Had an amazing experience with Chef Jack! He really went above and beyond to make it a special experience for our group. I highly recommend hiring Gather and Forge for your next dinner party! My family and I came from out of state for a small family wedding at a vacation rental property. It was so easy to communicate with GNF even though we were not local to the area. Chef Dan put together a delicious custom menu for our wedding dinner. On the day of the event everything went very smoothly. The chefs showed up with supplies in tow, they prepared the meal, we all ate and enjoyed the delicious food, and the chefs cleaned up before they left. They even left the kitchen more sparkly clean than when they arrived! 11/10 would hire GNF if I'm ever in the area again. read more

Chef Dan Bruce once again did a amazing job with my ladies group this past weekend by preparing some of the most delicious "lite bites"! All of us loved everything he made & it made our day complete after a fun afternoon of touring wineries in the Austin area. I've used G&F for family meals & also for catering & I can say without reservation, their chefs do a fabulous job! I highly recommend Gather and Forge. read more

UPDATE: The owner, Ryan Francis, reached out to me directly to understand what happened. He was not involved with our booking process and was unaware of the interactions and comments made by one of his team members. Ryan was very apologetic. He agreed that the things said on our invoice were unprofessional and insensitive after what the city of Austin endured from the snow storm. He is allowing us to forward our deposit to a future date. I am looking forward to giving Gather and Forge the opportunity to change my experience and opinion. This phone call from Ryan was definitely a step in the right direction! "CLIENT CANCELED for some outlandish delayed ice storm concern DEPOSIT FORFEITED" I was really excited to use Gather and Forge for my Bachelorette Party in Austin the weekend of 2/27/21 for a nice dinner in. Due to the unforeseen circumstances surrounding the snow and ice storm in Austin the week prior, my group had to cancel our dinner. We were hoping to use our deposit toward a new date at the end of March during my wedding weekend instead. Our Airbnb cancelled on us last minute due to ongoing water issues and significant property damage from the storm, and we were unable to find another place in Austin. Unexpectedly, the team at Gather and Forge was unwilling to work with us to move our deposit to another date and our deposit was forfeited. Under normal circumstances, I can respect their policy, but this was a completely unprecedented situation. I am local in Austin and have witnessed many small businesses around the city stepping up and helping our community. I am pretty appalled at the lack of flexibility shown by Gather and Forge in this situation. All we were asking for was a chance to use our deposit toward a new date (not even asking for the deposit back). The team sent her a voided invoice that included a comment stating "CLIENT CANCELED for some outlandish delayed ice storm concern DEPOSIT FORFEITED." As somebody who was without running water for six days, I can assure you this was not an outlandish concern and I'm amazed that the team downplayed the conditions we all endured from that storm with their comments on her invoice. Given this lack of compassion and understanding, as well as the unprofessional and unwarranted comments on the invoice, I wouldn't recommend Gather and Forge. read more

Wow - I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about the meal Chef Anthony prepared for my husband's 50th birthday celebration. From the beautiful charcuterie board appetizer, to the fabulous steak/salmon meal, to the most delicious bread pudding dessert, it really was a perfect evening. Communicating with Gather and Forge was super easy, as they were all extremely responsive to my many questions and requests. This was my first time having a chef come into our home to prepare a meal and it was truly a wonderful experience. Added bonus was the spotlessly clean kitchen that was left behind! I highly recommend Gather and Forge and cannot wait to have them cook for us again! read more

Our company has hired Gather and Forge for 2 online cooling classes that we do from home in the evenings. One class taught us how to make spring rolls and one taught mushroom and poblano risotto. They were both so fun and informative and we learned super helpful cooking tips. We cooked along with the whole fam and we all had a blast, the meals were delicious! Hope our workplace keeps the classes coming. read more

