We visited this location after being super happy with our visit to the Nampa location. We were not nearly as impressed-- or actually very impressed whatsoever. Initially, the young man working the register was very personable. We mentioned having gone to Nampa and he made a comment like "oh, we're better!" I actually liked that he seemed to have that opinion and was really hoping it would be true, or that at least it would be comparable. Unfortunately, the only thing that was comparable was the product... Had out of town friends with us who had contemplated a salad bar with their pizza but the items all looked less than fresh, so they decided against it. Both couples ordered the Everything pizza but with some modifications. We removed several toppings (salami, onions and mushrooms) and substituted extra pineapple and pepperoncini. Given that we removed three items and substituted only 2, we didn't expect a price difference; however, we DID end up being charged an extra $2.50 which the receipt did not clearly show-- only figured it out because the price charged was $2.50 more than what was listed on their digital menu. Friends wanted extra pineapple on the entire pie, all of the tomatoes on one side and all of the ham on the other side. That was hard for the kid taking the order to understand, though it seemed like he eventually got it right. When their pizza was done, it was wrong and had to be remade, which was done without complaint by the other young man working, but all in all we spent over an hour in the location. There didn't really seem to be any rhyme or reason to what order the pizzas were made in; a gentleman walked in after we were done ordering and placed an order-- he received his before either of us. Our friends, who ordered after we did, got their first one next, then we finally got ours. The final pizzas were good, although it did seem as though there was more sauce than the other location-- not a big deal for most, we're just not really sauce people. When our friends finally got their remade, correct pie, we just took it to go (they had put all of them into boxes anyway, which seemed like kind of a waste, but I'm assuming the boys were trying to have as few dishes at close as possible; we placed our order at 6:42 and didn't leave until about 7:50) The young men working were dressed quite... unprofessional. I get allowing employees to be comfortable and that it's "just pizza" yet I still feel like there should be some level of accountability in what they wear-- the shorts that one of them was wearing looked almost like swim trunks! Also, I noted that the amount we were charged was higher than what was shown on the menu board, brought it up to the cashier and was just told "I don't know why. I can ask my manager but she's not here right now". So, no real resolution-- and it seemed as though there was nobody actually "in charge" to be able to assist with a customer issue. Of the five or so groups of tables in the restaurant, only one of them seemed clean. I took napkins and wiped down the ones we wanted to sit in. This was bothersome to me due to the fact that when we walked in, they were not busy; one of them was standing there at the register while the other did dishes (or so we were told when I asked if he was the only one working). Customer area cleanliness should have taken priority over dishes, in my opinion. Three stars simply due to the fact that the final product was decent, although I'm not sure that we'll go back to this location. We'll probably stick to making the drive to Nampa when we want this pizza. read more

In the past I've loved Garnonzos for both their pizza and their monkey bread. But the last few times I've ordered the monkey bread has been overcooked or down right burnt. It breaks my heart because when it's good it's awesome! Also the monkey bread we ordered yesterday had a very chewy texture and part of it hadn't raised like the rest. I feel like quality control has gotten very lax and I'm afraid it's going to cost them my business. You can only take so many disappointing orders before you try something else. read more

So we decided on this pizza place because my sister in law said it was good. The reason for the docked star is because how long it took to deliver. An hour and a half at around 5:30 pm for dinner and didn't arrive until close to 7. Very disappointed in that but the pizza was very good! We all ordered our own little 10" pizza and it had that thick crust you usually want. They don't have a ton of options for toppings (basil, roasted garlicas another franchise like say Blaze pizza but all in all it was good. I will say though if you are hangry, go somewhere else or maybe see if you can pickup! Update 6/29/20 Ordered again for my family who was visiting. I told them it was good pizza and was close. I did carry out and the gal told me 20 mins so that's when I arrived but had to wait about 10 more minutes, which was fine. I took it home to eat and unfortunately my parents didn't care for it which was a bummer but I understood why. The pizza turned out soggy for some reason and hard to eat. I also had got the sweet monkey bread and it was not good at all. We all agreed it was so spongy and had a very weird texture. I am updating it now to 3 stars because I'm still trying other pizza places at the moment, and in all honesty dominos will always have my heart because it's fast, easy to order and delicious! I've read many of the reviews about the buffet being below standard and say what you will, but we love this place. They're much higher quality than your typical chain pizza places. I don't know how Pizza Hut or Dominoes have better ratings over these guys, but it is what it is. They've always gotten our order right, the toppings and pizzas are quality and their pull apart garlic knots are bomb. You might wait a little longer but given no one wants to work anymore, I'm sure they're having a hard time finding drivers. Garbonzo's is always our go to when we want some good, quality pizza and we will continue to support them. THEY DO NOT DO CUSTOM! First, the quality it good. The ingredients and dough are awesome (Best gluten free for delivery), but every time, EVERY TIME, I try to customize one of their pizzas (add or remove ingredients) they mess it up. This is especially frustrating since there a food allergies in my home. Tonight, he even repeated the order back and messed it up! Their prices are also higher than most places. Man, the holidays sure have been busy! If you live here in Boise, you know these past two weeks have been decimating our cul-de-sacs with snow. Well, for those of you stuck inside today, stay warm! For those who still find the drive to get out there and shovel some pepperoni-and-cheese bread in your face, we might have a recommendation... PizzaKen was the one to inform me of Garbonzo's, which he seemed to discover at their Ustick location in Meridian. I've since discovered that they have a few other locations, including one on Lake Hazel a bit closer to Boise, as well as Caldwell, Middleton, and New Plymouth locations. Quite the impressive franchise! Yet, I'd never heard about it growing up here. So is it a hidden paradise of pizza? Or is there a reason you haven't heard the name? Well, the interior of this particular location was cozy. At the counter, you can see all the pizza-making action happening. Similar to Santora's. It was impressive to see them hand-tossing the dough. We asked what's good and ended up going with a pie that included bbq sauce and chicken, and a pepperoni (of course). It took less than 20 minutes to arrive, and the staff were very friendly to talk to. And so: -The BBQ Chicken- Nice. You gotta love the sweet taste of a good bbq sauce, and the juicy chicken and crunchy onions. It reminded me of what we had with Chicago Connection, except that this time everything was done right. -The Pepperoni- Solid pizza all around. Nothing stuck out to me, although their crust was really light and golden. Probably comes from that hand-tossed care. -The Verdict- Garbonzo's is good. As far as we could tell, though, they didn't do much to stand too far apart from the crowd. However, they offer their pizza at an affordable price. A large pizza is gonna hit you for about $20, which is a bit on the cheaper end. The friendly staff and small, local atmosphere might be unique to Meridian's location, but it's definitely a happy plus. When you only have so much time for lunch before you have to get back for work, you don't want to wait 30 minutes for them to make pizzas from scratch. If you like a dingy dumpy pizza dive right behind a gas station this place is for you. Not much seating inside, and the tables they so have they do not seem to clean often. Salad bar is poor, not stalked, lettuce swimming. Kitchen is open and visible, so you get a great view of employees with questionable hygiene practices handling your food. We got the Chicago style pizza and it is terrible. The "pizza sauce" is gross and tastes like sugar was mixed in it. Stay away from this place. read more

