem and Southside enough! We LOVE our car which is absolutely perfect and have already taken it on several long road trips (one of which we had the aforementioned ex check it out to confirm it was a sweet deal and in excellent condition). As it turns out, there was no ulterior motivation other than Azeem being a kind and helpful person. He and his uncle really did us a solid and we are extremely grateful! I can't say this about other dealers I've encountered over the years and about very few mechanics, but I trust Azeem and WOULD SEND MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY to him WITHOUT HESITATION for mechanical assistance or help purchasing a used car. If you're looking for a specific vehicle they don't already have for sale, they'll check the auctions for you.

I had 2 leaks an oil leak and power steering he changed two hoses on power steering and changed some gaskets and put new oil bolt on oil tank. Also changed back break light passenger side and headlight bulb on drivers side. Left car because he wanted to clean engine so all leaks were gone. Told me any leaks bring it back but all leaks are fixed. That is a total lie sent him pictures he got my money even gave him good tips and now he avoids all my calls and texts.