Nick was our chef for a private dinner party & he surpassed all expectations! It was quite the challenge since we wanted it to be fully plant based, fully oil free (except from Whole Foods), gluten free, as well as sugar free (except from fruit)! Everything was so delicious & all guests, even the non vegan ones, were amazed by the creativity & delicious flavors! Nick was also superb in his engagement with the guests! We will most definitely be booking Gather & Forge again in the near future & can't wait! What a wonderful experience it was! Definitely the best dinner part we've had!! read more

This was one of the best experiences that I have ever had with a bachelorette party! The food was beyond amazing! It was a better experience than taking all 12 of us to a restaurant. They arrived with all the ingredients and prepped everything in the house that we were staying in and were so friendly and professional!! I would recommend having this service for any group gathering or even private event! read more

"Exceeded expectations." "The organoleptic, orgasmic experience last night was amazing. Many thanks for allowing us to share the special evening." "Awesome night. Really Amazing." "Is it ok if I lick the plate?" "Thanks for inviting us. Everything about the evening was terrific! Five star dining experience!" Those are just some of the comments we received during and after hosting a farm to table cocktail hour and 7-course tasting menu for 14 people catered by Gather and Forge. The dinner was amazing. We didn't have to worry about a thing. Our guests were impressed and fed a perfect amount of food. While Ryan Francis is the owner of Gather and Forge, we found out about the business because we knew Kasey, Ana and Chase. We met them while they were working at some of our favorite Austin restaurants. When we found out they were now available as personal chefs, we hatched a plan to hire them for a birthday dinner. We contacted Ryan, secured the date, told him the number of people we planned to have and our preferences for cuisine (whatever is local and in season). We made a deposit, and two weeks ahead of our dinner, Chase contacted us and we started planning the details. We provided final headcount and specific food allergy information. Chase contacted us throughout the planning as he was shopping for ingredients and made sure we were ok with the menu as it came together. We had Chase and Kasey stop by a week before the event to get familiar with the layout of our home, cooking equipment, and our serving dishes. They assured us that they had walked into homes sight unseen before and been able to improvise through any situation. However, we felt much better that they took the time to do this site visit and help us plan out the logistics of the evening to come. On the night of our event, Ana, Chase, and Kasey showed up about an hour before our guests were to arrive to get set up and start final preparations. Most of the prep work for our meal was already done, some of which had been started a week before. The team went to incredible lengths to provide our guests a creative, innovative and delicious meal. Thankfully they provided us printed menus so that we could keep track of all the amazing dishes that were being served. Chase, Ana and Kasey took care of all the shopping, prep, serving and clean-up for the evening. We didn't have to worry about a thing. Everyone was pleasantly full by the time dessert arrived, but with enough appetite and appreciation to heartily finish the dessert. Everything served was incredibly well prepared, artfully plated, and extremely delicious. Please go to the Gather and Forge website for pictures. I was too busy enjoying an evening with our guests to take pictures that gave the food and plating justice for how incredible it is. The pictures on their website are representative of the experience that we had. The best part was the memories we have of an impressively creative and delicious dinner. We wouldn't have pulled off a party like this by ourselves. We owe the credit for this amazing evening to Kasey, Ana and Chase's talents and hard work. read more

You guys, book Gather and Forge NOW. I used them this last weekend for a dinner for 15 girls in Austin for a bachelorette party. They came to our rental and handled everything. It was so fun to have them there and watch them cook, but the best part was definitely the food. I was so nervous choosing a chef and trying to please 15 people. There were several different dietary restrictions and Chef Anthony and Chef Aya designed a meal that EVERYONE could eat and enjoy. It was truly fantastic. We took a Moroccan approach to the meal and the girls haven't stopped talking about the grilled octopus. Don't even hesitate to book these guys, you will not regret it. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening! read more

Fantastic Anniversary Dinner! After reading about Gather and Forge online, I went ahead and booked for our wedding anniversary dinner. Just the two of us! It was a positive experience from start to finish. I got connected quickly to our amazing Chef Anthony Nicaj. We confirmed a six-course meal that was both creative and provided good value. I went ahead and wine paired and everything went smoothly and deliciously. The service also included our amazing sous chef, Aya. We had a very nice experience with many "couple" moments. Nothing was intrusive and overall a wonderful and memorable time. I would highly recommend the approach, service, and execution. read more

