It is my first time in Seguin I tough when I saw Garcias Mexican it should be great food. Not it all, the salsa for ships unfortunately no flavor just like tomates molidos no more salsas only one napkin service never comeback and ask if you ok no straw for my drink. Not the best Mexican I've had, but not awful. The chipotle sauce for the chipotle enchiladas seemed like it was from a can (VERY salty), the chicken wasn't really seasoned, and the rice tasted slightly burnt. read more

Visiting our son that attends TLU. Husband and I were craving menudo. The Menudo was really good, served with fresh tortillas. We both ordered a large and we couldn't finish! Great taste, bite size pieces just perfect . Horchata was awesome as well. We'll be back for sure. read more

My co-workers and I come to Garcia's almost once a week. Garcia's is a great Tex-Mex restaraunt in the Seguin area. They are closed on Mondays. They serve the best chicken tortilla soup in town. The small is a bit small so you should consider ordering the large. The soup is pretty much the only thing I order when I come here. It is served with pico de gallo. The or so light and crispy you won't be able to stop eating them. The sopapillas are fantastic too. Sometimes the service may be a little slow during busy times but it's worth the wait. Decided to try this place for the first time. Chips and salsa was okay. Salsa tastes like purée with jalapeño juice and not spicy at all. We ordered the beef fajitas for one and fajita nachos as our meals. Fajitas had a great flavor but I would suggest you pass on the borracho beans unless you like a lot of pinto bean seasoning. Now the fajita nachos were very good. I'd suggest those. I gave it 3 stars because our waitress was great and the fajitas were good. Would I return? Probably not. Located on I-10 and Hwy 46, near some hotels full of working stiffs. Probably helps their business. Plenty of local-looking diners. Very utilitarian atmosphere, staff friendly. Green chicken enchiladas at dinner had ZERO flavor, even the verde sauce. I only ate the beans & rice, and they were nothing to write home about. :-/ Other dishes at the table apparently acceptable to companions. Good chips & hot sauce. Fast service, reasonable prices, if it just would have tasted like anything. We showed up on a Saturday evening, about 45 minutes after the 6:00 happy hour had ended. Gets much more crowded a couple hours later. At sunset, the intersection looked like a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". Don't look up as you walk through the part of the parking lot near the door. All the bird droppings under the utility wire should answer why not. The chips are excellent... The tea is good... The food is good... But the portions are like kids menu size... For 10 bucks I expect more than 5 small pieces of meat on a carne guisada... I got the Grande nachos. They were loaded with beans, queso, and a choose between beef and chicken. They give you a side of sour cream, pico, and guacamole. My girlfriend ordered the half order of cheese quesadilla. My nachos were extremely good, they serve you a lot, I barley made it thru half way. My girlfriends was really good as well, they load it with cheese and the tortillas are good. The only bad experience I had here is the customer service. It took 10 minutes just to order our drinks, and another 10 minutes to receive our drinks. The food came out pretty quick. Overall I will be coming back here in the future. read more

Easily the worst service I've experienced in years. It took 15 minutes for my waitress to take my order after bringing my drink - in a place empty and over-staffed. Then it took 15 minutes to take my payment. In between I had queso that would have been better had it been plain Velveeta, awful enchilladas, and an okay taco. I also ordered a breakfast taco which was very good and very generous. The salsa was spicy ketchup, but the chips were very nice - light and crispy. I think this might be an okay place for take-away breakfast tacos, but I doubt they'll be open in a year. read more

Stopped by for quick dinner with my bf. Just passing thru never been there before. It was a Sunday night not too busy. The chips were NOT homemade and salsa was ok. The food was good nothing spectacular. My bf had street tacos, meat dry and kinda flavorless. I had a lightly fried chicken breast stuffed with bacon and cheese. It was difficult to eat was very dry needed steak knife to cut and wrestled to cut it. Good margaritas though! But could've had that at chili's at exit before that one with much better meal. No seasoning at all. Complete waste of money. They messed up potato's rice and beans somehow. The cilantro enchiladas tasted grotesque and the salsa tasted like tomato sauce. Garcia's Mexican restaurant is trash on the weekends. The weekend crew is rude and they do not listen to people's orders. I always go during the week and they are nice and get my order correct. They take the time to listen. I recommend not going on the weekend. I had asked for my two tacos to be done a certain way and they had it wrong so I went and asked them to fix it. They took my tacos and just threw cheese on it wrapped it back up and like kinda threw it at me. Very disappointing because I love going to this restaurant. We are Mexican food eaters chowing down on it every other day and sometimes several says in a row. So when we saw this place we immediately selected it over other fast food places surrounding it. Lunch rush was in full swing with only a couple tables open on a Thursday around 1PM We were promptly met at the door and seated at a table for two directly in front of the kitchen entrance. I immediately notice how clean and orderly things were beyond. We received drinks and chips with salsa and placed our order. The chips didn't appear to be home made but probably purchased and the salsa was ok - again not appearing to be made in house. I ordered Chicken Fajita Gordita and my husband ordered the Combo plate with Cheese enchilada, ground beef taco, chalupa, beans and rice substituting charro beans for the refried. Food was out promptly and hot. The charro beans were great, in fact my husband said if he knew they were that good he would have got a bowl. The combo plate was good like you would make at home using velvetta cheese for the enchilada, and melting cheese on the beans on the chalupa then topping it with lettuce and tomato. The taco meat was good with the right amount of grease dripping out. The Gordita was good with a crispy grilled tortilla pocket and the meat was grilled and I added some cheese which was also velvetta. (Nothing wrong with velvetta, but Mexican Cheese would be more flavorful.)
