They took the car and had it for several days and called me when they thought they were done.. I picked it up and paid close to $1700 dollars and drove home A few days later I was going to Washington State and when I got half way across the bridge white smoke, which I found out later, was steam puring out the hood! I just rolled to a patch of grass between the exits to Vancouver and Camas and stopped . I called a tow truck and had him take it back to Arthur's Automotive. It was Sunday so he parked it in the lot, locked it up and left the keys.in it. I left a message letting them know what happened. They called a couple days later letting me know the engine was completely ruined and would cost too much for a replacement. Not one time did they apologize. I had told him there was a problem with the water container and needed to watch it for leaks. They talked to me about it and looked at it. I've been advised to seek legal advice so I will be doing that at the advice of family members.

I absolutely DID come in, and saying otherwise is just a dishonest attempt to protect the shop's image instead of taking responsibility. Be weary of Al as well. He will sell his nice service and if you don't have the finances yet he will definitely pressure you. If this business was confident in their work, they wouldn't need to deny real customer visits or dismiss legitimate complaints. This kind of behavior raises serious trust issues. One example: my van was having some finicky door issues and the dealership said I should pay $1500 to fix something electronic on it. I took it to him and he was very confident that a light was getting switched on and I should not try and do any expensive repairs and watch that my kids weren't turning on their overhead lights. This ended up being the case (so user error but he didn't try and do an unnecessary "repair". He also then replaced my brake pads for half the price the dealership quoted. I went back the same week to complain why a certain light was giving me a warning signal, he suggested I get my 60,000 maintenance on my car since it is getting close, and it wasn't even TIME. The light didn't went off, so I know something he did caused the light to come on. That same week, I also got a recall on my car, (symptoms are the same as why I went back to complain to him after he did an oil change) and if I took it back to the dealer they will fix it for free. Honesty, is the best policy! Either that, or they're just pretending they know about why the light on my car was giving me a 'warning' signal. But trying to trust them, and paying for maintenance my car didn't need - yet - is not being truthful to the customer. How can I trust them and go back after that?
