Much to be desired here if especially if you have a Volvo or German car. Per GM - Phil Hudson, "you will have your car back in half the time if you drive a Ford, GMC, Toyota, than you will if driving a Volvo, Mercedes, or BMW." One would think the 3rd Largest MSO org. This operation is TERRIBLE! My 2019 F150 needed the tailgate replaced. I dropped it off for repair on the day that they specified and was told it would be a 3-4 day job. I was paying cash, so I also had a rental that was coming out of my pocket as well. I called after 4 days to find out that they hadn't even started the job yet! If I had known that my vehicle was going to sit there and collect dust, I would have not dropped it off. So finally, after 10 days, it was completed. When I asked what took so long, I was told that "it took a long time to spray the liner on the tailgate", which is nonsense. I also paid for the wash, vac, and window cleaning for 34.99. As I'm looking at the vehicle, they didn't even wash the windows! After 10 days, they couldn't even wash a window correctly. But it gets better! As I am picking up the car, I am then told that the tailgate cost $200 more than I was quoted! This is clearly something that any class business would disclose up front, but not at this place. I was so finished with this trash operation that I gave up, paid these bums, and went on my way. DO NOT USE THEM! read more

WORST BODY SHOP EVER! I brought my 2016 Ford Explorer to them after a minor collision (some young man tried to pass me on an off ramp, clipped the rear quarter of my car) because they were recommended by State Farm. Bad idea! They told me it would be ready in 5 days, 16 days later they called to say it was ready. Wrong! There was a piece of trim missing from the back door that they couldn't find and bad swirl marks on the new paint. Also I had paid them an extra $30 to detail the car. They only vacuumed half of the car, there was a chemical smelling film on the leather dash top and smudges on all the glass! I brought it back and they finished vacuuming it, but still smudges everywhere. A few weeks later I raised the third row seat and found the missing trim. Reinstalled it myself. I'll never bring a car back there for anything! I suggest you avoid this place at all cost! read more

Gate City Collision - Body Shops Near Me - Nashua, New Hampshire

i am very surprised by the poor quality workmanship at Gate City Auto body in Nashua, NH. I was rear ended and my truck needed a new bumper. After installing the bumper, it was misaligned and I went back 3 times for it to be adjusted, but they didn't do anything and today it is still crooked. The last time I was there Nathan told me that it was within specs, but after talking to another auto body, specs is within 1/8 on an inch. My bumper is off over a 1/2 in from one side to another and is visible to the naked eye. It just seems like they don't care!!! When you look at the website and see their "Commitment" (pasted below) don't believe it for a second. If your insurance company tells you this is their preferred auto body repair shop, ask for the next one on the list and save yourself some headaches!!! Our Commitment We are dedicated to providing you, our customer with the highest quality in automotive and truck collision repair. We will work with the vast knowledge and skill of our valued employees to bring your vehicle back to its pre-accident condition ultimately delivering you the highest quality finished product within factory and industry specifications. Our ultimate goal is your happiness in the finished product and a pleasant experience with our staff. I believe Yelp defaults to a CA. Location, but rest assured I have been a resident of Nashua, NH for over 20 years. Thanks for pointing that out. There really is no need to contact you as Nathan was very clear that 3 different technician looked at the rear bumper of my Toyota Tundra and that nothing could be done. I will be paying out of pocket to get the bumper straighten out, so it's completed correctly. I also have a service appointment at Toyota of Nashua this weekend and will be talking to the service manager about my experience as they told me that Gate City Collision was their preferred body shop as well. State Farm Insurance will also be hearing from me shortly. Thank you! read more

does not hold up. This review is unique because I am writing it several years after the repair was made. I have had 2 vehicles repaired here because my insurance company "had a partnership" with them. Well it showed. Within just a couple of years, the repair spots (bondo) started flaking off. It had to be completely redone. If you absolutely must get your car repaired here, sell it immediately! read more

