So, there aren't many places to eat dinner affordably in "downtown" Geiranger. The other two restaurants open for dinner cost an arm and a leg. So, my husband and I, after a day of hiking, settled on this little take-out window. We both ordered the 100 g cheeseburger combo, which includes fries and a soft drink. To our surprise, the burger was decent! It came on soft bread with lettuce, tomatoes, red onion slices, and thousand island burger dressing. The fries were crunchy as expected. We sat in the little outdoor area, people watching the other tourists looking for an affordable meal. Our meal cost about $14 per person with the current conversion rates. They also make pizzas, which many people were ordering to go. They looked pretty good.
I'd rate the food three stars, but I am giving it an extra star simply because it was the only affordable restaurant actually open for dinner. Most people visit from the cruise ships and daytime bus tours, so once those people leave, most stores/eateries shut down, around 4-5pm. So kudos to them for actually staying open to feed the "poorer" tourists. read more
