Just moved to the area. Wanted some food and decided to have take out. The first time I went it was good only thing was not enough sauce on the buffalo chicken sandwich. So I go again and it was seriously disgusting. They said 15 minutes and it took 50 minutes. There was black stuff everywhere not sure what it was. This was my first time to this location. I didn't realize how huge this place is! It doesn't look that big from the outside. Tons of seating! When we came, it was right after work and was practically empty. We all ordered different kinds of wings. Some of my co-workers got the all you can eat wings. I would have, but I don't think I could eat $12 worth of wings. lol I got 10 boneless wings instead. I was full afterwards and it cost less than $6. We also had shots of tequila after a rough day. Sometimes I forget that you have to spell everything out and asked for it chilled. Warm tequila is not the way to go. Price was ok at $4.50 a shot. If you're in the mood for wings, head here. I went for All You Can Eat Wings night (Monday). It's about $12. You select the flavor (they have about 15 or so) and how you want it prepared (grilled or fried/buffalo style). I was getting grilled in an effort to be slightly more healthy, and they were okay. There was almost no sauce on the grilled wings, and I would have liked them tossed in sauce instead of sauced pre-grill. Pre-grill saucing isn't bad, but I would have preferred a toss in the sauce before serving. To be fair, I didn't ask them to do this, so I will do so next time and see if they do it. The service was fine; I was worried because every Gators Dockside I have been to has had piss poor service. I went at about 6 pm and got there before the rush (this place really picks up closer to 8 pm on wing night). Overall, not a terrible experience, and if I go back for another wing night and ask them to resauce after grilling I'll update the review with feedback. read more

This spot is a great family oriented sports bar. I ordered the gator tail which was perfectly fried, light, and golden. Quick tip: add hot sauce to the honey-mustard sauce that comes with the dish. You won't be disappointed. I also had loaded fries that were pretty good, slightly better then Alehouse's loaded fries. Plus 10 wings - 5 Gator's Scooter Sauce and 5 Sweet Thai Chili, I didn't eat all this on my own I did have some help. The Sweet Thai Chili was good, but I wanted it to have some kick to it. Gator's Scooter Sauce also had great flavor but was also missing that spiciness. So if you don't like heat with your wings they are perfect. I was so excited to go to Gators since I hadn't eaten it in two years, but was very disappointed when I left. Service was terrible: our empty appetizer dishes left on the table, half's drank all the way down and our waitress kept disappearing. As well as she looked very annoyed to be there. If I'm paying for a service I expect for it to be at least a fake happiness. Not only was service the worst I've ever experience my wings were dry and cold and really just overall a terribly run establishment. Get nicer servers who are more attentive and care about their job!! As we walked out, I noticed about 5 tables with checks left on it and all of their dishes. GROSS. We love GDS in Gainesville- so naturally one would consider that how Good that one is, it would be a constant. Ahhhh No. Saturday night 8pm, empty; not overly significant (but near the Disney property). Our server turned out to be one of only two; so he made drinks, got food, bussed, everything short of cooking. Apps, main etc came at once; the Margarita was horrible and we finally got ice water at the end. They missed a wing order and the nachos were...I don't want to pile on. Stopped by for a quick lunch special with my family. The California Bacon Burger was juicayyyyy.. Very good. The Gator Tail was pretty good as well. This is my sixth visit in 2.5 years. The first wasn't that great but that was long ago. The service is above average as is the food. Maybe smaller portions but how much do we really need? Ok for kids. My 3 year old is happy just sitting at the video games in the game room. Today at 12:30 on Sunday the place is half full and filling. That's a good sign. Lastly they provide a military discount. Something that Buffalo Wild Wings doesn't. A great replacement for Bdubs Clermonts horrible service and food. read more

