My entire family went to Gators last week- 11 of us, and they were able to seat us. Most everyone was satisfied with their dishes, I had the Mahi tacos. They were okay, but sadly nothing I can brag about. Gators is okay and seems to be a typical sports bar restaurant with lots of fried items on the menu. Nothing special in my eyes. My family members liked their dishes, and were satisfied. Maybe I will give it another shot in the future but I recall being there once before and also being underwhelmed then too. Pretty underwhelming overall. The cheese steak was pretty tiny for what you pay for , it had no peppers or mushrooms like the menu states. The nachos were kind of large but just alright. Our waitress was friendly but clearly stressed since we did not see many other waitresses working for a nearly full house. Management obviously sucks here. Do better. Not coming back. Located in a building across from Home depot, it's easy to drive past it and not realize its there. Face masks are not enforced for guests or their employees with the new CDC guidelines. The food was okay. There wasn't anything overly special about it. My husband got the fish sandwhich but had them use a piece of the cod from the "fish and chips." He said it was ok - fries had no seasoning at all. I got the backyard boss, which was the sausage with peppers and pub mustard on it. I liked the bread but wish the sausage would have been Andouille. The pub mustard also tasted like it was just whole grain Dijon mustard. I got broccoli as my side - no seasoning at all. It wasn't a memorable meal and probably not something we would venture to try again. read more

My daughter and I grabbed a quick bite at Gators Dockside this afternoon. Hannah C. (On my receipt) was our server. She was so sweet and great. They were busy and short staffed but everyone was nice. Customers were also kind to staff, which was nice to see. She recommended the Shrimp and Grits after I mentioned them. She said they have delicious shrimp, so although she had not had the shrimp and grits, she felt confident it would be great. So I ordered that, Bahama Mamma drink, my daughter got lemonade, bbq wings and fries. Everything was delicious. I mean super good. So good we ordered a ton of food to go for our family at home, and they sang the praises of their Pub Pretzel, fries, gyros, two different flavors of chicken wings (especially the Cajun Ranch). Never written a review before, but toning my family screamed and threatened to have the cops called on us. All because my mom had her service dog with her ( a 4-pound Yorkshire), never we have been so embarrassed by people looking at us with their employer screaming. That made my mom feel horrible. Gator's Dockside is a small, regional restaurant chain that is best known for their wings. It is also a bar and has a pretty full menu. This location is a fine addition to this brand. Whether you are coming here for dinner or just a few drinks, this is a decent place to head towards. I would recommend the wings here. Gator's grilled wings are simply the best wings in Orlando if not the state. The menu is excellent and the food is too. But, it seems the Gator's locations all seem poorly managed. We had a Gator's near us in Dr Phillips that closed. Not busy and poorly managed. We went to Gator's in Clermont. We arrived to a restaurant about 40% full. Dozens of places to sit. But, we had to wait because at least 6-7 booths/tables were covered in dishes. Service was okay. No list of beers to choose, so it turns into a Q&A for the servers. Food was phenomenal for a pub/wings/comfort food place. We left an hour later and all the tables/booths were still trashed. Not pleasant to sit by a large trashed table from a party of 10 for an hour. There was a lone busboy who came out as tables were needed. The manager should have been bussing tables or the 2 greeters. Servers just ignored the mess. Very laissez-faire attitude from staff. (Same with old location). Gator's is a fantastic Florida themed place. Been eating there for over 23 years. Just moved to the area a few months ago and have visited this location, seVeral times since move in. It's our family to go bc we all can order from here. It's no secret they're short staffed but the food is good and it's close to home. Tonight just hit different. It was trivia night and upon arrival the host gave us an est. wait time of 25-30 minutes. After using the restroom, I overheard the manager talking to the host and they chatted about the wait time being more like 45-1hr. I told the family about what I heard and they didn't seem to mind bc they were playing games. After waiting about 20 minutes, the manager eventually comes over and tells us about the new wait time and says she's being transparent in case we wanted to head out. Fast forward- another family walks in and ask for a table. They tell them the wait time, the family points out their "regular table" and get seated (Meanwhile, We stood around to watch) So before kindly walking away, I asked the manager to please explain to our children why that happened and Bridget stated, "well it's because they're regulars to trivia night." Their father decided we should leave and I agreed. After I walked out, I came back and patiently wait for the manager so she and I could chat. I advised her that favoritism should not exist because the man she just allowed to walk away just flew here from overseas on leave from deployment. This would have been his first meal with his family. So you sat a whole family bc they play trivia over the active duty soldier who fights for our country. Even if that wasn't a factor, in the last few months I have spent hundreds of dollars at this location, the host said she recognized us, apparently that counts for nothing at this location. This location needs to address their staffing issue. The few servers they do have always appear overworked and they're also probably underpaid. It's NOT their fault but the fault of upper management and ownership. Past few times we went this is apparent. The food quality has suffered as well. The quesadillas I was served were among the worst I've ever had were greasy and flavorless. The flatbread pizza my daughter ordered was terrible, and she rarely if ever complains about pizza. Their Tuesday night trivia host keeps us coming back, but it's becoming less and less worth the trip. Last week there was a sign on the door saying they were closed due to a "mechanical" issue..okay; sure ::eyeroll:: Five plus stars for the staff that work their butts off to keep this place going and the guy who hosts trivia night on Tuesdays. Gators is as always expected. I suppose consistency is a definite positive. On more of an upswing there is a game room for the kids, the drinks come fast and happy hour all day for the time. The food was middle of the road, but that doesn't make it bad. My wife loves the gator bites, the kids loved the wings and I enjoyed my club (though a bit more bacon and Mayo etc would add some heft). Got to watch a bit of current sports, kids played some games, restrooms were close for them and they provided plenty of wet wipes for the kids. Everyone left satisfied. What else does one want? After all, here within clermont there is really only one other kid friendly fun place (but the food isn't worth it...see other posts to try and guess). This was a humongous let down. i've been to gators dockside on US 19 in Springhill and this place was not it, where do I start. First of all server which name was heather was absolutely atrocious. Food took extremely long to come out when the restaurant was darn near empty except the bar. The wings were buttcheeks, my pops got lemon pepper and they were outrageously dry and unflattering, the seasoning was only on one side of the wing and we finally got to eat this lack luster meal after they came out 15 mins after the first two meals. Server had no class, she was rude and short and didn't pay no mind to our table. We were sitting waiting for jon taffer to walk in and flip this place upside down. Slap some since into this sloppy crew. Never going here again. it sucked. don't recommend. bad environment as well, not for kids too many drunk people. overall 2/10 read more

I know. A wing place is a wing place. But what I like about Gators and what sets them apart is the choice to get your wings grilled instead of deep fried. Somehow it makes the wings taste better. You can re-toss your wings or get a little extra sauce on the side usually at no extra charge. Monday's are all-you-can-eat nights and now you can even get them boneless on Monday's. The servers usually take two orders at once so you don't have to pause in between orders. Just keep eating away! That's nice and they are pretty friendly and I've always had attentive servers. This place has really gone downhill recently. This has been my normal place to eat for the last two years. I also would come several days after work for a drink. Has always been one of my favorite places. Recently, the staff have been getting more rude and less attentive. Today was the breaking point. I came with my two children and was promptly sat. Then for ten whole minutes not one person came to even greet us. Every server (there were two) would make eye contact with me and just walk away. Finally the hostess came by and took my drink order. After that, a server finally came by and gave me this whole story that she was told, "well they literally just told me I had this table." I found this to be an odd thing to say. Anyway, I ordered for the kids and their food came pretty quick. After that I placed my order and also asked for mustard. After five minutes, the hostess was walking and I called her over. I was fed up at this point and asked for my mustard and pointed out that it was allegedly difficult to do. She then decided to tell me off and yell about how they are