I had my 2018 VW Alltrack serviced. It took much longer than their estimated time frame. It was returned with fender flares separating from the fenders and needing replacement. The replacement was done but took longer than expected. Recently I was driving and reached up to grab the grab handle and it would not return to the up ( resting ) position. Upon further inspection I noticed scratches on the clips that were most likely pried off recklessly, I also found a piece of black plastic that was melted and shoved in the hinge to prevent it from falling, however it was not functional. I would not recommend this shop to anybody! Prices are not really competitive and work is sub par read more

i was in an accident on Sep 4 in a 2007 F150 with 39,000 miles on it. GEICO said this is their preferred shop. i spent two weeks haggling with GEICO and GATE CITY because they wanted to total my truck. it was hit in the left rear quarter panel (or side panel). their estimate included fixing scratches in the clear coat on the front side, front and left side of the truck. i squawked and finally they took off all the unnecessary repairs and the truck was not totaled. so about Sep 20, we agreed on the repairs and i would pay a $500 deductible. well, it's now Oct 23. i've heard absolutely nothing from them and called today asking when will my truck be done... "oh the manager, Jim McCaul is not in so we don't know." i asked to know the status of the truck. "oh the bed's being repairs and it's due for painting tomorrow." yeah, right... but they couldn't confirm until Jim McCaul gets back. well, i can't count the first two weeks against them when haggling (or maybe i can since it was their inflated estimate the caused the problem). my truck has been in their facility six weeks today and this is UNACCEPTABLE. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR REPAIR!!! read more

I was in a rear-end car accident that caused about $3500 worth of damage. I decided to take my car to Gate City because Progressive works directly with them and it is also conveniently located not far from my house. The initial repair took about 2 weeks (certainly pretty long, but I had a rental), and they were very friendly and notified me of the progress throughout that time. Upon picking the car up, I initially was very happy with the overall quality - they replaced the rear trunk lid, did some frame work, replaced bumper cover, some welding, etc. However after getting home and checking the car out in full sunlight the next day - defects surfaced. First, (something that I haven't seen any shop ever get right), there were quite a few dust particles in the clearcoat. Second, there were some pretty bad clearcoat overspays and runs in a couple of places. Third, the trunk lid was used and they failed to repair some minor dents on it. Fourth, they did not fully repair some body damage on the quarter panel. I took the car back, they were really nice and took it in for repairs again. Three days after I got my car. This time - the repairs were done well, but I noticed that they didn't blend the quarter panel to the door so the door was a lighter color. I was rather upset. Took the car back in for the third time, they got it right then. Overall, they were really friendly and understanding, just wish I didn't have to go in three times. I have zero tolerance for shitty work and I believe that people should insist on a perfect job - these body shops charge a lot of money. PROS: -Friendly staff -Clean location -Convenient, work with major insurance companies -Large facility CONS: -Takes several attempts for them to do the job right -Car was covered in paint dust inside after the repairs Bottom line: if you are not picky, have an older car, or don't really care too much about a perfect job - I would highly recommend. However I would think twice before bringing in a $30,000 car here. But then again - I have dealt with several repair shops in the past and no one ever does a perfect job. read more

Alrighty....they got the door sealed up, but then I had to take it back again so they could dry out the soaking carpet. I think the car is finally fixed, but it took THREE trips back to the place AFTER the original drop-off. At least they're nice...and they have free coffee......but I'd rather have a job done right. Still 1 star, and they won't get my business again. read more

Young guy and he now knows.. Reason I am posting this review.. about 15 years back I sideswipe my truck on my driveway snowbank and dent in the rear panel. Talked to liberty ins and take it to gate city. Guy there says 600.00 to repair! What 100 bucks and you can lightly pound it back.. wry mild indent. Thanks but no..I don't want to raise my rates..Year later I find out, they put the claim in and collect the fee without doing the work!!! Dropped liberty insurance, reverse the claim and what a very piss poor company. Stay the f away. read more

