Heard a lot of good things about this place and seen the Facebook page and had to make it over there. Walked in and smelled BBQ smoke, and that is a wonderful thing. Ordered (2) 3 meat potatoes for me and the wife and watched as they HAND CUT AND CHOPPED everything. Grabbed that and (3) pulled pork,chopped beef sandwiches($.99 each) made it back across town. Got home and everything was still hot. MAN It was so good and everything I needed for the day. Can always get my business and everyone was nice even in a hot BBQ Shack. It definitely looks like a hole in the wall and the odor that hits you when you open the door is heavenly. Make sure you order with the person standing in the kitchen and then pay at the counter. It's a little confusing the first time ordering even though there are signs that tell you where to go. (They are small and easy to miss.) I ordered the baked potato and a pound of the sliced beef. This has quickly become my favorite BBQ spot. I drive from Cedar Hill to get there and will surely miss this place when I move. read more

It's so much food. The potato with chopped beef is my favorite. It's usually a long wait but it's worth the wait. If you like that smoke and bark on your brisket this is the place. Depends on who's working and how busy customer service is not excellent but I have never seen anyone her be rude to customers. When they are busy which is most of the time, the team is focused. They changed the set up so people wasn't bunched up in the corner. But there's always a line. Finger licking good. read more

Being southern born and raised, hell I married a Memphis boy. I LOVE BBQ! This place was a random choice, based on the reviews. They earned their high rating. We ordered the east tx hot links, baked beans, and potato salad. My husband had the brisket nachos. The links tasted like breakfast maple brown sausage. The beans had chicken scraps or something like that mixed in, the potato salad was a runny mustard mess! My husbands nachos were full of so much fat, he could not stomach it any more. Worst BBQ I've ever had. No seasoning. Food line workers and customers were kind but lady at the register was rude and had an attitude. They were out of a bunch of things. Peach cobbler barely tasted finished. It was nasty. BBQ sauce was either mild or spicey so I chose mild and it tasted like pickle juice. Meat was unseasoned. It was not good. No love on it. When I first started going there a few years ago... I was really excited, mentioned them to anyone I could.. Because at the time the food was great and so was the service... I stopped going around last year because there would be time they'd say my order would be ready around a certain time and I'd still be having to wait.. And their attitude has kinda went down hill as well... But the last time I called I was placed on hold and then hung up on.. I called back like twice and the first time I was placed on hold and hung up on then the last time, the didn't even answer... Good baked potato. The major complaint about this place is the service or lack of service. I've called a order in three different times EVERY TIME I would go to pick up give them my name and they don't have my order then ask what my order is write it on a plate and toss it in the pile with everyone else, so I wait 30 minutes minimum to get a order I CALLED IN 20 MIN BEFORE I GOT THERE. Order will be wrong something missing. I was charged twice for one meal and took them two days to cancel the order and return my money. Always out of something!!! Don't correct them when your order wrong the two women have semi attitudes about any corrections. My first time here. When i walked in i felt as if i were walking into a seriously popular southern homemade spot which is my type of spot! Jars of some real deal honey on display had the chopped beef sandwiches which where only 99 cent! my god! that was the best dollar i spent! The bbq literally falls from the sides and u cant get that anywhere especially for a buck! So I don't leave reviews very often, they have to be horrible or outstanding. The only thing I was not a fan of was their sauce. Not that the sauce was bad, but I didn't like how much of the meat flavors it covered. The meat was amazing. I got smoked sausage, turkey, and sliced beef. The sausage was good, it's hard to screw up sausage. The turkey was literally the best I've had in my life, tender, juicy, and just the right amount of smoke flavor. I e been smoking turkey for years and mine does not compare and I thought mine was pretty good. The brisket was a little too salty but still great. Rude ass people!!! Ordered a 3 meat baked potato. Where I'm from we don't load our baked potatoes with bbq sauce. So that's my fault for not knowing and not saying NO bbq sauce. However, there's a sign that has a list of things that comes on the baked potato but bbq sauce wasn't listed. So I didn't know. They made my potato and when I got to the car I seen it had bbq sauce on it and I mean flooded with bbq sauce. I went back inside and apologized for not saying no bbq sauce and that the list didn't say that it comes on there. All the staff looks at me crazy, no one said anything. The girl with the blond lace front looking crazy and smirking as if it was a problem. The girl who made my plate takes my food out my hand without acknowledging what I said. The best way for them to handle that was to just say I'm sorry ma'am all of our baked potatoes come with bbq sauce on them but let me make you a new one instead of looking at me crazy. Customer service is everything when running a business especially a black business at that.
