Our server, Katerina, brought waters and menus. Quite a number and variety of selections. My wife picked a Western Omelette with fresh fruit and Salsa on the side. One of the Daily Specials was Filet of Flounder and I chose that, with Rice and a Side Salad. Quickly my salad came, fresh, cool, crispy and delicious. Not long after, our meals arrived. My wife's omelette was huge. And just the way she ordered it. Plus the fruit was nice big slices of fruits. My Blackenedre Flounder was great also. Just wish I had brought my Cayenne Pepper! First time coming here, I wanted to try something new before I left the Tampa area and went back home. It was a small cozy diner that definitely felt like a nostalgic time capsule. However that was the only positive I will say about this place. I came in with a coworker and we wanted to look at a menu, the older lady at the front gave us a dirty look and ignored us at first until we asked again and said in an angry tone " for here or to go" my coworker didn't like that presentation and went to a different establishment. I stayed and actually ordered food because they had stuff on the menu I liked. I came in early afternoon sat at the counter & the server was not really friendly & it was like it was a bother I was there . I ordered the clam chowder & asked for crackers, by the time she came back I tasted the soup & it tasted like paste !! I said I didn't like & asked for the chicken noodle. This place is always busy on the weekends. We don't go here a lot but I got a hankering for potato pancakes and corned beef hash so we went here last Sunday. We went later, after the after church breakfast crowd, so we did not have to wait for a table. I think the key to not waiting is to go really early or really late. I don't really like eggs so I went with the side of potato pancake and a side of corned beef hash. My hubs got the 2+2+2 breakfast and chose the potato pancake so I could have two (one to eat there and one to take home for the next day.) His eggs were done soft like he likes and like he requested, and his potatoes were well done, again like he likes and like he requested. Not many breakfast diners do his eggs and hash browns the way he likes them, even though he requests it like that every time so I have to give them props for that. They really listen. Also, the melon on the side was perfectly ripe. The times we have come here I always look some of the omelette combos but I always end up getting potato pancakes. We were told to sit down, a few waitresses walked by and never acknowledged us. We flagged down 2 waitresses and they didn't return to take care of us. A nice little hard-to-find spot for breakfast on US-19 southbound. If you can't find something on that vast menu I encourage you to get new glasses. After quite some time examining the choices I settled on the Polish Sausage Skillet, and I was stunned by the sheer size of the offering. It is indeed a portion that is large enough to satisfy two people. Although the taste wasn't through the roof it was quite tasty. The service was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. My friend invited me out for breakfast. I'd not heard of Garden Grille (GG). It was in a hidden strip mall I'd never seen before, wen though I've driven by it thousands of times. When I entered GG it looked like I had gone back in time. It was a restaurant frozen in the 1980s. Nothing was updated at all, & I assumed the food would be just average. I ordered a feta-spinach omelette with country potatoes. The omelette exceeded expectations. The spinach tasted very fresh, the feta was generous & flavorful, & the omelette was cooked perfectly. The last few times we've come have been good but not as great as they used to be. The food doesn't seem to be given as much attention in preparation, it lacks flavor from time to time, and the service is hit or miss. We visited this morning and they were jam packed, barely a place to sit, running out of coffee cups (the waitress had to take an unused one off our table to give to the table next to us.) It was quite noisy too. As usual we were the youngest people in the place. We were able to be in and out within a matter of 40 minutes despite how busy they were. My corned beef hash looked kinda like they dumped it right out of a can...barely cooked...so I mixed it up with my scrambled eggs right away otherwise I'd gross myself out. My toast was odd in texture and had WAY too much butter on it. I finished my orange juice pretty quickly but was never offered a refill or a water. I'm not saying it's declined so much that we won't return, I'm just saying I don't think this is the 5 star establishment that it used to be. read more

No question! Their menu is one of the most diverse around! Mexican is the underlying theme in breakfast items for sure! AND they're tasty! The standard fare is extremely good. The waiter was cleaning, doing a bunch of work chores, then after she was done walked right passed us, talked to a new costumer that just walked in and then went to the back for a while. Mindy is not one of them. She is rude for no real reason. If you make simple requests she can fly off the handle. So if you eat here you can expect a solid meal. Here's the thing... there are a TON of restaurants here in God's waiting room and most of them serve bland, flavorless food - but not this place! Garden Grill Cafe is our go-to breakfast joint. The food tastes great and the prices are incredibly low. Sure, you're going to have to wait for a table - but it's worth it. The staff is friendly and will happily guide you through the chaos of their dining room. It's packed - mostly with people who were old enough to vote for JFK, but don't worry, they don't bite and they seem to all know each other. The food - I ordered Quiche. I LOVE quiche, and it was tasty. It came with a fruit bowl. I figured that this was going to be a bowl of canned fruit. I was -so- wrong. It was served in a small sundae bowl, but it was FAR from a small serving of fruit. HOLY COW. There were spears of pineapple, honeydew, cantaloupe, strawberries, kiwi, orange and blueberries. It was lot of fruit. I also got 2 meats. I chose one of each a sausage patty and a strip of bacon. It was a LOT of food and it was incredibly inexpensive. Less than $8.00 The husband got himself a Mexican omelette, and he loved it. It had fresh avocado, lots of salsa and cheese, jalapeño and other spicy things, it also came with grits and cantaloupe and a choice of bread.. he chose a pancake.. and it was good. Oh my goodness. We just got home from breakfast and I had to write a review. This little hidden gem is delightful. Huge menu with lots of choices, fresh, flavorful food, large portions (we took home enough for dinner tonight and left more than full), great service. Since I left New England I have been desperately searching for a diner type restaurant that truly does great food at great prices. I have finally found the perfect spot after an 8 year search. This is a bustling hot spot in Palm Harbor (at least on Sunday morning). People were waiting in line for tables. That is a huge accomplishment for a restaurant hidden in a strip mall that can barely be seen from US 19. I travel a lot and when I do, I look for the places that are hard to find and FILLED with locals. That is exactly what this place is. Run, don't walk, to this fantastic little restaurant where I believe you can get breakfast all day! I disagree with reviews that this is mostly for retirees. Lots of kids, tweens, teens, families and older folks. This is a great spot for any age and I would be shocked if everyone couldn't find something on the menu to love. read more
