Went here for a quick dinner on Friday night. It wasn't too busy, but it was a holiday weekend. The hostess sat us on the side where the games are - it was quite loud. We weren't aware of games until we were seated, but it was OK. Just be aware that the left side of the restaurant can get a bit rowdy because of the games. We shared the fried pickles, and chicken quesadilla. Then for dinner I had chicken wings, and the man had fried shrimp. Everything was good, not bad, but also not crazy spectacular. Absolutely terrible experience. We were the only table in the restaurant. We showed up at 8:50pm when they close at midnight. Was told the grill was closed could only order fried food. Ordered our boneless wings and took an hour to receive our food. Employees just hanging out around the restaurant doing nothing. Where was the manager? My family and I dined in at Gators last evening. We were 1 of 2 tables upon arrival at 8:50 pm when they stay open til midnight. The other table had finished up and left by the time we were seated. The server greeted us after 10 minutes of sitting down and took our drink order. She then proceeded to go to the back, come clean the previous dirty table, stand up at the host stand talking with fellow employees, was counting tips at the computer, and then went to the bar and started helping with a bar ticket. We hadn't received drinks for 15 minutes... and still no server. Another server, who was clearly off shift, walked by and asked if we had been helped. I let her know we technically were but it had been a long time and we were ready. She then let me know the bartender had an "issue" and they were short staffed so she may be helping with that. However, there were 5 different gentleman walking around who clearly worked there, 3 servers who were NOT the bartender, and we still sat there.... When we did get our drinks finally- we started to order and then we're told "due to short staffing" the flat top of the kitchen was closed and the only thing available was the fryer selections (which would have been nice to know prior to waiting 35 minutes to order anything.) My family of 5 quickly changed our minds and all got wings and fries. Our food took another AT LEAST 30-40 minutes to receive, and was brought out by a gentleman who worked there and stated "sorry about your guys wait for the food, I have no idea where your server went." The food was so over cooked and cold so who knows how long it sat in the heat window. A few minutes later I noticed the bartender with the "issue" literally came out of the kitchen smoking a cigarette or vape. I'm a bartender by trade as well and I've never been so appalled and disgusted. When I asked for our checks- it took another 10-15 minutes to get those. I would never recommend this place to anyone in Clermont and they would due themselves a favor if they hired a manager for the evening times clearly. read more

The food was pretty good but nothing great. I had wing dip which I was satisfied with. My husband had wings which were alright. We also ordered gator bites to start with and they were nothing to write home about. Heavily fried and greasy. There's literally no food presentation here. The place smells a little mildew-y and has green carpet that looks like it hasn't been changed out since the 80's. I'm also PRAYING that they keep their kitchen cleaner than their restrooms because it looked like those had been ignored for a few days. You'd think that with a place being called Gator Dockside that they would have good Gatortail but it was $10 for a tiny ramekin that wasn't even filled to the top. They say bite-size... maybe for the Geico lizard. The bottom was minuscule pieces of what seemed to be just batter. The few dime sized pieces tasted processed. We also ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wraps - skip those too. I've ordered a lot of lettuce wraps and I've never had them come out with just chicken and lettuce before. Nothing else. Unfortunately went here on a Tuesday night, and it was pretty dead inside. We were seated, and waited for a server for 15 minutes. We ordered everything at once because we'd waited so long, we ordered mozzarella sticks, boneless wings, fries, and bone in wings. The wings-both boneless and bone came out cold as if the wing sauce they'd been tossed in had been sitting in the fridge for an extended period of time. The fries were clearly the bottom of the basket, all small pieces, over fried, and stale. We waited for the server to come back, but she didn't come back for 15 minutes. I finally went to the manager to talk to her about the food, and she offered to remake the food or give us a dessert. At this point we were over the terrible service and the state of the food, and I requested to only be charged for the food that was eaten. The server took 10% off of the bill, which was not at all comparable to what we ate. I came to this location a few years ago and I didn't have this issue, just steer clear (or rather go to a different location) if you are looking for a good experience at a Gators. For sports bars this isn't my favorite place to go but it's close by and they do a great all you can eat wing special on Monday nights. The whole place is decked out in wood paneling with booths, tables and high tops. There is carpet in some areas but each time I've been here it looks like it hasn't been vacuumed in days. There are many TVs but they are not very large. I like that they will change the channels for you! The service is hit or miss. I will say that our waitress was very good this time around and knowing we were doing the wings she made sure to ask us often if we wanted to put another order in. We ordered beer in one of the 100+ ounce "pitchers" which is great! I wish more places had this to offer when dining in large groups and I like that they don't limit it to bud or Miller products so that we could get it with Yuengling. Again the all you can eat wings are a huge draw to come here. They have a lot of flavors and you can mix and match each order. I love the sweet Thai chili! But with it being all you can eat they use really small wings and could definitely use more sauce. Overall if you wanna watch a game and eat wings without having to pay too much, this is where you should go. read more

