My friend and I had just seen the Templo de Debod in Parque del Oestre and we were walking around looking for a good place to have dinner. Gastrobar Rosales 36 is right across from the park and we noticed they had a very inviting looking covered patio area. We were given menus and they had a wide array of tapas. We started off with a classic, pan con tomate. There was hardly any tomato spread across the bread and they had kind of plopped this cheese on it. It was very underwhelming. We also had the pan con jamon. The Spanish ham is such a specialty everywhere you go in Spain but here, again it was disappointing. The bread and ham were so plain and they had put a quail egg on it too and we just didn't like that combination. I'm not sure what they had going on with the egg but we decided to get ahi tuna and they put a big egg in the center of that too! It really just was too off the wall. Even the dessert we got was flavorless. I feel like because we ordered 4 things and all were equally flavorless and unappetizing it just was such a fail.
The only reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because the restaurant is genuinely very modern and nice. The service was okay, not too bad. I do not recommend this restaurant. read more