We hired Gather and Forge for a bachelorette party for our bride during our time in Austin. Ryan and Anthony were awesome and catered to our specific requests and tastes. Not only that, but our spontaneous, fun chef Anthony even agreed to pretend to be a stripper so we could throw the bride off. He definitely went above and beyond in his role and we all have so many great memories of this trip and moment. Anthony worked with our groups taste to craft a special menu for us and a signature cocktail. The experience was and tailored, definitely super personal. The best part about it all was that we got to enjoy a classy tasty meal in the comfort of our beautiful Airbnb and didn't have to worry about getting home drunk/losing people or things. Thank you so much Ryan and Anthony, you made our visit to Austin! read more

Chef Jack was incredible! He made delicious meals for a dozen girls and was a very good sport about our bachelorette party playlist and other shenanigans! read more

Every year we celebrate my Mom's birthday with the entire family - 9 adults, 9 little kids. I wanted to make this year special with a private chef one night. I spent a lot of time searching through reviews and google and put a few feelers out. Ryan responded quickly to my email and set up a call a few days later. He's very personable and clearly knows food! He put together a great menu. He also added a kids menu at a reasonable price (a lot of the chefs I contacted didn't discount for little kids). The food was great! My mom loved the entire experience. I plan on hiring Ryan again read more

My assistant called and spoke to Ryan and he confirmed our date for a private dinner and discussed the deposit, costs, menu, etc. We thought we were good to go. After that, we never heard from him again, he did not respond to any calls and/or emails and texts even. Not professional in my opinion as we had to now scramble to get a new person screened and hired in time for my private event. He may be a great Chef after all, but a poor business person and should know how to deal with potential clients. Not cool. read more

Fine dining restaurant food, at home. We were celebrating a milestone anniversary, and didn't want to go to a restaurant because our daughter can't get the vaccine yet. Chef Becca took care of everything, was very nice to our dog, was super kind to our family, and made an amazing dinner. Left the kitchen spotless afterwards, too! read more

After discovering Gather and Forge online, we hired them for a crawfish boil at a bachelorette/birthday party with 12 people. The only slight hiccup occurred when we found out that crawfish weren't in season anymore, but Nick was wonderful in helping tweak the menu to make sure we could find a good alternative. We settled on a shrimp boil, and couldn't have been happier with the results! The food was phenomenal (delicious cajun seasoning for the shrimp/sausage/potatoes/corn, as well as a healthy and colorful salad) and Nick was friendly, professional, and punctual. His communication leading up to the event and afterwards was great as well. Can't recommend Gather and Forge enough! read more

Couldn't have been happier with our experience. This was our first time hiring a private chef and Arturo knocked it out the park. The communication beforehand was great, the food was absolutely incredible and Arturo was incredibly professional while also being great company. 11/10 experience. Couldn't recommend G&F and Arturo more. read more

We hired Gather & Forge to create a special private dinner for a bachelorette party and boy did they deliver. Every single dish and bite was nothing short of amazing. No doubt, this team can whip up an unfortunately and delicious meal. BUT, what we all felt was the best part of all was the customer service. Our chef was so personable, friendly, and easy going. He went with the flow, did not stress out (even when our AirBNB had a pretty complicated cooktop that none of us knew how to operate), and made us all feel super comfortable. Highly recommend this company for all your private chef needs! read more

WOW - what an amazing experience. I received a gift card for Gather and Forge and it was easily one of the best gifts anyone has gotten me. A truly special experience --- all from the comfort of your own home. Our chef (Chef Aya Hasegawa) was AWESOME - she created an amazing four course meal for us and every single bite was delicious. I cannot believe she made what she made in my own kitchen. The fact that they do the clean up too is so great. They are able to customize the entire menu to cater to you and your party. Everyone was a pleasure to work with. I am recommending this service to everyone who will listen. read more
