Gary Sandhu, MD was my husbands doctor at the Skilled Nursing facility called Country Oaks Care Center. Address 215 W. Pearl St., Pomona Ca 91768. 909-622-1067. This was from January 29, 2018 till John's death on March 16, 2018. I was never able to talk with Dr. Sandhu. I left messages with the staff at Country Oaks. No response from Dr. S. I was given phone numbers to contact him at. No response. He is a hospitalist with Pomona Valley Hospital. No response when message was left there. He is a hospitalist with Chaparral Med Group a 1818 N. Orange Grove Ave #204 in Pomona, phone # 909-623-2100. Message left no response. I was told what a great guy he is and that he is busy. The cremation facility had difficulty trying to contact him. He finally responded to the cremation folks after a message was left with Country Oaks that Dr. is beyond the time limit to advise them of cause of death. Cremation folks had a returned call within 20 minutes. Nurse advised Dr. S at 8:00PM on March 15, 2018 that John was showing signs of distress. Dr. S saw John at 8:00 AM and told John he should probably be sent to Pomona Valley Hospital. John said...No. No phone call from Dr. S or Country Oaks advising us John was in distress. I phoned John about 9:30Am. He did not sound good over the phone. I told John I'll call the nurse to help him. The last words John said to me and anyone was, "HELP ME...HELP ME!" I phoned the nurse and advised that John is in pain and needs help. She was going to give him Tylenol and I reminded her he is not a complainer and she would have to phone Dr. S to give him something stronger than Tylenol. Nurse phoned me at 10:15AM saying she is so sorry...John is dead. He was blue already. Time of death 10:10am. We purchased a new hospital bed for John the last item was delivered on 3-16-2018. John was coming home on Monday 3-19-2018. On March 17th...Saturday about noon I went up to Country Oaks to pick up John's phone and personal items. John was a Harley Davidson Motorcycle rider for years. Had Harley shirts from across the country. When I walked into Country Oaks...a man in a wheelchair was wearing one of John's Harley shirts. His jacket, shorts, pants and shirts...all gone. On his bed...his cell phone and charger and an unused urine collection cup. John is no longer in pain. But Dr. S and Country Oaks have no excuse for a total lack of communication. Now I have received their bills for copays without them skipping a beat. Shame on them all. read more