Totally wish I could put 4-5 stars because since I have moved to FL.. I've always come to gators for their wings, great wings and cheap beer. Unfortunately after a few too many beers we wanted nachos... bad bad bad bad bad idea. We didn't even order chicken nachos, just nachos.... my husband grabbed a bite of what he thought was extra cheesy come to find out his bite was RAW chicken, when we looked at the nachos after that there was raw chicken sprinkled everywhere like some type of condiment!!!! We had closed our tab after our less than stellar service.... the manager came by and offered us an appetizer for the next time we come back. 1.) RAW Chicken in nachos 2.) an appetizer after our table spent well over $200! 3.) raw chicken on nachos and they didn't seem too concerned. Worst place ever an hour after placing the order we are told one of orders is out of stock we ask why after an hour you finally realize they are out of stock. The waitress was extremely rude, wouldn't even take 1 minute to wait for a substitute order and says well I'll get the manager because she can better take your order and storms away like it is our fault that they have bad service. Went with my husband. We hadn't been there in a while and my husband wanted a burger that happened to have been taken off the menu a long time ago. The waitress, Kim, got the manager, Eddie, invloved. This manager tracked down a cook that had worked there when this burger was on menu and they figured it out together just for us. It was perfect. Visited this establishment while on my way down to Tampa a few months back. Was going for a scooba diving trip and was feeling in a seafood mood! I ordered the fried shrimp appetizer and was bewildered by what-else came with my meal! A waitress with an attitude, and possibly more! I don't know what was wrong with this waitress, but something about her turned me off! Big time! She slammed down my Shirley Temple- without a single cherry! We had a group of 20 (9 adults and 11 kids) eat here on a Thursday evening. The service was great and the staff was friendly. For appetizers, some of us had the gator bites...which were great. The wings were good too...though they are not quite as spicy as you would expect...so if you like spicy, go up a level from what you would normally order. The dinners were also good. The food portions were pretty large. The ribs were good, as was the shrimp dinner. The kids menu had a decent amount of choices and came with a drink and Popsicle for dessert...all for about $5. Great food! Never a let down! We've been to Gators too many times to count and each time the service has been great. We love Bingo night on Wednesdays but rarely get to make it anymore. A great chance to score free food and have fun! The food is always good. We usually order the Onion Petals for an appetizer and they have some nice cajun sauce for dipping! Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Monte Crisco, and a bowl of Chili for our entrees. I highly recommend all of the above with a side of their seaside fries(?) if they still have them. We eat at Gators Dockside quite frequently and have visited many other locations such as Gainesville, The Villages, & Dr. Philips. I'm only giving it a two stars because they do have good wings. I ordered the cob salad and it was gross. My lettuce was wilted and some of it was black. The avocado was brown and bitter. My daughter has to eat gluten free and we informed them of that. She ordered chicken and mixed vegetables with a salad. Stopped in for lunch, after it was recommended by a few of my wife's patients. Did not have any Coors light (who doesn't have Coors light?). That should've been a sign. Wife ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and fries, while I ordered the Honey Chicken sandwich and fries. When the food came out, grabbed a few fries and they tasted like microwave fries...ewww! One bite into the chicken sandwich, I sensed something was not right. Second bite confirmed it! The chicken was rubbery as rubbery could get! The chicken was either past it's use date or just bad. Wife's chicken wrap was no better. It looked and tasted as though the chicken bites were microwaved, as well. Needless to say. We both stopped eating and asked for the check. Soon after, a guy came out, who I would only assume to be a manager, could've been the owner, don't know as he never introduced himself. In lieu of the bad food, he paid for our beer. Whoopee! Never again. Went to one in Clermont last year and had a good experience so drove the extra 16 miles to this one. My husband is a foodie and said his philly tasted like dishwater and didn't finish it. They did take it off. My son ate his grilled cheese. I had a grilled chicken sandwich. Lots of fat no sauce. Didn't even finish half of it. Ordered fried pickles very soggy. Onion petals all soggy. My daughter is gluten free and did at least have the option for a gluten free bun. My mother in law had bone in wings she enjoyed and my mother and other son Alfredo they liked. I would NEVER go back. Waite greater than a hour for food for 7 people. Great Wings, though the "hot" sauce could be a bit hotter. My favorite sauce is the Scooter, which is a mix of Garlic and Hot Sauce. Makes the wings tasty. I prefer the grilled over naked or breaded. Get the fried pickles, one of the main reasons I come here, very good! read more

My husband and I have been going here for years. Now we have a daughter and she loves it too. Family friendly and the food is great. The service is on the better side of sports bars. I love that they have the choice of table booth or high top. The wings are great but the fried pickles are to die for.
