My experience with Gecko was excellent. I contacted them in the evening after finding my garage door unopenable due to a broken spring. They made my repair top priority and Greg Hathaway arrived as scheduled at 8:00 am the following morning. Greg evaluated the problem provided a thorough estimate and reviewed my options with me very thoroughly. I asked him how long the repair might take as I had to leave for another appointment in a couple of hours. He quickly arranged to have another repairman join him to complete the job in about an hour. Bad start to a morning when your garage door won't open but Geico Garage Doors came to the rescue. I called them and within an hour they were at the front door. I needed a cable replaced but I had a large dresser stored in the garage that was in the way. No problem! Greg was able to move it out of the way, fix the door and move the dresser back where it was! This company had a very quick response. I called them in the morning and they had a technician out later that afternoon. After I got a quote from another company that was ridiculous and completely overpriced I called Gecko and got a more reasonable quote. I probably spent about $200 more than waiting for Home Depot or Lowes to come out, but the service they provided seemed worth it. Well, this is the first time we've ever had to replace a garage door. I work in sales and have for over 35 years. It's tough when you need a quote and they're all over the board with manufacturers, models, install availability and of course price. I'm a very efficient shopper and once I research what I want, very specific in my questioning and expect a no-nonsense answer, simple right? Unfortunately, not for many companies. But Gecko did what I requested. I gave them the details of what I wanted. They gave me a quote and they beat their estimated install date. Other companies responded initially, but then vanished or quoted higher prices or had lead dates way out. Initially, I dealt with the tech, Jake, to give me information and get measurements, which he brought back to the office. The quote arrived quickly. He was a personable guy and never tried to sell me on anything. He GAVE me an education on all the specs of doors and what we might consider. Then guess what... I dealt with the owners thereafter. They were no-nonsense business people, like I am. I respected that. Btw, even the receptionist was very pleasant and seemed to always be in a good mood. Bottom line is...need a garage door? Our 1999 Genie garage door opener was beginning to growl and the screw/worm drive that was wearing out was beginning to drip grease. Almost a year ago we had it all serviced and the tech who came out advised us it was going to go sometime soon. Rather than be trapped in our home when it would fail, we decided to get it replaced before it became a 9-1-1 emergency. I happened to call them about 8:30 AM and they had a tech to me for a 2-4 PM appointment time frame. Dwight arrived at about 2:15 and advised it would be a 2-hour job. And it was!!! Clean and neat; he removed the old Genie and put in the highly rated Lift Master (as a property claim adjuster for over 30 years, I knew the Lift Master name and reputation. This company from the moment I called was so amazing. I'm a single mom who lost her husband 4 years ago. 3 months after buying our home. 4 years ago my garage broke, as in caved in the middle panels when opened thus making my garage inoperable for 4 years!!! First contact was with Luke who quickly scheduled a same day appointment to check out the garage system in our new 35-year old home. Received text messaging that Greg was assigned as our technician and received a photo to verify. Greg arrived on-time, was professional, super nice, and provided exceptional customer service! He performed an overall inspection and made several recommendations to meet our budget. An elderly friend of mine was having a problem with her garage door. She called one of the big name garage door companies in the area and after an inspection, quoted her almost $2,000 to make the necessary repairs, which she simply could not afford.