This is the best collision center in Northern New England. My family has always gone here throughout the years and most recently I had the need for some work on my vehicle. The crew at Gate City was absolutely terrific. They worked directly with my insurance company on adjusted pricing so I didn't have to do a thing. They also communicated everything timely and often to let me know when the car would be ready and if any unexpected delays may occur. Even with the expected longer turnaround for added work they still completed everything on the day initially quoted. A week later and I have no complaints. 5 stars and recommend to anyone needing their expertise. read more

Absolutely a 5 star rating!! I had the misfortune of accidentally backing into my (not fully open) garage door. I spoke with Brenton and explained my situation and he was able to take a look at the damage, legitimately right away! He then found the part and we were able to get my car in the very next day for repair, he estimated two days but I got my car back the same day AND he was even able to get me a great price! He was Instrumental in expediting my repair so fast!! The body shop did such a great job and my car came back looking better then before I damaged it-go figure! The service I got inside the shop was pleasant and prompt, everyone was very helpful. I will absolutely recommend Gate City Collision to everyone and they've gained a new customer for life. Thanks again!! read more

Overall my experience at this place was OK A few things I was disappointed in was that we talked about things that they were going to fix but then I had to come back because they "forgot" what was agreed upon. Then after we left, I get a phone call a few hours later saying they lost my key so I had to bring my spare key. The whole time I was thinking they were doing this on purpose to prevent me from getting my car back by the time I needed it. They were able to make the repairs necessary but unfortunately the anxiety has me deciding to look elsewhere for future repairs. read more

Gate City will make it right. The driver's side of my car was almost obliterated when another driver ran a stop sign, and I decided to try them out after having awful experiences with another shop. I did end up having to bring my car back multiple times as the layers of damage to the electrical system went way deeper than anyone could have possibly foreseen, but each and every time, the team at Gate City did what it took to make it right, and the last time I brought it in, they were even willing to pay for the rental car out of their OWN pocket to make sure that I had a car (they didn't have up needing to, insurance covered it). I have never seen an automotive business go so far and beyond to make a customer happy, and to make it right. Do not hesitate to bring your car to Gate City. They are honest, patient, kind, and accommodating. read more

Being this was my first experience with a collision/body repair shop I must say I've never been so disappointed. I fully entrusted this facility based off of my insurance company as a recommendation however I was preceded to be let down multiple times. The manager John was what appeared to be in agreement with the quality of work that was done and the problems I had with the job. The original job called for the rear fender to be fixed and repainted which included the bumper so they removed the scratch guard and never replaced it and I pick the vehicle up with dirt underneath the clearcoat so there was raised areas plus a scratch from somebody and over spray on my trunk. They put back on a part which had road rash from the accident without replacing them and yet I was still going to give them the chance to fix the issues. However while waiting 8 business days for him to call me back with the replacement parts I had gotten pulled over for no tail light. Then again the next night I got pulled over again. So on Monday morning I called to speak with John the manager again to let him know that I have a tail light which was replaced by them not working and he assured me it was just a bulb and to stop in and they'd look at it. However if it were just a bulb the whole entire tail light wouldn't be dark I would have a reverse light or a blinker or a break light I had no power going to that light. he tells me he called and ordered a new part and would let me know as soon as it came in. Feeling unsure about this facility I called the dealership to ask when that taillight was scheduled to be delivered and they informed me it would've been seven days from the time I left that building. I cannot believe this shop manager was willing to let me drive a vehicle illegally because he did not want to replace it in a timely manner, especially after taking 8 days to reschedule to have my car fixed. I've never been so disappointed!! Upon getting my tail light replaced elsewhere, I was informed the gasket which is the seal to keep water out was torn and just put back on ( a 5$ part) so eventually I would've had water in my tail light. I hope whoever reads this review will honestly ask themselves if they're willing to risk putting their vehicle in the shop that does such a terrible job. Overall the biggest disappointment was the lack of urgency in fixing a job that was done poorly. read more

