Gateaux made my gender reveal cake. I was so incredibly impressed by my entire experience with them that I would give them more stars if I could. I had to call three times and when I spoke to you on the phone was very kind and helpful and was working when I picked it up was also great. Do Their pastry had a beautiful selection of pastries and cookies and other tasty treats and I can't wait to go back and enjoy them at some point. Cake was beautiful and it was also delicious. Highly recommend getting your next cake from Gateaux!
Woa, the pastries were so yummy. Fav was cherry bite, then lemon, but the chocolate ones were very rich and creamy.
Such a delightful spot!! I ordered a smash cake for my son's first birthday and just asked for a "wheels" theme chocolate cake, nothing specific, and the result was adorable (see pic!) More so than the cake being beautiful though, it was DELICIOUS. We ended up just eating the smash cake and I will definitely be ordering cakes from here again. Not too sweet, perfect consistency, and that was eating it the next day. Super impressed, the staff were lovely, and just an overall 10/10 experience. For reference, the cake was $50.
I had a wonderful experience here. I stopped in to grab a last second birthday cake for my friend, and they had a great selection. I chose the birthday confitti cake first- just because the buttercream looked so good. I ended up changing my mind and got the chocolate mousse cake instead! The gentleman helping me out was so patient and very friendly, I didn't feel rushed at all! The shop itself is adorable. Very small, but cozy and everything in the case looked delicious. The cake was aaaaamazing, btw. I will absolutely be back!
The Brooklyn Blackout is the best chocolate cake EVER. You heard it here! I called for this flavor specifically because when your kid graduates high school and you want to get them the cake they want AND they ask for this? Well, you want to deliver. The decorations were perfection. The inside has a heavenly chocolate mousse filing and several layers. We got the one that said "feeds 8-10" but this cake is so rich you don't need a huge slice, so I'd say it feeds even more than that. We've been coming here for years but this is the first review. The cookies are amazing as well. I'm 100% certain everything here is awesome. Be prepared, the custom decorated cakes don't come cheap... but see and taste them and you'll understand why. They had our cake ready as promised. They were very accommodating and polite on the phone and they gave us exactly what we wanted. They made graduation day that much more special!

