On 12 April 2025, I took my Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled to Garcia Moto in Raleigh for its major Desmo service. Because the valves needed to be check/adjusted, I trailered the motorcycle to/from so the engine would be cool and I could get it done same day. To check and adjust the valves, the fuel tank had to be removed from the bike. Took it out for a ride first thing Sunday morning. At around 7:30 a.m., shortly into my ride, my legs started to feel wet. I looked down and noted gas spraying from under the fuel tank all around my left leg (spraying because these scramblers have a high pressure fuel pump). I looked up to figure out how to safely get off the state route and immediately felt my legs getting really warm. Looked back down, and flames were shooting out around both my legs. I killed the engine, stopped quickly with the front brake, and jumped from the motorcycle. To be sure I was driving normal highway speeds, on my own, in Eastern NC. No twists and turns or anything aggressive. Called Garcia Moto from the site and left them a voicemail. Also emailed them this video. Having not heard from them by Tuesday at noon, I took what was left to them to see what could be done. The service manager told me that he had received my messages but had been directed by the owner to not contact me--that Garrett Garcia just wanted to wait and see how things would play out. Garrett refused to take any responsibility, ultimately saying I would just have to deal with it. He and his Ducati tech insisted the valve service (which required removing and reinstalling the fuel tank) was super simple and that there's NO WAY they could possibly be at fault. If you know anything about bikes, you know this is not true. There are all sorts of things that could go wrong when servicing a motorcycle, which is why the service cost me over $1660! Even Ducati North America investigated the bike and told me there were no manufacturing defects in the bike. Incidentally, the service required them to also check all fuel lines and fittings, so even if they didn't damage them and the components were faulty, that is LITERALLY THE POINT of the service. Pretty gutted. I'm 39 years old and this was the first vehicle I ever purchased brand new. Took exceptional care of it and wound up with nothing the very first time I let Garcia Moto take care of my motorcycle. read more

I can't say enough about Garcia Moto's service department and the high standard of customer service, especially from Jeff and Ian. I purchased my 2020 Scout Bobber in October of 2020 from a different dealership. I immediately went to work in my garage making all of the mods I had planned. I knew that when it came to some of the more advanced modifications (I.e., electrical work), I would need some assistance, and quickly found out that most of the shops closer to me (NC Triad Area) were not eager to help. They mostly gravitate towards the aftermarket parts they stock - the majority of which are plug and play - and don't want to stray too far beyond that. From the first time I talked to Ian, I knew I had called the right place. His "We'll figure it out," attitude was refreshing after all the much less enthusiastic conversations I had with other shops and dealerships. Ian was up front about the potential time involved and the finicky nature of the scout electronics system. I didn't hesitate to load the bike up and drive it to Raleigh for a week in the shop. The rear aftermarket turn signals required a custom wiring harness. I knew what I wanted and supplied the Rizoma turn signals. Garcia Moto's shop took care of the rest. Additionally, I did not like the stock front turn signals, which looked like they belonged on a 747 airplane, and not a mid-size motorcycle, but didn't really have any ideas. Ian and team once again came through with some suggestions, and I could not be happier. The dealership itself is also great and Garcia Moto sells Indian, BMW, KTM, and Ducati. There's plenty of motorcycles, swag, and accessories to checkout and I certainly killed my fair share of time gawking at the Ducati tri-color on the showroom floor. If you live in the Raleigh area, this could easily be your dealer of choice. If you don't, I still wouldn't hesitate to make the drive to get serviced by this top notch shop. read more

On 6/21/24 I signed for 2014 BMW R1200RT from Garcia Moto, which was on consignment, after spending 5 days or so in discussions/negotiations with my salesperson Cody (who was awesome). I live in Arizona some 2200 miles away. The bike I purchased was advertised as having a two (2) year warranty INCLUDED WITH THE PURCHASE. When it came time to move forward I was told the warranty would have to be purchased if I wanted one. Mind you, the advertisement was STILL POSTED AS WE SPOKE AND FINALIZING THE PAPERWORK! What I was told was the "IT guy was supposed to have taken it off earlier when the bike price was reduced,". How does a warranty just disappear? Needless to say I attempted on several occasions to contact the owner, Garret, but he won't respond to me. Instead he communicated through the sales person and still maintained it was a mistake by the IT guy and had to be purchased. He even went as far as saying I COULD RETURN THE BIKE FOR A FULL REFUND (I wonder if he would stick me with the shipping both ways?) Anyway, I've contacted the Atty General and other complaint avenues in order to make potential buyers aware of Garcia Moto's practice in this case. I bought A Ducati here a couple of years ago. Salesman was fine but attitude was "take it or leave it". Given Covid reduced inventories I went forward in spite of pricing, and more importantly, attitude. Recently sold that bike and bought a 2023 BMW M1000R. This time I avoided Garcia. Last week I called service dept. to see about them installing a header and mid-pipe. They quoted 2 hours and scheduled it for today. I was going to do it myself as several utube videos were very detailed and said 1-2 hours but without a lift/stand I brought it to them. My buddy followed me there with the parts, 40 miles each way. I left bike, parts and signed their agreement for $400+ at $191 per service hour! After leaving dealer I get a call that job will be 4-5 hours and about $1,000. I said "never mind". Rude when I checked in (no hello, good morning...) and bad at their job as an extra insult. Discussed with Service writer and sales, neither cared. Their will not be another attempt to use them and I will tell my 2 friens who bought bikes there when I did. read more

