This is a place that is so inviting when you come in. There is soft music and a good amount of seats. We went for a date here and the owner and his wife were so nice and helpful in their recommendations on what to order. Love how they have a Canadiano instead of an Americano. Their prices are reasonable for how amazing their desserts are. We were blown away by the Belgian chocolate cake, matcha chiffon and macaron. I wish I could come back here often. We had the cake and americano special and also ordered an injeolmi macaron. For the cake we chose the sweet potato cake. It wasn't too sweet and was light and fluffy. I just wished that it had more sweet potato goguma flavour to it. The americano was good not too strong The injeolmi macaron was our favorite. It was hard to cut but the inside melts in your mouth and the outside was chewy as a macaron should be. Not too sweet. I wish there was mochi inside to really remind me more of the Asian injeolmi flavour The owners are super friendly and nice. If you eat there or take away they always give you a small sample of something. This is the cutest little place. Their cakes are reasonably priced and not overly sweet. Such a gem of a cake shop. From the outside and even when you walk in, it doesn't look like much. They sell both whole cakes and slices and I decided to get the matcha and the earl gray to try. Both slices were soft and fluffy and just a whole lot of melt in your mouth goodness. Would definitely come back here to get a whole cake for a special occasion. This place is a gem! Its a cozy cafe with Korean cakes, coffee, and light meals (sandwiches and rice bowls). This is my overdue review from a visit in the summer. I got a tuna panini, a slice of sweet potato cake, and a yuzu soda. I was really there for the dessert, but the panini alone would have made it worth the visit. You can choose your bread, and the cranberry sourdough I chose was so good, and the tuna salad had a nice tangy flavour. And the cake was wonderful! The cake wasn't too sweet and sweet potato flavour was very nice, and the cake and frosting were both nice and fluffy. I like Asian-style cakes like this because they feel just as indulgent as American cakes but are actually pretty light on the stomach. The yuzu soda was also cool - it had small pieces of yuzu pulp(?) and was very juicy! The cafe is run by a sweet older couple who seem genuinely enthusiastic about sharing Korean flavours with everyone. Eating here was a refreshingly wholesome experience! read more

I ordered a cake for pick-up and the owner was very kind and patient with me because I had a few special requests. The Earl Grey shortcake was a little bit disappointing because I wanted a stronger Earl Grey flavour. Some of my friends said they couldn't taste the Earl Grey at all. However, it wasn't too sweet and it was decorated in a pretty cute way. The decoration was pretty but not exactly my style. There were no pictures online so I was okay with it being a surprise. Their macarons are pretty big, not the typical small French macarons I expected. I found the ratio to be off because of the size. There was too much filling and not enough cookie. I may come back to try the food and some of their other pastries though since the service was fantastic and there are glowing reviews on some of their other pastries. read more

Very tasty and light Korean style cakes with many options run by an absolutely LOVELY couple! I got 4 slices to try including the sweet potato, passionfruit mousse, chocolate raspberry and red velvet. The red velvet was the family favourite being classic red velvet but not too sweet or heavy. All of their cake sponge textures are EXTREMELY fluffy making it almost too powdery? Nevertheless, the sweet potato cake was unique and and I again appreciated how they held back on the sweetness despite the name! Passionfruit was only okay the passionfruit being a little bit artificial and not much of the hazelnut stands out. Overall, I wanted to love this place but unfortunately the high prices and distance from my home make it unlikely that I will visit often. These kind people are very nice and work hard at keeping their business afloat during this time though so I suggest you try it out! read more

I had an appointment in the area and wanted a quick lunch beforehand. I hadn't been here before, but the sign outside said they had homemade soup and a small one was only $3.80. The soup of the day was chicken noodle, I was pleasantly surprised to see it came with two pieces of toast. It was a healthy choice. Henry is the husband, I didn't catch his wife's name, I will endeavour to do so next time as I'm fairly sure I'll be back. Next go I will probably try their bulgogi. I don't know if they do this with everyone, but Henry presented me with bite-size piece of his cheesecake when I had finished my meal. It was great. read more

Wow! Amazing cakes and over the top great service. While staying in kitsilano this week we enjoyed the tiny bites of samples each afternoon in our walk back to our place. On the fifth day we stopped in for afternoon treats! Hard to choose a favorite! The pastry chef and owner is delightful and we really enjoyed meeting him and his family. He is a Paris trained pastry chef and his skills are on full display here. The case is full of gorgeous fancy dessert. The matcha mousse crunch was light with wonderful array of texture. The cinnamon almond brownie was light and cake like. The raspberry chocolate mousse cake was full of both fresh berry and dark chocolate flavor. Red velvet cake was a perfect rendition with lovely precise layers and yummy cream cheese frosting. And the cappuccino is amazing! Panini selection looked yummy too. They have almost a dozen varied panini options. I was very tempted by the beef bulgogi - but too close to supper time. Maybe next time They've only just opened - what a neat spot. Walking by, I wouldn't expect to find bibimbap or bulgogi and cakes all in one shop. But this place offers a variety of sandwiches, a couple rice bowls, and desserts. The owners were really nice. The first time I was here, I had the bibimbap. It came with plenty of vegetables and spicy sauce on the side. I wish there were some more of the other vegetables, rather than lettuce, but otherwise it was a simple and tasty rice bowl. They gave me a sample of a chocolate almond cake. It was delicious! Not too sweet, great texture. The sample actually made me want to come back the next day to try their cakes. And that's exactly what I did. They had an assortment of cake slices to choose from. I went with the sweet potato cake and matcha crunch mousse. Both cakes were light and not overly sweet. The flavours weren't very strong, but it was tasty. I liked the added crunch for the matcha mousse, but I think the matcha could be a lot stronger. Sweet potato cake is something I've wanted to try for awhile and I really liked it. Also, their bulgogi sandwich is pretty tasty. There's plenty of beef and you can choose which bread to go with it. Overall, the food here is pretty good and the owners are really nice. Love, love, love this place! I live nearby and passed by often thinking the combo of Korean dishes and desserts was quite random, but I finally went in and I'm so glad that I did! This is a small family run business and the owners always have a warm smile and friendly greeting every time I go in. The beef bulgogi is delicious and well proportioned, and their desserts are equally yummy and never too sweet. They do a great chai latte too. Since becoming a bit of a regular now, they always include a little extra treat with my takeaways; sometimes a tiny slice of cake or my favourite - mini macarons!