My daughter was married in July, and just five weeks before the wedding, her original bakery canceled her cake and dessert bar order. I reached out to Gateaux, and Michelle was absolutely amazing - so kind, understanding, and eager to help. She immediately reassured me that everything would be perfect and went above and beyond to make sure my daughter never knew there had been an issue. Not only was Michelle a joy to work with, but the wedding cake and dessert bar were stunning and absolutely delicious! Truly, the cancellation from the first bakery turned out to be a blessing in disguise because Gateaux exceeded every expectation. We are so grateful to Michelle for saving the day-she made a stressful situation effortless and created something beautiful and memorable. Thank you, Michelle, for making my daughter's wedding sweeter than we could have ever imagined.
I needed a knock it out of the park custom cake , so looked on Yelp and read amazing things about Gateaux. I called them up about a month before I needed the cake and I spoke with the owner Michelle. She could not have been nicer. After discussing my idea for the cake I sent her photos of what I would like to do. She responded with the pricing of what the case would cost and I called her immediately to start the process. Fast forward to this morning we picked up the cake and couldn't believe the job they did. I almost shed tears knowing my husband would be so impressed with the cake design. The cake was so moist and delicious. It served 15 people and we devoured it. I can't recommend Gateaux enough!
I am a fan of Le Sensual bakery, they referred me to this gem for custom cookies. I respect that Les Sensual referred me to another bakery and that I now have a place to get amazing cookies as well. When I entered Gateaux ,I was greeted immediately. Staff sat down with me and listened to what I was desiring as a custom treat and stand out "item" for a baby shower. We created the custom items I wanted, it was a team effort. The bakery brought my vision to fruition. Staff shared what items they have made before and checked to see if they could create what I wanted. I was able to see/hear some of the steps that are needed to make magic happen in the kitchen. Staff was attentive and through. As I was there , the bakery became very busy, with foot traffic and regulars. I was impressed but the attention and fluidity of service given to everyone. The atmosphere is welcoming and there are tables to sit at and enjoy a quick sweet snack. It is easy to enjoy the atmosphere and let your mind be free. This experience was nostalgic, and reminded me of wedding cake shopping. Even better, we had a perfect baby shower and plenty of whoo and ahs over the cake. That was a perfect match to the decor~ plates , napkins tablecloths, photobooth, etc. It was delicious everyone enjoyed it. It looked good and tasted even better!
A lovely bakery. We celebrated a good friend's 30th birthday in Denver and wanted to buy her a cake locally when really we are from California. They took our order and everything was done perfectly! Cake was moist - the decorations were on point and the staff was so kind! We did buy a few of the goodies behind the glass showcases and they did not disappoint. Definitely recommend!
This little gem offers a decadent selection of bite-size pastries and MORE!! We were in Denver for a week and I visited this cute little bakery 4 times, even though it wasn't in the most convenient location from where we were staying. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The women from Jersey on our first visit was the best and so patient with all my questions in regard to the vast variety of small pastries. We tried pretty much every small pastry, a larger danish and cake and pecan cinnamon roll. The small pastries were absolutely freakin amazing!!!!! I wanted to eat the almond strawberry tart until I was sick it was so good. The perfect little pie/tart shell, a thin layer of delicious strawberry (jam), a creamy, light whip inside that tastes of slight hints of almond, and a top that is like magic shell, but fruity (one day I got apricot and others were another flavor. All of this doesn't sound like much, but the combination and complexity of flavors complimented each other perfectly. The key lime was great and the bite-sized cake. It was all phenomenal!!! This place does large, event, wedding cakes and much more. Very sad to not to be able to have it whenever I'd like.
I've spent YEARS since moving back trying to find the perfect y bakery and THIS IS IT!!! First off the Pistachio Cream Puffs are a gift from the pastry GODS! There's not a cake I haven't tried and when I tell you being extra $$$ it's because you will want ten of everything. This is my go to spot and I will forever promote this place. They also have another location but I prefer the downtown location. The employees are absolutely so kind and SO talented. Like I'd marry one of you and treat you SO good for the tiny cakes you could make me.
My niece is currently really into space. I called Gateaux to see about a small cake for her, but their smallest cake was way too big for a little family gathering. I asked instead if they could do something with cupcakes and oh.my.goodness. They definitely delivered! The cupcakes had a ganache and were decorated so beautifully. I didn't get enough pics but my niece and sister were in awe. They were delicious and gorgeous and so creative--and I just so appreciated how seriously they took my request to make something truly special.
Gateaux (on Speer) and Petite Gateaux (in Lowry Town Center) are my happy places. Michelle and Danielle are kind, caring, and masters of their craft. You feel so welcome in either shop, and the service is customized directly to you and your needs. The pastries and cakes are a work of art. The focaccia is delicious whether eaten warm or made into pizza or roast beef hot sandwiches. The farm bread is perfect toasted with butter. I love the holiday/occasion cookies for decorating my dessert table, and the grandkids love them. Both locations are bright and inviting so you just want to sit for awhile. read more

Ordered mini pastries for an Easter brunch and liked that they listed all options on site and was very easy to call and order. I got the petit four of vanilla, chocolate and carrot cake - all very good. Then a few key lime, fruit tart and blueberry cheesecakes the tart type were smaller than I'd seen on site but everyone seemed to enjoy the tiny bites. I have been seeing insta posts regarding this bakery so the moment I was ordering a cake for a friends birthday I knew I wanted to try it from here. The space is super cute, it has all the quaint charming bakery vibes. They are closed on Sunday so we went to pick our cake up on Saturday and it would be sacrilege to go into a bakery and not try at least a few of their little bites right? We got a small assortment, and I tried the lemon tart, the hazelnut, and the caramel. I was surprised because I don't know what I was expecting but they were like mousse filled? Custard? I don't know what it's called but the inside was creamy. The caramel was my favorite. We did go later in the day so a lot of their baked goods like croissants were sold out, so make sure to (like any bakery) get there early. The cake was beautiful. I told them it was for a ladies b day so to please decorate accordingly and they nailed it. Perfectly feminine without being over the top. I feel bad because I wasn't able to get a photo pre cut, but a pretty white with gold speckles, an edible white chocolate flower, and the perfect color writing to compliment. And look at those layers! I will say the cake was a tad dry but the homemade buttercream frosting made up for it. So good! Alfie saw a carrot cake on display that we will probably be coming back to try at some point. read more

