Hiring a contractor for a bathroom remodel project is something my wife and I were really hesitant…read moreabout, but needed to pull the trigger to update our 90's builder grade bathroom. I got a quote from a couple companies, but it just didn't feel right. Then, I reached out Travis and Daniel with Next Generation. Their professionalism from the start was miles ahead of the other two companies I called. They were on time, very friendly to my family, and it was obvious that they were very knowledgeable. This wasn't a simple remodel. Before, we had a tiny shower on the left, and a huge tub on the right which we never used. Travis explained that we could use both existing drains and create one huge master shower. Their pricing wasn't the cheapest, but also not the most expensive between the other quotes I received. The kicker is we got so much more with their proposal and design. It was a no brainer. Before the work started we got a detailed calendar of each process from demo, to final clean. I can't stress enough how detailed they were, and kept us in the loop the entire time. If the guys left for the day before we got home, we were always updated with pictures and even sometimes videos of what was accomplished! Everything was done by their in-house team, so I didn't have to worry about having random subcontractors at my house. This level of customer service is really a breath of fresh air. The end result speaks for itself. Not trying to brag on my new bathroom (I kinda am ). Look how the sides are mirror images of each other! I saw the guys take time to make sure the movement in the tile pattern all lined up! Needless to say, these guys are all professionals from Travis and Daniel the owners, to everyone else on their staff. Do yourself a favor. Stop rolling the dice on other random companies and call Next Generation. PS. I already have them on our calendar to return early January to paint the exterior of our house, and refinish our kitchen cabinets.

It was time to upgrade our gross 1980's shower and cheap vanity from the previous house flip. We turned to MOST Construction of Carlsbad for full design and remodel construction services and they did not disappoint! From the early scoping, contracting and through the design process, Pernille and Morten were very professional and understanding of our vision. The contracting process was very detailed to ensure all work was accounted for, and Pernille provided numerous design drawings for us to work with. Being our first bathroom remodel, we were unaware of the amount of planning and subcontractors that would be involved. Along the way, MOST provided recommendations for vendors with the experience to match our vision. Construction began with a minor hiccup when a small leak occurred in the subfloor below the shower, but this was due to an existing hole in our drain pipe. This was no fault to MOST construction, but Morten promptly mitigated this and repaired the minor drywall damage. Talk about great service! From thereon everything was a breeze! Their workers were courteous and showed up on time each day and kept the workspace as clean as possible. Their tile tradesman Sal is a true artisan! Following the framing and hotmop of the shower pan, Sal built a traditional mortar bed tile job with custom niches and gorgeous bordering. He took his time to make sure the end product was flawless, and I appreciate that level of skill. Pernille coordinated with the Countertop Company of San Marcos to have the vanity and shower dam slab cut and installed. We handled the glasswork (shower door, backlit mirror) ourselves with Cast Glass Images of San Marcos. Everything went smoothly with drywall, electrical and finish plumbing installation. In the end, MOST Construction was a pleasure to work with. They are a team of true professionals and they will be my go-to general contractor for quotes on my next major remodeling job!

Once our doors were ordered (through General Millworks), MOST scheduled their installation to coordinate with the door delivery. They worked very efficiently, completing the job in a couple of days (other companies told us the job could take up to 2 weeks!). They also kept the space very tidy and clean. We are thrilled with the way they turned out!

