Vegetarians excluded, who could resist the hedonistic delights of a juicy Argentinian steak? You can be sure that you are dealing with some real beef specialist when you are being presented a platter of delicious meet to choose from, ranging from the classic rump steaks to the tender, melt-in-the-mouth fillets. Gaucho Grill specializes in offering the best and finest quality ingredients Argentina has to offer. All of the steaks are grilled to perfection, but beware that they are more likely to under cook them rather than risk an over cook. Together with the steak you are given some delicious cheesy bread and can choose from a selection of fresh vegetable sides. I would recommend vegetarians to stay away from this meat-lovers restaurant, unless the sight of cow fur and leather covering the entire interior does not leave you shocked. The service here is extremely friendly and the staff is fully knowledgeable about the food they serve. This is a rather pricey restaurant, but perfect if you are feeling a bit low on protein and want to indulge in a mouthwatering steak.

    Nice table setting.

Upon arrival I was greeted and made to feel extremely welcome. I usually go to the Hampstead branch and always book a table in advance because they can get really busy. I did that again with this branch. So getting a table wasn't an issue. They came and placed the usual variety of breads on the table alongside the salt and pepper and bread dip. I can't complain. OK so let me start off with my cocktail. I got the smoked ginger which had a hint lemon to it and that gingery kick. I can only describe it as expensive ginger beer that tasted bloody awesome . My starter I can't remember what I had but I didn't like it.(useless I know!) My steak was ok I got rib-eye cut medium rare. They got the medium rare part just right. As a side I had the usual sweet potatos they did a little something that was different to the ones I had last time. I'm not complaining because what every they did worked. I couldn't breathe so unfortunately ended up having a 2 course meal and wobbled out of there looking and feeling like a pregnant woman. Oh I'd say you need minimum around £50pp.

Pricey Argentinian style steak. Tasty, but I have had better. The decor and ambience are nice touches, but I came for the steak.

I ordered The Highlander (Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Tio Pepe Sherry, Roots Diktarmo, Cherry & Vanilla) cocktail to enjoy while I waited for my meal. This was a very smooth drink. They were offering a complimentary Beef-Fat Washed Old Fashioned (Woodford Reserve Bourbon Old Fashioned with the bourbon infused with nuts and umami-packed beef fat) to Dads. Unfortunately the nut infusion precluded me from trying it. I had a complimentary Old Fashioned instead. It was just as good as The Highlander. My meal consisted of Beef Carpaccio and Steak Salad. The carpaccio was razor thin. Both dishes were delicious. I closed out the meal with the Chocolate Sorbet. This was one of the best meals I had in London on this trip. If you are on a schedule, make sure to let your server know in advance. Otherwise, their leisurely serving pace might stress you out.

The guy serving us had lost his voice so couldn't communicate with us other than whispering in our ear. We sat waiting for 40 minutes waiting for drinks and had to go and ask at the bar and alert the manager to get them. They'd obviously been sat at the bar for 30 mins so were just water. Despite alerting the manager to the poor service it got far worse. When the food finally arrived the order was wrong, missing items and steaks wrong. My daughters order was completely wrong so had to wait for it to be re-done and by the time it arrived our food was cold and items were still missing. One of the fillet steaks was totally inedible. Again we spoke to the manager who just kept saying he would sort things but made no intervention to make our experience less than awful. The items missing did eventually turn up with some hot but most cold and inedible. The whole experience was shockingly bad and we paid the bill just to get out of there. How you can get so much wrong is beyond me. You ruined our night, you ruined the birthday celebration, the manager just was not bothered. If you're charging those prices then up your game as McDonald's have better service than you. Truly awful

Everything was grilled right in front of me but the sandwich ended up being smaller than I expected, though the generous portion of chips made up for it. I would have been disappointed with the £10 sandwich though. Chips were excellent though I was annoyed that they didn't have any containers for sauce and instead squirted it right in the box, which made some of the chips soggy by the time I got back to my flat. The steak was a bit gamey honestly and didn't taste super high quality. I did quite like the bread the sandwich was on however. It was fine but I won't be adding it to my regular lunch list.

The steak is so juicy and tender, and they give you huge chunks at a reasonable price. Also, take advantage of their chimichurri sauce! I put a ridiculous amount of chimichurri on mine, and it tasted like heaven. This food stand probably has one of the longer waits, but I guarantee you that it's worth it! My mouth is watering as I'm typing this. Will definitely seek this place out again the next time I'm in London!

From the outside, and when you squint through the window, you won't see anything flash or pretentious (looking at you Gaucho), but just wooden furniture and staff in jeans and over-worn, over-washed baggy restaurant tshirts. It's when you get inside that the smell hits you. My co-eater noted, with some delight, that it even smelt like South America - the meat, the wine, the spices. Mouths were watering. Down to business - friendly, if not a little indifferent, service and rustic, simple décor. In the middle of the room is the huge grill on which the slabs of meat were being cooked. It was fun watching these guys move the meat around, clearly knowledgeable and skilled. The wine we were recommended, a Malbec of course, was damn good. When my food arrived, there was a wry smile on my face. Perhaps it was a boastful smile. The sizzling paradilla that was squeezed onto our table was a meat delight. 2 sausages, 1 black pudding, a slab of provolone and the stars of the show, a huuuuge sirloin and a juicy fillet. Shared between two, this was more than enough. We went for a side of salad to compliment. The meat was fantastic. Really, very good. And the sign of a good steak - the fat from the sirloin was melt-in-your-mouth juicy and tasty. Such a treat. As we were one of the last customers to finish, we witnessed the staff setting up for an end of shift dinner. Steaks, bread, salads and bottles of wine were assembled on the table and they promptly sat down to eat together to see the night out. Nice touch that.