I wanted to get a simple estimate on repairs to my bike. I went to walk in the door, and an employee, no clue who asked me, "what do you want?" I replied, an estimate for repairs on my bike. His response was, "we don't have anyone who can do that, but if you leave it we can get you an answer in 2 weeks." It wasn't the answer that made me mad, it was the employees attitude. Which struck me as "We don't want your money, go away." All I could reply to him in my shock was, "thanks for your great service, or more accurately your lack of it." Suffice it to say, Garcia will not get our business, not on this bike, let alone any future sales, all because of an an employee with a bad attitude. So, if you want to avoid aggravation, go elsewhere, just about anywhere else. read more

Internet purchase: Got a great deal on a low-mileage K1600GT, a bike that had been in the Garcia Moto customer family with all service history included. I traded my Triumph Tiger 1200 in with a very fair offer and drove straight through from Dallas TX in 2 days to do the swap. Greg and Jason were easy to work with and made the transaction seamless. These are motorcycle people who understand a rider's needs with a high level of professionalism. I was in and out in 30 minutes with my new bike loaded up. The parts ppl are nice, but the service dpmt will be your downfall. They don't keep appointments, do not communicate and charge almost $200 an hour for labor. They always only have 1 Technician/Mechanic, yet they use the excuse that 1 of them is out. That's a lie, the issue is, THERE IS ONLY ONE. I had my bike their at 9am for a 1hr labor job. They had my bike their for 8hrs and never touched it. They never called all day, the only way I saw it, is I just came back to the shop to see it sitting in the same place untouched. I was livid, once they got someone to do the job, it literally took them 30mins!! What that says is, THEY ARE OVERCHARGING, damn near gouging, they are not taking their job nor customers seriously, they're not responsible, and shouldn't be in the service business. The Parts Manager is their saving grace, but the service Manager is the problem. He doesn't care because he feels as though, you need him more than he needs you. He is only there to kiss RPD behind. They are not very invested in their product bcse still nobody can tell me how to connect Airplay on an Indian Challenger. I love the bike, but the shop portrays itself to be very snooty. That word n motorcycles don't go together!! Beware, they are the only shop for many miles, next closest is Fayetteville or Greensboro/High Point!! A 30 minute job, turned into 8hrs, Unbelievable!! I brought my Indian Chieftain to Garcia for its annual service check. The quoted cost was 444 dollars! Battleship Indian in Wilmington charges 240 dollars for the same service. I was told by Garcia that their charges are higher because their technicians are also trained to work on BMW bikes. What is this cost flowed down to do an Indian owner? I plan to trade in my bike before the summer to purchase a Challenger. I also have several friends that are looking to trade in their bikes (Harley and Honda) for an Indian. Needless to say I will not be buying from Garcia Indian. The service charges are ridiculous. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. We called (numerous times because they refuse to answer their phones) to get our bikes recalls done. The man on the phone said he ordered the parts (while he was on the phone with me) for the recall that Friday and we would set up an appointment once all the parts got in. They never called me back so I called almost TWO WEEKS later to ask if they finally made it in, and they had. We then made an appointment for the coming Wednesday to have it serviced. I dropped the bike off Tuesday evening for the appointment the next day (keep in mind we live over an hour away). I called that Saturday after because we hadn't heard back. They said they did one of the two recalls and wanted to "make sure the other one needed done" before they ordered the parts. Needed done? It was a recall for a reason genius. So then it took almost THREE WEEKS to get done. Then we drive out here to get it and guess what? They still hadn't done everything we asked yet or wrote the sales order. So we sat in the parking lot for an hour or more waiting on them to finish what should have already been done. Never will come here again. read more

Second Horrible experience dealing with this place. I went in 6 mo ago to buy a Schuberth helmet with the cardo system (~$1200). I explained to them before we arrived that I'd be needing it set up for a ride we were taking that day. It was not set up. When i asked if someone could help me install the unit I the salesman said he was tied up and could help me in about an hour. I ended up standing at the counter setting it up myself. Went back home and emailed their "general manager" and hoped all was a simple misunderstanding but with last name of Garcia for a dealership, they sure are picky whom they reply to, my parents were born overseas and we don't have a Caucasian last name, make the story short, I had to drive to Baker Indian in Fayetteville to purchase my bike, much better experience and selection. In November I bought a used KTM from Paul at Garcia Moto; worst buying experience in my nearly 50 years of motorcycling. I've only been able to ride the bike back and forth in front of our house a few times while trying to address a succession of major mechanical issues: radiator, carb, petcock, brake calipers, various gaskets and seals (first time I checked the oil, the crankcase turned out to be full of gas). And much time has been spent seeking non-OEM parts compatible with unavailable OEM stuff. This bike was woefully misrepresented. Now it's stopped getting any spark, so I'm either going to resign myself to chasing down electrical gremlins, or have a very satisfying bonfire in the driveway. read more