I recently had a Ford F150 try to climb into the trunk of my beloved WRX. Needless to say things didn't go well. The car was shortened up quite a bit and I thought it would never be the same again. However, I chose wisely in sending my car to Gate City in Nashua. The car looks as good as the day I picked it up when it was new. Probably even cleaner. The staff at this place is incredible. They are very courteous people and always keep you posted on the progress of your vehicle. The craftsmen/women that repaired the car are amazing! It is not easy to paint a red car and have the body lines come out perfect. Well done people. A body shop is probably one of the last places you want to go to, other than the grey bar motel, but if you have to I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gate City. Thank you for the excellent service. JP P.S. That scratch on the rear bumper that has been bothering me for 2 years is finally gone. read more

Well done...not only did they repair what appeared to be the damage but the dug deeper to repair other unforeseen damage

Don't be fooled by the cutesy witticisms onto their outside signage on Amherst Street. Have you heard of the fable of the wolf in sheep's clothing? Whereas the wolf smiles and acts all nice by being something by its very nature it isn't. The simile; therefore, the sign is a misdirection. Continue driving by. . . I recently had to use this Collision Center because they are on Progressive's Preferred repair shop. Also AAA New England. Again, don't be fooled (Incidentally, what does this say about these two corollary businesses?). I wasn't at fault in the accident and I needed repairs to be done expertly and hastily--they couldn't fit me in until I mentioned Progressive was the handling Insuror--they had to accept me. Apparently they are too busy and they cannot handle the business. You enter the business and a hello isn't accommodated. They are too busy. They are not friendly and helpful to the customer. As if a basic disdain of what the customer rightfully expects in pleasant and courteous business accommodation. As if their nurturing was flawed and the personnel have no basis for manners, care and accommodation. A slow and uninformative excursion into the all-too-typical repair process ensued. By chance I revisited the venue to retrieve items left in my vehicle and found that they left the window open so the interior was exposed to the elements. When I notified Jason of the shortcoming he mentioned, "Oh, I'll put it in the file." What file? You might ask. I haven't a clue. When I finally picked up my car the interior was full of residual dust and overspray from the shop. And the rain had spoiled the passenger seat. Funny thing is I was very clear to the personnel to deliver my car in better shape than I left it. I also advised the insurance company of the same. The brochure I picked up from Gate City Collision assured me that the car would be clean inside and out. They were not telling the truth. I will never use this business again and I am making strident efforts (writing to the corporate heads of the two insurance companies) to forestall using this repair shop. I am guessing in the future I will have to take my car to another shop to receive repairs. . . . By the way I was advised by Jason to delay washing the car because of the paint job. I have delayed detailing the car because of this advice. read more

I guess from the comments that I am not the only person that feels that the QUALITY of workmanship is highly lacking at Gate City Collision. I went to them because my son went to them under an insurance claim and seemed to be happy with the workmanship. With that stated, my experience is slightly different. I went on my own dime to had a damaged area on the roof of my wife's car. After an estimate, which was acceptable I agreed based on the input from two sales people that the job would be done right and that a couple concerns I had about peeling back the rubber surrounding the windshield and sunroof they would paint the roof of the car. (with the new paints you must/should paint under any of the rubber pieces to insure there are no open edges for dirt and water to get under the paint). And in the case of my auto there are metal separators between the flat roof and the curved portion which can be popped out relatively easily. The good part is that the painter is a good painter and lays a nice paint covering, but I found a couple MINOR discrepancies in the paint due apparently water. The bad part is that they didn't paint under the rubber seals protecting the windshield or sunroof and left paint on the exposed edges of the seals, and did not paint the metal strips dividing the flat and curved portions of the roof area. Where I got upset was when I informed sales, they immediately said " let me call the operations manager and let him work out a solution with you." The manager approached me and after explaining why I was upset he looked at the work sheet and said "It wasn't described in the work order so we didn't do it" with a clear indication that he wasn't about the do anything. From 77 years of dealing with this type of person I just decided talking to this gentleman was a waist of time so I paid the bill and left. Obviously they are not very keen of Quality Control, Professionalism in their workmanship, Quality Assurance OR customer satisfaction. They made their money and to hell with the customer. This just proves what is happening in this country, that the almighty dollar tops everything else. read more

