Exteriors West - ACRYLIC

Exteriors West

I don't usually do reviews of anything but restaurants or food but the service I received from…read moreExteriors West left me wanting to tell the world so here it goes. If you could describe Exteriors West with one word it would be "Outstanding" with a capital O. Dan, who is owner and installer, has got the installation down to a science. Dan arrived at my home around 8am to install a 16' X 20' aluminum patio cover which he flawlessly and meticulously installed by himself and completed around 6:00pm, Including cleanup. He has been doing this work for 25 years now and it shows! Do you remember the days of great customer service and honesty of business owners in the 50's? Well there are a few still out there and Dan is one of them. Maybe that is why the Better Business Bureau has given Exteriors West an A+. He completed the patio cover then proceeded to look over the cover with a fine tooth comb, wiping down the cover removing any finger prints or dirt he saw then he continued to look it over and painting any scratch or blemish with the factory touch up paint. Just this alone took about 45 minutes to an hour this is how meticulous Dan is and what kind of commitment he has to make everything perfect. When Dan started the job he put down sheets of cardboard and covered my deck with it to protect it. And at the end of the job he swept up his work debris and picked up the cardboard. He then blew off my deck with a leaf blower and picked up any stray garbage. My deck was left cleaner than when he got there. Then fit and finish of my cover is outstanding! From the planning, selection of materials and construction, Dan has been very patient and full of information and suggestions. If you need a patio cover, carport, RV cover, railings, window awnings, whether it be residential, commercial or industrial, Exteriors West is the company you want to go with. He said he does jobs all around Washington and told me he had just returned from a commercial job in Oregon. Sorry if this sound like a commercial but when I find a company that does an outstanding job all the way around, I have to tell someone. And today, you're that someone.

We couldn't be more thrilled with the results!…read more The first contractor we contacted actually referred us to Timberline due to the size and complexity of the job. I had some rough drawings I had made using free 3D drawing software (look at the photos to compare the concept drawings to the final result). I showed them my ideas in December, we discussed materials, components, and pricing throughout January, and signed a contract in late January. They prepared architectural drawings in February and the engineering in March. By April we were in Permitting with the city and broke ground in late May. They knew we were planning a big party for Mid August so they worked feverishly to get it all done in time. Tony was our project manager and was great with communication. Lucas was our construction lead and Matt his assistant, and they both were great to have on the job, and they kept us updated daily with what they were working on and what was coming next. I was also impressed with their choice of contractors for the gas, electric, masonry, and painting, all did high quality work and were very professional, courteous, and respectful of our home and our neighbors. Throughout the project Tony (Project Manager) had great ideas on how we could improve things, and they were always very responsive to our wishes, working very hard to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted. For as much of an ordeal as it can be to have people working at your house for four months, they made it as painless and as stress free as possible. There we no major issues or concerns, and even the minor stuff was typically cleared up in one email or phone call. I can't imagine having a better experience. And the final result is absolutely amazing! We are on the patio every day and throughout the weekends, watching football, cooking, and enjoying hosting friends and family. It's made such a huge impact on our quality of life. I only wish we had done this sooner. The scope of the work was a 16x30 covered patio, plus pavers along the front and side, and a separate paver and fire pit area. The patio has 4 skylights, a ceiling fan, 12 recessed can lights, four 4Kw heaters, a 36-inch gas fireplace, 36-inch Hestan grill and dual side burners, Bose speakers, and a 70-inch Skyvue outdoor TV. The counter tops are granite, and the kitchen, built-in seating, and fireplace are covered in natural stone. The seating is topped with natural blue stone and has built-in storage areas underneath. The flooring is Mbrico porcelain tile and it is amazing! We've already had things like grease and even a bit of paint spill on to it, but everything just wipes up effortlessly with a little shot of Formula 409 and a paper towel. It's expensive, but if you want zero maintenance flooring that will last a lifetime, this is the stuff to get. I can't speak highly enough of Timberline patio covers and their entire team. If you are looking for top quality work, you won't be disappointed.

But they also said it would be done in one day. It was not and no one notified me of this - I had to find out myself when I stopped by the evening before our real estate photos - I walked in expecting the painting complete as promised and instead all that had been done was the home had been taped off to paint, but no painting. I immediately called Eric pretty upset and left a lengthy voicemail. He claimed to have no idea it wasn't done and said the guy, Jerron I believe - couldn't get the sprayer to work - but let no one know, just left?! Wth. We had to meet them there at 6am the next morning and shuffle work schedules to be able to get it done in time... then when they were "done" they had completely left out a huge wall that was in the bid so had to do that by hand and literally left 5min before photographer pulled up. Not to mention the minor hole patching work they did was terrible - I could have done better myself. They did offer to redo that, but at this point we were out of time and had to get home on the market and can't have painting going on while potential buyers are trying to come through. There were some paint spots on walls that were not painted as well - nothing major, but not what I expect from a professional painter. Way too much stress and babysitting and offered zero financial compensation for the extra headaches that were completely their fault - despite admittedly overcharging us to begin with because of the season. Not impressed and wouldn't use again ever and would highly recommend looking elsewhere for a painter.

He used Thompson water seal on a covered deck that will never see water. It was put on so thick that we couldn't walk on it, with a greasy film that would end up in my house. Then 3 weeks later when he decides to come out he splatters this chemical on it. So you can totally see the splatter marks all over my decks. We just built our own house and dealt with many contractors. This one by far was the worst of all. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.