Eh. It's okay but it used to be sooooo much better. We all felt that way pretty much. It was just food. Great place to get a beer and watch a game, maybe a few wings but that's about it. Service was sloooow and getting drink refills was a little painful. The shrimp were undercooked and the 5 wings consisted of 4 drums and 1 flat, 3 of the drums were icky texture so that was kind of a no go. My daughter's wings were good. A friend & I have been to this location a few times with good service & food. Last night we brought our spouses & another couple to dinner here. Our waitress Morgan was personable & efficient. Happy hour 2 for 1 Margaritas were bad. Tasted like straight mix & no tequila. When we asked about it we were told that's the way it is & we could pay for a shot if we wanted. We opted for wine instead. Others had the Bloody Mary & said it was very good. Everyone's food was good except I had a hair in my Cuban sandwich. The waitress & manager took it seriously replaced my food & adjusted our bill. There was a child in & out of the kitchen that was kinda a turn off & not professional. My husband and I went to Gators Dockside for lunch this past Sunday afternoon. He order a buffalo chicken wrap and I ordered their chicken honey mustard sandwich. The service wasn't great. We saw our waitress maybe two times? It wasn't even busy. There was more empty tables then full ones. We sat there and waited 35mins for our food and when we got it, It was brought by a different waitress... which was weird because like I said, it wasn't even busy and I think we were her only table. So wtf? Anyways.. I cut my sandwich in half and began to eat. My husband looked at me with wide eyes and said "SPIT THAT OUT! " I got freaked out and spit it up. The chicken was RAW!!!! If I hadn't cut the sandwich in half then my husband wouldn't of seen it and I could of seriously gotten sick. We were pissed. How are you going to serve me RAW CHICKEN when it took you 35mins to make? My husband recently had a bone marrow transplant bc of his cancer.. what if that was him? What if he ate that!! He barley has an immune system so that could of KILLED HIM! I was lucky enough to only chew and not swallow the chicken. We called the manager over and he was like "oh wow, that is a raw chicken". Absolutely the slowest service I've ever had in a restaurant. It is all you can eat wings, it is been over an hour and I've only gotten one order of wings. But it's been over 30 minutes since we ordered a second order of wings and still nothing. Really they are chicken wings and that's your special tonight. Absolutely horrible!!! If you have all night to waste waiting on chicken wings then this would be your place!! Update- Franga Mgmt contacted me regarding my disappointment. Glad to see the follow up by management. They are sending a $5 gift card for my experience. Appreciate the gesture and I will try your restaurant again as the wings we did eat were great. Update- We'll its been over a month since management reached out to me stating the store manager would be sending a gift card....still nothing so I guess the store manager AGAIN dropped the ball and does not really care. Went inside to order wings at the front hostess area and took 5 minutes for someone to see me. They sent me to the bar to order. Ordered 25 wings and she told me it would be 45 minutes?!? Edited to add: this is the Clermont on 50 location Worst service I have ever had. We placed our first order of wings (all you can eat) at 7:09pm, I know because I happened to send a text the moment I ordered. 50 minutes later, after complaining we received our first order. The restaurant is fairly busy, understandable-until our second order came out 30 minutes later. We gave up after the third order, which we just received 2 hours later, which came out with only 6 wings on it. The restaurant is half empty. It was our first time at this location and our last. We are previous customers of the UCF location which gets jammed packed but our orders always come back to back. Our server was great except she never brought us food (understand it wasn't in her control). Keep in mind, this is a table for two with a half empty restaurant. Very very disappointed. read more

Love/Hate relationship with Gators. Food is good for the price and the all you can eat wings on Mondays you can't beat. BUT the servers aren't that good. It feels like they like to use people who haven't really served or worked in hospitality and that results in orders being messed up, food coming out late, etc. I will always come here because of the memories and the atmosphere but just be wary of how long you will be waiting for your food. read more

