They have various soups, sandwiches, and other cafe items--I had the reindeer soup and thought it was overall pretty decent. The meat was very gamey and the soup was heartwarming. They provide jam for you to add to the soup which I thought was interesting (my American tastebuds could never) which added a nice unique flavor to the soup. The atmosphere is amazing though. That's why most people come here. The all glass exterior looking out to the remote country is gorgeous and I would just grab a coffee and spend hours reading a book here or something.

You of course don't come here for fancy coffee but it has black coffee and some yummy home baked waffles and cakes. The owner is very sweet and the cafe has this typical small town feel to it, except this one is with million dollar views! You can easily spend a couple hours here basking in the sun listening to the birds and the sheep graze. Dont forget to bring a nice camera and you will never forget this place. :)

Geiranger is the smaller of the two with only 250 residents, but it's Norway's third largest cruise ship port. It definitely felt like it when Jamie W. and I were there during a two-hour stop on our fjord cruise from Ålesund (review: https://bit.ly/3ckj0Zb). Beyond looking at the torrent that courses through town, we didn't much to do but eat. Options were pretty limited unless you want a hot dog. Like real bad. This cafe is on the main pedestrian walkway between the campground parking and the cruise ship terminal, and we weren't that hopeful of its quality based on its prime location. It was also drawing a lot of loudish tourists from various nations, and they weren't mindful of either the noise they were making or the excessive space they were taking. It was enough to test the limits of my butt-clenching abilities. However, we were pretty delighted by what we ordered and shared. First up was the 190 NOK ($19.30) Ham & Cheese Sandwich, generously portioned on a baguette with cucumber slices bringing fresh crunch (photo: https://bit.ly/3QHsgWn). It was a bit expensive at around $25 but still filling. Cheapest thing are the chicken nuggets which were about $12. Chocolate cake is good. There are also games to play (English/Norwegian/both). Floor shakes when people walk up on it since the building is raised. Made me queasy after a long car ride. There is also a nice patio outside for dining. There was only one woman working so it took a while to take our orders and serve the food as there were quite a few other guests, but she was nice and we didn't mind waiting 20 or so minutes.
