The Cobblestone Eatery is a great restaurant! My wife and I were looking for something new and chose to drive up to Lebanon, IL. It was well worth the trip! The restaurant is located in the historic part of town. The buildings have so much character! Inside the restaurant the picture windows allows the patrons to view the comings and going's on the main strip. It would have been more of pleasant experience if the air was cranked up a tad. It was a bit humid in there. We ordered drinks and the pretzel sticks for an appetizer. The pretzel sticks are paired with a zesty cheese sauce and a sweet/spicy brown mustard. They were delicious! My wife ordered the Cobblestone Chicken. She enjoyed every bite and said it was cooked to perfection. I almost forgot her salad. Fresh greens with a garlic ranch looked quite tasty and my wife confirmed that it was. I chose a bacon and pepperoni pizza. Oh wow! This pizza was topped with lots of pepperoni and bacon! It was more than a meal! I definitely needed a to go box for later. Our server was friendly and attentive! Excellent service and food at the Cobblestone! I look forward to returning soon. We didn't bring the kids on this visit but knowing they have a kid's menu, they will come next time. read more

They try to look fancy. Nasty bar restroom. Food wasn't worth it. Bar was hot and beer taps broken. I had high hopes but a let down.

Ate here last week and everything was amazing. Started with shrimp & grits, it was very good. Then I had the lobster roll which was stuffed. The only thing I wished was different is if the bun was buttered and toasted. My husband had the American burger and a salad. The salad was huge and the burger delicious. Can't wait to go back and explore more of the menu. Love the old building that it is located in. The bartender could have been friendlier since she is at the front, she didn't look up when we entered but it takes nothing away from the food. We will be back. read more

I thought The Cobblestone was okay regarding atmosphere, service, and some items on the menu. We did not frequent the bar so I cannot speak to that, but in the restaurant the atmosphere was pleasant and the service was usually good. The food is not for anyone who makes eating healthy a priority. There's almost nothing for vegetarians and vegans. It is meat and cheese centric. I ordered a pizza I'd been food-lusting after for quite awhile and was decidedly unimpressed and disappointed. We could see no toppings nor cheese, so if they were there they were liquid and mixed in the dough. Essentially, it was just thick, sweet pizza dough and very over-priced for only that. We'd have been better off just ordering from Domino's! I would give The Cobblestone three stars if it were not for how its ownership has dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic. Management/ownership has been irresponsible. Staying abreast of the research both nationally and internationally, we stopped eating inside restaurants regardless of whether state leaders were pressured to flout knowledge and common-sense logic and allow it. When we walked by the Cobblestone and when we went there to pick up takeout, we witnessed appalling disregard for public health agencies' protocols about masks and social distancing. The Cobblestone defiantly ignored directives from the state and was slack about what it did cooperate about, endangering employees and customers. Like so many others, some members of our family have suffered financial and social hardships because of the pandemic, and we've lost loved ones and friends to COVID-19, so to us, defiance of public health and safety protocols is unforgivable. I would give The Cobblestone zero stars if I could. read more

Meh. My first visit was as were are coming out of pandemic restrictions, so I'm giving some grace as not everyone is ready to operate at 100% yet. It was to have smoked gouda and thete was no smoked gouda. Asked the waitress and she said it was pepper jack cheese.( nothing on menu suggested spicy). I bring this up to the waitress and she was like what else can i bring to u so she brought a lobster roll. Again cold and it was slopped on a plate. I used to come to this place before they closed and reopened. It was amazing before. Now they have a terrible, small menu and not to mention we both got Caesar salads and it was a head of lettuce cut Into 4 pieces between our two plates and then left whole. It was the single most lazy thing I've ever seen come out of a "kitchen" and for 10$ a salad I shouldn't have to literally make my own. The chicken was $4 extra for like half a chicken breast. Also all the dressing was on one side. Won't be coming here again. read more

Ate here during the 2023 Lebanon Victorian Holiday. I ordered fries and pasta salad. It tasted great, but the amount you get for what you pay isn't worth it. I paid $5.00 for pasta salad and it came in a very small cup. We were also served on paper plates with plastic wear. read more

This was disappointing. It is a cool atmosphere in the historic building . I went here once for an appetizer and drink before a McKendree Volleyball game. I will admit the shrimp with Gouda grits was delicious. However, I did not find the fish dip or spinach artichoke flatbread that my friends ordered impressive. Fish dip cold and frankly fishy tasting to me and flat bread too greasy cheesy making crust soggy. We tried again during Victorian Christmas days in Lebanon for a party of 6. They did not take reservations for a Saturday which was their first mistake . Tell people you will only hold reservation 10 mins if you are worried about people not showing. That way you can plan better. We arrived about 6:15 and told 45 min wait but would text when ready. Some tables empty when we walked in. No worries, walk around town and looked at sights. No text 45 mins later. Again empty tables. Walked to hostess to ask and was seated immediately??? They were Out of all Tuna, mashed potatoes, and the beer we wanted. Lobster ravioli was like a bowl of heavy cream and butter and Seafood mac n cheese overly cheesy/buttery. Meatloaf was like a Salisbury steak. Waitress friendly but kind of clueless. read more