This is my second visit to this Gator's location with a large party. Both times have been an abmismal experience. I'm sitting here now, an hour in, in a practically empty restaurant, still waiting to place my food order. I understand that large parties present certain challenges but the reason we choose this restaurant is because it's supposed to be able to accommodate large parties. One would think that a restaurant decorated with giant stuffed gators and serving actual gator dishes would be more memorable, but at the end of the day, it was just an average dining experience. The food was fine, nothing too memorable. The burgers were on par, but not unique. Of course we tried the gator tail appetizer, which I was surprised to find wasn't that great. In fairness, it was my first time eating gator, so I have nothing to compare it to. But now I have the impression that gator meat is chewy and lacking in flavor. The restaurant itself was sufficient, with friendly people and prompt table service. The menu selection is decent with fair prices. The environment is slightly fun I suppose, what with all the neon and gator related kitsch, but in the end the colors and patterns made me think of the early 90s... which may or may not be a good thing. In conclusion, I wouldn't mind eating here again, but probably wouldn't unless prompted to do so. read more

They were proud to announce that "Gator tail" had returned (why did it ever leave--hello...the name ??) Anyway, I ordered it and it was chewy and quite gristly. The burger was good, if a little underdone. The service was fair. Not horrible, but it was a weekday mid-afternoon. We were practically the only customers. Also I thought overall it was a little overpriced for a bar/grille in Clermont. Again, it's one if my old haunts so I'll probably go back when I visit Clermont again. Came here a couple times with friends. Have yet to have a decent meal/experience. The last time we came it was wing night. There were 3 of us at a table and we all ordered beers. 20 minutes went by and no beers. I finally got up and tracked down our waitress and 2 of the 3 beers arrived shortly after. We ordered wings and waited another 20 minutes and no wings arrived. Also that other beer hadn't shown up and neither had our waitress. After nearly an hour we walked up to the bar, paid for our two beers and went down the road to another chicken and beer restaurant. Id chalk this up as a fluke bad night except the same thing literally happens to is a week earlier (except we went 1 hour with no beer or food). Went for lunch on Monday, party of 9. We were the only customers in the place. Took over an hour to get the food. Wings were very tasty but cold. Fries were also cold. I guess the cook can't handle big parties. I wouldn't recommend it if you want to eat. After we ate we walked around a little as we were heading to our car the manager came out to ask about our review. He asked us to come back so they could make it up to us. Normally I love this location. The atmosphere is great. The staff is good and the food is great. But tonight was horrible The food was good as usual but the service received from Randi was absolutely the worst we have ever had. Drinks never got refilled it took forever to have our "all you can eat" wings refilled. And after dropping off the check she didn't come back for another 15 minutes. I don't like to talk bad about a place. But when the service gets this low it concerns me to consider coming back again. read more

However, I have noticed that the last couple of times I went after the first, the portion sizes were dramatically reduced. When I say don't expect to eat well, I mean the food was delicious, but don't waste too much time looking for lighter/healthier fare. Gators is a popular chain of Bar and Grill, and has a long list of menu items to chose from; including gator bites. The food is usually good quality and presented well, too. I had the pork chop dinner special, and for $8.99, 2 chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, and a large portion of broccoli, I was pleasantly surprised. Although my server was spread thin and wasn't there whenever I needed her, she did check up on me and everyone was very kind and kept busy with a smile. Gators has a family atmosphere as well and it got busy by the end of my visit, but the laid back feeling of the place, along with being large and open always help me feel at home. Well let me start with my order of diet coke. Without mentioning it she brought me diet Pepsi! I cant stand diet pepsi, when she came nack I ordered water with lemon. Told her why and all she said was oh. Then still charged me for the diet pepsi. The wings were pretty good, but service was a little lacking. True we had a hard time deciding what we wanted. But when we did finally decide the waitress all but disappeared. Our food came, our drinks were empty. (Someone from the kitchen brought the food out.) The waitress reappeared afterword with 1 sweet tea. And When she brought the bill, she siad she would be right back she disappears again. This was our 1st dinner while on vacation this past week. The staff was super friendly everyone from the hostess, server and manager. Great drink specials, and a good menu. Our server was very kind and thoughtful with our 3 yr old. Food came out fast and was great!! Compared to some other places we went to this week this was by far our favorite.