Avoid at all costs; hack job of a body shop. At first they seem friendly, accommodating and highly recommended by my insurance company State Farm as a "Select Service Shop" but then the fun begins a week later when they will refuse to give a guaranteed delivery date. 4 weeks later and finally the car is "ready". Upon inspection found numerous, glaringly obvious quality issues. Clearcoat was the worst I've ever seen; orange peeled like crazy, swirl marks all over, hood looks like they wiped it with sand paper, dried up runs in the clearcoat, gouges in the bumper, wrong tire replaced. Returned 3 days later when told it was "repaired" and found the same issues! Overall a total disaster. Anyone who cares about the quality of their vehicle don't bring it here. It will end up worse than when you brought it to them. No accountability for their sub par workmanship. Management will just refuse to fix anything and demand you pickup the vehicle or they will charge a storage fee. On top of that they cannot follow simple instructions like "please don't wash my vehicle as not to put swirl marks in areas not being worked on" They could care less and will ignore you and let some kid wash it and destroy the finish. To sum it up...worst body shop in Nashua. Don't let the good reviews fool you, they are probably from people who wouldn't know a quality repair job if it hit them in the face. read more

I recently had my car fixed there. I had about 2K worth of rear end collision damage to my new car. I dropped it off on a Monday, and the car car ready for pickyup that Friday. The service was quicker than the time I was originally quoted. As other posters have said; the staff is friendly and easy to work with. I had to bring the car back to have the deck lid readjusted. As soon as I was able to see the car I noticed there was a gap. They were friendly and took the car right in and fixed it. It looked right when they were done. They did an excellent job matching the paint (although the car is new and the paint hasn't faded). The new parts are OEM because the car is so new (2013). Overall I thought they did a good job, and the work looks great. I realize that no repair shop is as good as the factory...but they did as good a job as you will find elsewhere. My only complaint is having to take the car back in for the readjustment. It should have been done right the first time. To sum up: Pros: Friendly staff Reapirs were completed quickly Easy to work with Repairs look great Cons: Had to bring the car back for an obvious gap that their QC should have noticed First question I was asked: do you have insurance (reminded me of a hospital) I would probably go there again, mostly because it is in a convienent location for me. read more

I ended up NOT using this company to fix my car. I was put off by the guy who provides an estimate. He gave a very inflated price to repair my car (I.e. wanted to replace my whole bumper over scratches that appeared to be able to be buffed out). It became obvious that he wanted to pump up the price and shake down my insurance. When I wanted to pay cash, he created a number of hurdles to jump through (I.e. wait 2 weeks, pay 75% of the total up front, etc.) After a while it felt like I was begging him to spend my money at his business. I looked up their Yelp reviews and realized that their "Best of NH" signs could not be trusted. I went to the alternative business posted on Yelp that has 5 star reviews and had great work done for a fraction of the price from an honest business. Thank you Yelp! read more

We brought my wife's car in, ding on door, told Nate Fluet we were paying, not going through insurance. Mr. Fluet did an estimate, we decided to go ahead. We were told car would be ready Friday, I called on Thursday, was told price had gone from $1.3K to $2.1K as additional damage had been found. No call, no notification 61% jump in price! We understand estimates but the customer should be able to OK additional work. Price was negotiated down, some work not done. We were told car would be ready Wednesday, I called Tuesday told not ready until Friday. My wife picked up car on Friday, Mr. Fluet did not apologize for lack of communication, just repeated clauses in contract. We contacted Attorney General's office, Mr. Fluet replied and agreed to reimburse us for additional week of rental. Letter with documentation sent 9/20/19 no reply And no check as of 10/28/19.
