Saw a promo on the site and called them up to confirm if they had time for a battery replacement. Stopped in 10 minutes later and had watch serviced, really nice store. Really nice people. A lot of 25-50% off sales tags everywhere. Really nice gold and silver chains I will be back for. Watch was finished in 15 minutes and through the promo I got it for free. I meant to leave this review a few months ago. I had such a good experience here! I moved from San Francisco about 6 years ago and didn't have a jeweler in Phoenix. Of course it's scary to find a new jeweler especially with special pieces of jewelry, but I had gotten quotes from a couple jewelers already to resize my wedding set (I unfortunately "grew out" of my size I originally had) and got one quote 3 times the price of Gaston and one that was about the same price but horrible reviews. I try to be really subjective about reviews, which is why I ignored a couple rough ones for Gaston and I'm glad I did. The person that helped me was so sweet and kind, I'm sorry I don't remember her name (strawberry blonde/auburn hair) and didn't make me feel bad for gaining weight and needing to be resized. The price was good and the time frame was better than the other quotes. I don't want to be cheap about my jewelry but also don't want to be taken advantage of. It no longer sits STRAIGHT on my finger. I am going to the Better Business Bureau because this is ridiculous. They should not be on business! I went to where my ring was bought and they said my ring should not look like that. They pulled up pictures of when my boyfriend bought the ring and it was purchased perfectly. I didn't end up buying my wedding band here but I was really impressed with the customer service. The woman I spoke with was very kind (never pushy) and answered all my questions. She showed me all the rings that fit what I was looking for and also answered concerns I had about a custom necklace. The store is small, so their selection is limited. I wish they had more of what I was looking for with regards to the band but based on their service and turnaround time, (the woman said they could resize the band that day), I'll definitely be back for future needs. read more

This used to be such a reputable establishment; I have patronized them innumerable times over the past 40 years, as I live in the "neighborhood". They advertise that they buy jewelry. Actually, they just want to try and take advantage of you (to put it nicely). I recently asked for an offer on a diamond ring that had been appraised over the past year or so (by 3 jewelers, including them!) for approximately $2,000.00; they offered $200.00. I obviously don't expect full market value, but I did not expect to be insulted by this long time independent store. read more

We found the MOST GORGEOUS (true) vintage wedding ring here. I swore I would never buy from a jewelry store do to the mark up. However, the honesty and knowledge here however, combined with amazing prices has made me a loyal customer. The prices were truly amazing. As in, better than eBay auction prices. Carol says my finger and I decided to go up a half a size larger. She was right, I was back a few days later to have it sized to the size she suggested in the first place. We have since returned to have an old heirloom ring repaired. We are absolutely more than thrilled with the results. Extremely reasonable pricing for sizing, repairs and the like. I was pleased with the services received. They repaired a diamond ring at a reasonable rate and they reapplied rhodium at no charge. They always honor the warranty on my watch battery and they clean all my jewelry at no cost. Best of all, I usually only have to wait 1-2 hours for the more difficult repairs which gives me time to shop at the mall. read more

Recently had a stone put in a pendant with five small stones and the smallest one was missing. When I first arrived it took a while for someone to acknowledge me first of all, second I was quoted $50 for the job, thought it was expensive but I really wanted it fixed since I really like. It took about four days for them to call me to let me know my piece we ready. When I picked up it was actually $25 vs $50 the other lady had quoted me, the one that was helping me that time said I was over quoeted, which of course I was happy about. The over all customer service though wasn't the best for a first time customer. read more

Well, how this shop pays the rent I don't know.I took my atomic blue angel citizen watch there just for a battery. This older lady takes it politely then comes running back we cant repair this it has a capacitor, you'll have to take it to a watch repair shop. HELLO that's what the sign says out front. Her customer service skills were about as good as a jailer or prison guard. She actually got in my face about how this watch needs a capacitor not a battery, she almost got slapped down. Anyway if you need a watch repaired don't take it there those people got that "old timers" disease. read more

I've been going to Gaston's for several years and have always had excellent service. My wife has had several rings resized and even had to replace one of her diamonds that fell out of her ring. They did a perfect job on matching & resetting all of the diamonds so she would not lose another diamond. We had a house fire and they cleaned her rings beautifully. We also have used their insurance appraisal service, which is as always top notch. If you have expensive jewelry or watches, you really need to have a professional appraisal & have it insured for the full value. Gaston's insurance appraisal service is the only one we will use. We have to drive by a lot of jewelers to get to Gaston's, but it is well worth the extra miles to get the top notch service we always get at Gaston's. Today, I had my new watch resized & my wife's new antique ring professionally appraised. Gaston's resized my watch perfectly. I recommend Gaston's for all your jewelry and watch needs. read more

With a glance the sales woman insisted my watch, a Movado, was fake. I told her I bought it at Nordstrom...while employed there. Still insisted a fake. I told her no, it is registered with Movado and I have the proof. Still rude and repeated 'it's not real. I called Movado and explained I was trying just get a battery and rehashed the story. I called Gaston and said forget the battery, don't touch the watch. I was told the battery was already changed. I requested the new battery be taken out and pit back in the dead battery. Then told they can't, the old battery is in a trash can. She then said, again, it is not a Movado. I went to pick it up and they left the new battery in it. I repeated I wanted it without a battery. The woman was uneducated and rude. Thank God for Movado's customer service. The gal at Movado couldn't believe what i went through. She reassured me Movado sells directly to Nordstrom and my watch is real. The real Movado is on it way to the dealer. read more

stay away from this rip off artist, do not sell your jewelry to her. i had a sterling silver chonco belt and she said it wasnt worth much because the back was copper. the only part that was copper were the hooks that held the belt on. she offerred me $5.00 for it. i went to another jeweler who offerred me $200.00. then i saw it on ebay for $700.00. she told me my topez was not worth anything, but she would buy the gold. she weighs everthing behind the counter so you cant see and then offers you pennies for your items. stay away from this women, she is a thief and a liar. im glad i walked out! read more