I've eaten here twice, and it was awesome both times. The menu includes some truly creative offerings, both appetizers and entrees. The prices seem low for the quality and uniqueness and QUALITY of the culinary creations... But I'm not complaining. Ample seating, including an outdoor area. Acoustically, it can be a bit noisy when crowded, but the historical all brick-and-hardwood, high-ceilinged building perpetuates that. And the charm of the interior should not be altered in any way. I hope Cobblestone stays in business for a long, long time. Five stars! read more

We don't live in Lebanon but will take an occasional drive because we love this place! Great food with excellent service! We have eaten here and sat both inside and on the patio. Highly recommend the patio if the weather is nice. This time we ordered carryout and ate in a local park. We had the seared tuna, smoked fish dip, bowtie pasta and Creole pork chop. All were excellent! In fact, have never had anything I wouldn't order again from this restaurant! read more

Not a great experience. Came for brunch and was told they no longer serve breakfast/brunch items. Don't you think you'd take that off yelp and Facebook so people aren't misinformed? After settling for a patty melt I was met with more disappointment. Burger was okay and fries seemed old. My husband got the lobster roll and said he wouldn't get it again, for the least picky eater I've ever met that told me he really didn't care for it. Service was also not great, we weren't approached and had to seek out a waitress. The food was over priced and not good, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Staff didn't seem concerned about CDC guidelines to wear masks either. Wish we would have just gone somewhere else and not wasted the money. read more

Took a friend for late lunch today before some shopping. We both ordered the chicken fajita nachos (an appetizer) for our meal. We both ate maybe a quarter or a third of our order, there were NO onions or peppers- even though when I asked the waitress about them she told me she had asked the same thing, and the cook assured her "they were there". My friend had 3 pieces of pepper and no onions that we could see, and I couldn't see any peppers or onions on my order. The cheese tasted like white Velveeta, but all in all these nachos were a big disappointment. I did ask for jalepenos which helped some, but these were the worst nachos I've ever had. It was ok. Our server, Sarah, was very sweet. I had the daily special, billed as Salisbury steak was a hamburger with VERY salty gravy and an ice cream scoop of garlic mashed potatoes. The potatoes were the star of the meal. They were excellent and not from a mix which is always refreshing to find. If the gravy hadn't been so horribly over salted this would be a 4 star review. Sarah kept it from being a 2 star review even if it was her first day. She has great potential at anything. The older lady that was her supervisor was also very nice. Hubs said his French dip was way too salty as well and it was certainly WELL-DONE to the point of petrified. I wouldn't have eaten it but hubs rarely sends food back. The other folks with us cleaned their plates and all had burgers so I assume they were ok with the food. They need to adjust the syrup mix on their diet soda it was wayyyy to much syrup in relation to the soda water. Yuk. read more

Driving north from Nashville, we saw good reviews for this place and decided to stop in. Usually, Yelp never lets us down, but this time the Yelp reviews were way off the mark. The atmosphere is very nice, very small town. Looks like the bar is a fun place, as well. I'm surmising this from the fact that the toilet paper dispenser had been ripped off the wall in the ladies room. It's obviously a place for locals. There's a nice outdoor courtyard, too. The wait staff and food, however, don't fit into this quaint environment. My husband was happy enough with his hamburger. My corned beef sandwich, on the other hand, was inedible. I've never seen thick sliced corned beef on a sandwich. Had it not had the consistency of rubber, there might have been some hope. To make it worse, the preparer put a small dab (I kid you not) of thousand island dressing in the center of the sauerkraut and called it quits. I had to find a waitress (get up and go looking for one) to get me some extra dressing. Which brings me to another point: we had entered, per signage instructions, through the bar, where we sat at a table for about 5 minutes before I had to head off to find someone to take our order. I actually banged on the open kitchen door shouting "Hello, hello," while looking at the back of a member of the wait staff, who was so engrossed in a cellphone that she couldn't hear me. Finally the cook came out and told us to seat ourselves in the dining room, which we tried to do, but a waitress (where did she come from suddenly?) told us not to sit at the table we planned to use. Note: the place was empty and there were about 15 open tables! I texted a friend in Nashville, who reminded me we were up North where one has to make mind bending accommodations for social interactions among humans. Anyway, I'm sure our experience was an anomaly. Probably most of the food is great and I just made a bad choice. Still, consider yourself duly warned to avoid the corned beef sandwich at all costs. read more

Two words. Steak nachos! Order them and enjoy them. Throw awesome burgers into the mix, fancy lobster Mac and cheese into the mix and you have a recipe for success. The pizza is very good and tons of options for toppings including...steak! Service was good and they have plenty of space and a bar. Lebanon isn't large so this place doesn't have much competition when it comes to a good date night spot. And even if it did have competition this is a hard one to beat. read more