I researched contractors on Yelp and found one that I wanted to hire. I clicked the button to request a consultation and Carlos called me right away. He had good sales skills and offered to come to look at my bathroom remodel project the same day. It turns out that when I submitted a request for a consultation it went to many businesses, not only the one that I was interested in. I finally realized that this was a different business. I looked at William S' review and decided to give them a chance. The business started in January 2022, yet the review that I read stated that they had two bathrooms, a gigantic kitchen, a brand new ADU unit, and 7 televisions in the course of the 3 months since the contractors license was obtained. I later found out that William S is a Mendi Builders employee and that it is a fake review. But I took the bait. I was desperate to get the bathrooms working and planned to be out of town for a week. Despite the vague and expensive proposal Carlos created, I gave him money to begin our project because of his availability and promise to work while I was out of town. In retrospect this was such a bad idea. The very first day that the team came to demo the home they forgot to cap the water underneath the vanity. They left water dripping on a Friday night and had no plans to return until Monday. Fortunately, my son came home and heard the dripping and stopped the leak and bailed out the bathroom. From that day forward every single thing that they touched was a disaster. Broken Tile: I had some special tile installed by an old friend who is no longer working that I asked him to protect. He destroyed that tile and did not alert me or attempt to repair it, instead he tried to conceal it. Plumbing: He changed a plumbing valve and left a huge glob of some sort of wax inside the pipe which was only discovered by the plumber that I had to hire to redo all of Carlos' work. In addition, they were so sloppy that they punched a hole in the wall behind the shower and into my family room. Mess Containment: Construction is always messy and Carlos promised to use plastic sheeting to contain the mess when doing drywall work. Instead of protecting my home, his team took a huge fan out of my garage and blew the construction debris into my family room and garage. This bathroom contained an exterior wall and Mendi employees started installing the drywall without adding insulation to the wall. In addition the workers made no attempt whatsoever to clean up any of their messes and left debris on my roof, throughout my home and garage, and even threw their drink containers in my garden. Their employee drove over a retaining wall and left it down in my driveway. Safety: Mendi removed two toilets there was no attempt to seal off the septic system and the home reeked of sewage. Sewage gasses are not only disgusting, they are dangerous. Mendi switched out a bedroom fan and did not clean up any of the debris. They let a bowl full of screws fall 8 feet down onto the new flooring in my son's room, which he stepped on. They also turned off all circuit breakers in the home and failed to turn all of them back on, so when I returned from my trip there was only one functioning toilet in the home, but the bathroom had no electricity for two days. When I fired Mendi I incurred many expenses and it cost me thousands of dollars to repair the damage they caused. It is hard for me to believe that Mendi was able to obtain a contractor's license. The amateur staff was unsupervised and clearly did not follow best practices of the trade. This construction company is dishonest and does shoddy work with no concern for their work product or customers.protecting my home,

They remodeled my floors, demo'd some walls, did a full paint job, hardwired & installed new lighting, built new walls with custom shelving inside the walls, created arched doorways, installed wallpaper on the ceilings, built & tiled a custom desk, and so much more. See photos attached! They were easy to work with and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time, considering all the hurdles we had to jump. My landlord wouldn't let us demo the floors, so Carlos came up with a creative solution of laying new flooring on top of the old so we didn't have to demo. Every obstacle that came up, the guys were able to work around it and still do all the things I wanted to do with the space. Carlos made great suggestions along the way and I felt confident trusting his judgement and took his recommendations on which flooring would look best, or paint colors, materials etc etc. I highly recommend using Mendi Custom Builders if you need any remodeling work done. I am so grateful, Carlos and his team really brought my vision to life!

We were very pleased with Youngren and would recommend them for remodeling/construction projects, especially for those living in the local area of Fallbrook, Bonsall, Rainbow, Oceanside and Temecula. We found that having a local point of contact was extremely helpful, especially for a large time consuming project like ours. We conducted our remodeling effort in two phases with the first focusing on the kitchen, family room and living room and the second on the hallways, bathrooms and bedrooms. The bathrooms were completely remodeled/redesigned with plumbing changes and wall modifications. The flooring in the entire house was replaced with porcelain tile. New baseboards, window casings, closet doors, and windows were added. The Youngren team worked with us from beginning to end (design, permitting process, material selection, demolition, construction, final inspection) and proved to be very flexible when we requested changes as the worked progressed. One of the most positive aspects of Youngren is that they utilize very professional and reliable subcontractors who worked with us (and the Youngren Supervisor) to fine tune and adjust what we wanted. They included electricians, plumbers, countertop fabricators, drywall/finishers, painters, glaziers/shower glass installers, stucco contractors, cabinet makers and tile installers/setters. All were great. Always shop around, but definitely give Youngren Construction serious consideration for your remodeling project.

After over a week of no communication, I finally received a voicemail saying they wouldn't be doing the job and would just refer me out. I was clear about the scope of work from the beginning, and they agreed to it--only to back out after wasting my time and putting my household at risk. Even if they didn't know, every close interaction with another person is a potential threat to my life due to an extremely serious primary immunodeficiency. This is exactly why it's so important to be kind, respectful, and considerate with other people's time. You never know what someone is going through. I would absolutely NOT recommend!