I stumbled across this pizza place while doing some wireless testing in the area. When it came time to get some quick pizza's on a Sunday afternoon, I thought I would try this place. I ordered and got a great deal on two large pizzas. They were ready to go in around 15-20 minutes as promised. Opening the boxes at home, everyone thought the pizza's looked great. 10 minutes later we (one of them a picky 9 year old) agreed that this pizza was really good. Crust was great. Sauce was great. Excellent, traditional style pizza. The meats they use are fantastic, especially their thick-cut ham. My wife and I order from here frequently and have never been disappointed. Their lunch time buffet is a great deal: 6 bucks for all-you-can pizza and access to their stellar salad bar (and this coming from a fat guy who doesn't like salad). We also LOVE their parmesan garlic monkey bread and order that every time. The owner is a real nice guy. Always makes sure you're taken care of. Not bad, we had sausage and black olive. I would recommend to add some basil or garlic to the dough, it was a little bland, or at least give that as an option when you order. The crust was slightly doughy but the next day we put it in the oven and then it tasted a little better. I'd try it again but I think next time I'd order something with peppers on it. Took my family to lunch today, we all ordered the buffet. Well, they had two breadsticks, two pizza's with only a couple pieces left. So as we each had one, my husband had two, we waited for the gals to maybe cook some more, well they never did. One gal working had her friends show up and they ordered the buffet, she went and cooked them a pizza and they took the whole thing, then she went back into the back. We waited some more and they never set anymore out so we left. So we paid $6 each for 1 slice of pizza. We will never go back! read more

Good pizza/Bad service I'm new in town and decided to order some pizza for delivery while we unpack. Not knowing where to get the best slice around, I turned to Yelp to read reviews. Common theme with this place was while the pizza was good, the service was not so good. Took a shot and right out of the gate experienced the poor customer service. With my pizza I ordered something called "monkey bread". The menu online only lists one kind of "monkey bread"-garlic and parmesan. When the food arrives I open the "monkey bread" and find bread knots with cinnamon and frosting...... So I call back thinking I had mistakenly gotten something from another customer's order. Turns out there are two types of "monkey bread" and I ended up with something I didn't want. They offered to give us a free "monkey bread" the next time we ordered from them or would give us one now if WE DROVE THERE to pick it up!!!!! Are you kidding??! I've got hot pizza that you just delivered and I'm supposed to let it get cold driving to your restaurant to fix something you screwed up???!!! How in the world could we have known there was another kind of "monkey bread" if it's not listed on the menu??!!! It was their responsibility to clarify when they took the order. Not sure if the owner reads or cares about the reviews online..... Doesn't seem that way..... It's a shame because the pizza was pretty good. Had they just said "we'll make this right and bring you the garlic and parmesan in a few" they would've had a new long-time customer (and we have three kids so pizza is a staple in our home!). I can't say enough about the excellent customer service here. It was a long day and I put in an order for pizza tonight for pick up on my way home. Well.. I got to the Meridian location and they didn't have my order. No fault of theirs. Apparently when I was ordering tonight I somehow clicked Middleton. The gentleman came out to my car , and said no problem. We will make you a fresh pizza and work it out with our Middleton store. I was on the verge of tears for MY mistake, and he came up with a gracious plan to make me a pizza here. Thank you for being so wonderful! If you're a fan of pizza - you need to give these guys a try. They have a great not-too-thick, not-too-thin crust, good sauce and great toppings. I highly recommend anything with ham on it as they use a christmas-dinner-type ham instead of your normal canadian bacon-type ham. Delicious! If you like hot sandwiches -- you can't go wrong with the Great Garbonzo. It's been my favorite sandwich for more than 6 months (which never happens)! Do note though - it's not fast food. It can take 20 minutes+ if you have a custom pizza made so make sure you plan accordingly. Their location is hard to find (across the street from Chevron in the business center) but it's worth it. I can't believe how good their food is for how affordable their prices are. Can't go wrong! read more