short staff. I pointed out that she was being passive aggressive. Yes, perhaps I was rude at that moment, but this was after nearly 45 minutes of inattentiveness and rudeness from the staff there. I then asked for the manager and the manager came five minutes later. After that the manager decided to yell at me. At that point I just left. I managed a very high volume (way higher than this place) restaurant for years, and never would I dream of treating customers the way I was treated. Being inattentive. Complaining about your job to me. Yelling at me because I was rightfully fed up. This is probably the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant. As much as I love this place, I will never be going here again, and I will never be recommending this place to anybody ever again. I am truly disappointed. read more

The food is mediocre at best and the service is always slow. Haven't been back in months, but went once in 2018, a few times at the end of 2019 and once in the beginning of 2020. One time the food took forever to come out and when it did my friend's food came out wrong. I gotta be honest. I'm really not a fan of the food or the drinks here. It is the trivia that keeps me coming back. I used to play trivia at the Imperium Wine Room in Celebration where the food is far superior, but alas, my fiancé's days of have changed and we can no longer play trivia there on Sundays. This is the closest place that offers Thursday night trivia. I highly recommend calling ahead for Thursday night trivia because it gets crowded! Last week we had to sit at the bar as there were no more tables. If you are not going to play trivia, then I would avoid this place on a Thursday. Trivia host is great. Food is lackluster and cleanliness of restaurant, especially restrooms leaves something to be desired. The first time we came to play trivia we had fried pickles and gator taters, both of which were solid appetizers. We also had the deep fried oreos, which although not quite as good as the ones you might get at the fair or strawberry festival are pretty darn good. Unfortunately, they put a berry drizzle on them, that is terrible and really unnecessary. The second time we came for trivia I had the chicken quesadilla and my fiancé had tacos. His portion was small and food was bland. My portion was huge, but even more bland. This week he went for Cajun alfredo pasta and I ordered chicken tenders. The pasta was super boring. The sauce tasted very watered down. The tenders were more like fried zingers. They were really small tenders. The garlic parmesan sauce was pretty decent though. They do have some good drink specials, but I have found things like the house margarita to be quite blah. My family and I dined in at Gators last evening. We were 1 of 2 tables upon arrival at 8:50 pm when they stay open til midnight. The other table had finished up and left by the time we were seated. The server greeted us after 10 minutes of sitting down and took our drink order. She then proceeded to go to the back, come clean the previous dirty table, stand up at the host stand talking with fellow employees, was counting tips at the computer, and then went to the bar and started helping with a bar ticket. We hadn't received drinks for 15 minutes... and still no server. Another server, who was clearly off shift, walked by and asked if we had been helped. I let her know we technically were but it had been a long time and we were ready. She then let me know the bartender had an "issue" and they were short staffed so she may be helping with that. However, there were 5 different gentleman walking around who clearly worked there, 3 servers who were NOT the bartender, and we still sat there.... When we did get our drinks finally- we started to order and then we're told "due to short staffing" the flat top of the kitchen was closed and the only thing available was the fryer selections (which would have been nice to know prior to waiting 35 minutes to order anything.) My family of 5 quickly changed our minds and all got wings and fries. Our food took another AT LEAST 30-40 minutes to receive, and was brought out by a gentleman who worked there and stated "sorry about your guys wait for the food, I have no idea where your server went." The food was so over cooked and cold so who knows how long it sat in the heat window. A few minutes later I noticed the bartender with the "issue" literally came out of the kitchen smoking a cigarette or vape. I'm a bartender by trade as well and I've never been so appalled and disgusted. When I asked for our checks- it took another 10-15 minutes to get those. Went here for a quick dinner on Friday night. It wasn't too busy, but it was a holiday weekend. The hostess sat us on the side where the games are - it was quite loud. We weren't aware of games until we were seated, but it was OK. Just be aware that the left side of the restaurant can get a bit rowdy because of the games.
