The main problem here is that there is NO EMERGENCY CONTACT in case of an issue, especially on Sundays. There is a business number listed, but nobody ever answers it or calls back. When I returned to show them the damage, there was no apology, no accountability, and no attempt to offer compensation. I had to request a refund myself. The employee handed it to me and simply walked away without even acknowledging the inconvenience. This place used to be excellent before the ownership change. Now it's an absolute mess. I found Sabella Couture through an online search and decided to trust them with my wedding dress alterations. Upon calling Sabella Couture, I was told that they were moving from their Tremont Street location to Newton (out of the Needham Street Cleaners). This actually made things easier since I wouldn't have to worry about find a place to park downtown when dropping off or picking up my dress. I spoke with Maria about the current state of my dress and how I wasn't really sure how many alterations were going to be needed. Maria was very friendly and helpful and suggested having my first fitting 5 months before the wedding. I went for my first fitting and Maria immediately started pinning the dress. She worked quickly and precisely. She didn't do any cutting while I was in the dress, which I was grateful for. I heard other seamstresses do this, and I cannot imagine watching the dress being cut in front of your eyes! I had never had the "moment" when dress shopping, when I knew that this was THE ONE, but I had that moment at my second dress fitting appointment, when I finally got to see my dress fit me for the first time. Maria did such an amazing job with the alterations. She also altered my mother-in-law's wedding veil for me as well, and it definitely completed the look. Needham Street Cleaners cleaned and steamed my dress and veil for me before the big day, and my eyes welled up when I went to pick it up. Very old building and better yet, affordable prices for dry cleaning and impeccably done. I love extra crisp starched shirts and they were done to perfection. Today I brought two new suits to be tailored and there is a charming little dressing and measuring area that truly is out of the 1940's and 50's. "Oak" is the proprietor and tailor, no appointment needed and she knew exactly what to do and not do with my new suits.
