I ran up to Home Depot and purchased it (I had already read the reviews & had a strong recommendation from my brother) and Mike was able to send guys out to install the new one the same day. Today, October 22 and a week since that call, I got a call from a PRIVATE NUMBER and it was Keller, the service person saying he was there at the house and informing me of the service I needed. He also tried to upsell me on a new motor for the door opener, since this one was older. This did not sound like Mike from Apple Garage Doors so I asked him if he worked for Mike. He said no, Mike had retired and sold his business/phone number to ANYTIME GARAGE DOOR TX. We discussed the work, the price and I asked about payment since I knew nothing about this company and had not been informed about any of their terms. To make a long story short, it appears they will only take cash or credit cards, I called the office to see if they could take an ACH payment, Zelle or check, and to try to make some kind of arrangements so Keller could do the work he was out there to do, but no go. When I asked to speak to a manager about working something out I was told they were all in meetings and unavailable so we didn't get the work done. This company that has taken over Apple Garage Door does not have the same ethics that Mike had and I will never recommend them after the way they have represented themselves to me. Nothing about this was upfront, my work didn't get done, their service guy didn't get to do a job and the company is getting a negative review! What a waste of time all the way around. As a realtor I have clients asking for referrals for every type of business that is home related, I would NEVER recommend ANYTIME GARAGE DOOR TX to any of them and will let my Ebby Halliday associates know what their clients can expect from this poorly operated company.
