I am a big fan of Yelp and more times than not, relay on the reviews I read to form a decision to contact a company. Originally, we had someone come in to install wood-like porcelain tile in our condo (hallways, both bathrooms and bedrooms). Although he was very nice and punctual, it was clear after the work was done that installing wood-like tile just wasn't his specialty. We wanted to run the same flooring throughout the rest of the condo but wanted someone a bit more professional to finish the job. I stumbled across Garcia's Flooring on Yelp, read the reviews, and made the call to Sergio. After a brief conversation about what we had been through with the previous contractor, an appointment was scheduled for the following day and Sergio came out to provide us with a quote. When he walked through our condo, he was able to point out flaws in the work already done and told us of a few tips on how he would go about installing the flooring in the rest of the house if we were to hire him. From what I've been told, wood-like porcelain tile (longer planks) are tricky to install; and it takes the right contractor to create even/leveled flooring. My husband and I felt comfortable with his knowledge and guidance and decided to schedule a time to start the work. Each and every call or text I have made to Sergio, has been answered---always! The work is scheduled for next week to finish off the house, I will update my review once the work is complete and post pictures as well. We are really looking forward to having our living space complete with new flooring. Can hardly wait! UPDATE: The work has been completed and we could not be happier with the finished product and experience with Garcia's Flooring. Not only do our floors look AMAZING, dealing with Sergio and his crew was top notch. I found Garcia's Flooring via Yelp. Sergio came out to measure our home and within a couple of days, he emailed us an estimate. About a month later, I called him because we were ready to proceed and start the project. I am not exaggerating when I say I called him at least 6 times, leaving messages, emailed him 3 times, and texted about 3 times as well. I finally got him to answer once and said he had an emergency and had to leave the country. I told him it was fine, please take the time to settle back down and as soon as he is able, please call me so we can discuss moving forward. I waited a week, then 2 weeks. Nothing. I messaged him and called him again. No response. I even sent him a message through Yelp one last time a month later letting him know we want to begin the work. We were ignored. I wish he would have just been honest about being too busy to take on the project as opposed to stringing us along. It's much better and professional than leaving a client feeling ignored and disrespected, especially considering that we would refer people to him in the future. He installed distressed acacia engineered hardwood flooring throughout and then matched walnut treads on our stairs perfectly by color, even adding some stress effects. I can't say enough good things about Sergio and his team. First of all I got many quotes to replace the floor in every room in our 1,800 square foot house with LVP. Sergio's quote was one of the most reasonable of all the quotes. He made us feel comfortable with his detail and knowledge during the quote and we decided to go with him. Had a pretty great experience all around. Sergio was knowledgeable and gave good advice. The guys he sent over did really nice work and were willing to fix the couple things we found were off. We had a small problem with the leg of our stove (it broke off) and the guys were able to fix it, even when it wasn't their job to do so. They made great cuts in the planks, especially around the rounded edges of our wall corners. And the few places where the floors were butted up against something else, like the fireplace tile, the cuts were so clean as to not need any transition pieces. I would like to start off by saying I highly recommend Sergio and his team! We did a house remodel and needed 1660 sq. ft of wood flooring installed, and 423 sq. ft of tile installed. Tile on the kitchen floor and wood all throughout the house. Sergio came highly recommended from a friend so we decided to contact him. Just talking to Sergio on the initial visit, we could tell right away that he was knowledgeable, detail-oriented and would be a pleasure to deal with. We wanted a smooth transition from kitchen tile to wood floor in the living room (with no T-molding). Sergio explained in detail how he would do it. The whole installation took 5 days. I cannot stress enough how happy my wife and I are with Sergio and his team: 1. They would arrive in the house each day with all smiles, and would work throughout the day with such positive attitudes, big smiles, and friendly demeanor. Even when they would leave after a long day's work, they would still be all big smiles. It felt like we had "family" around the house. They would even help me in other things that did not have anything to do with the floor installation--like help me carry heavy items , fix a broken door, etc. 2. Sergio replaced tile flooring that we had in our home with wood and marble flooring. We liked his approach toward buying materials. He asked us to pick wood/marble at local shops (not big box stores), then he can hunt for better price. It doesn't work always, but that is a transparent start. So we went ahead with him over other contractors. Removing tiles took a couple of days. All appliances and windows were covered before tile removal. Stair case was completely covered to prevent stains during work. All that did help. Wood flooring for living room was completed in 2 days. Marble flooring took longer than estimated. But in the end, the wait was worth it. Everyone who visited our home after, did appreciate the work. Pricing was slightly on the higher side, based on what I heard from a friend familiar with construction. But not too off. For the work, we felt it is worth the price. Only one problem though, Sergio gives out optimistic estimates for time. We did add some buffer to it - before planning around it. Still, we went through some intense episode towards the end. We would definitely recommend him, but may be will double our buffer around his original estimate to alleviate anxiety :). read more

I would HIGHLY recommend Sergio and his crew! I needed someone to fix my buckling bamboo floors. We have been in our house only 2 years and the bamboo laminate floors (installed quickly when house was being put on the market) began to buckle. I called Sergio who was extremely pleasant to deal with from the get-go. He came over and inspected the floors and determined what the issue likely was and what needed to be done. He quoted me a very reasonable price for the work. The day he was scheduled to arrive, I added on to the project by purchasing new baseboards and asked if they could cut & install new boards instead of putting back the old ones. Again, another very reasonable quote for the work. And to top it off, I had purchased the baseboards at Home Depot but couldn't get them home because they were 16 ft long so Sergio drove over and picked them up for me along with a few other trim pieces that would be needed. I think the job ended up being a much bigger one than either of us anticipated because it took them 2 days (we thought maybe 5-6 hours) and they ended up taking up almost half of my original floors to reach door jams so that they could properly trim around them. My first question as they wrapped up the first day was "is this going to effect the price?" and Sergio said "no". What's more, he never once complained to me or said anything like "this was a WAY bigger job than I thought" or "I would have charged more if I knew it was going to be this much work". He was so nice and pleasant about it and just focused on getting it done correctly. I was so appreciative of that. His crew (Javier and Fernando) were wonderful too!