Do Not Use Gateaux Bakery! Our very expensive cake fell over during our reception, prior to being cut. The owner Michelle could not have been more rude after the fact. She never apologized or took any responsibility. As the owner and baker she should have advised us if it needed to be placed elsewhere, or needed to have less tiers, etc. instead she blamed everyone including me, the bride. She only offered a measly $400 refund. I've never been treated with such disrespect. Avoid this bakery at all costs! I wish someone would have told me before so I hope this helps someone else! read more

Hey, Shorty, It's Your Birthday!! I came here for my birthday cake. After ordering that, I treated myself to a few choice items from behind the counter. I had the Dark Chocolate Mousse Torte and a Chocolate Croissant. Ahhhh.....heck yeah!! A+ all the way!! Unfortunately, my birthday cake wasn't as delicious. I found it to be heavy, lacking in taste, and all around unremarkable. I was craving the flavor and consistency of a wedding cake, but it was more like a tasteless block of cheese. I am still a fan of Gateaux, but the cake just put a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I ordered a carrot cake for two, To celebrate my boyfriend birthday. I asked for the smallest size of cake which is a smash cake. However was told it wouldn't be enough, so I went with the next size up out of fear. I got a cake for more than 8 people! 70$ for a cake with a Very Basic Dot Design. The Cake was Completely Tasteless! No flavor of Spices, didn't even get thru the thick wall of sugar frosting on the outside of the CARROT Cake. I would say 60% of the product was FROSTING!! it was INEDIBLE! I would RECOMMEND NO ONE WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GREE BAKERY!!! Clearly Money Hungry!! 30$ delivery fee for a 1.3 mile drive! DO NOT GO TO GATEAUX BAKERY!!! read more

The bakers were absolutely fantastic and went out of their way to make our cake for my sisters gender reveal perfect! I was warmly greeted and had such a wonderful experience! The cake is absolutely perfect and we will always be grateful for Gateaux for their accommodating and pleasant service. 100000% recommend for any bakery needs! Absolutely adorable, delicious, friendly, and professional! We will be back! The atmosphere was bright and inviting, all of the parties were a feast for the eyes first, and perfect balance of sweetness once we took a bite. Let me start my saying I love this bakery. The cakes...heck everything...is always so beautifully decorated and tasty. It's my go-to place for special occasion treats. Last week I ordered several chocolate cupcakes for an intimate Champagne dinner for my friend's birthday. The cupcakes looked impressive as usual. But this time the cake batter was really dry. They were baked that morning and served early evening but they tasted 2 days old. Bummer! It was my first time ordering chocolate cupcakes at Gateaux so I'm hoping it was a fluke and not the norm. read more

The cake is beautiful but honestly we were surprised by the lettering. It was kind of disappointing given that we ordered this cake to be photographed and to look good. Really wish we had just done no lettering. Stranger even too is that the lettering on other cakes in reviews looks good. Not sure what happened with ours but if you are ordering from here you might want to skip the writing :(. Disappointing for my birthday. read more

I'm at a loss for words. I cried when I saw the cake. My son is allergic to dairy, egg, and peanut so we were of course nervous to order a cake. BUT, Michelle, the owner, eased my nerves and her staff made it possible to make a stunning cake. We will definitely order from here forever now. It was so good not a single person even thought it was vegan. Order here! It was by far the best cake we all had. THANK you so much for making this possible. read more

Excellent little bakery in Denver. Stopped in to pickup BDay cake and was pleasantly overwhelmed with the variety, colorful, tempting selection of cakes, pastries, treats, and snacks. If not for the pandemic, the space would also be a nice place to enjoy your fresh baked goods. Settled on the Lemon Cream Torte with candied lemons. It was a hit with my fam - not too sweet but bursting with fresh lemon flavor. What I also bought mini tarts - Bananas Foster, Orange Creamsicle, Pink Ladies, and Tiffany Petit Four. All these were fresh, flavorful and memorable. Next time, gotta try the Apricot Grande Marnier torte. In case I wasn't clear, I REALLY LIKE GATEAUX. read more
