Service for a damaged single car aluminum garage door on a residential home. $600.00 charged over 5 years ago, January 2021. I'm just now posting this review, 5 years later, after having a reputable company service our 2 car and single car doors 2 weeks ago and finding out how Reliant ripped me off. Here's how they did it. Only panels, rollers, and drums replaced for $600.00. The service I just had done 2 weeks ago revealed all the old parts, including the worn out spring, were reused. The door ran rough and was heavy to open, poorly balanced, and the spring was torqued to its maximum causing a potential catastrophic failure. My advice is to request a full list of parts replaced and verify the work done. Raise and lower the door manually, checking the weight and the smoothness of operation. This technician knew how to rip us off. The receipt looked like a 10 year old designed it. Perhaps they're a better company now. read more

Our garage door is the main entrance and exit from our house. When we heard a bang and realized that our garage door spring had failed, we were trapped. It was late on a Saturday, but Reliant got us scheduled for Monday morning. The technician arrived before noon and was finished in record time. The rotary springs on garage doors are dangerous to work on. I'm very handy but this is a job for a professional. This is not the first time we have called Reliant. Great response. Great work. Reliant Overhead came through for me once again. We had two garage remotes that we needed replaced. I decided since Reliant Overhead had fixed my garage doors a few months ago and did such an awesome job I had to reach and see if they would possibly sell remotes. I spoke to Justin and he advised me they did sell remotes and I could come by their shop to pick them up or they could come out and program the remotes for me. Since their business is close to my work I decided to swing by and pick up the remotes. When I arrived Justin explained all I needed to do to program the remotes to work with my garage doors. Which was a very simple task. I could have ordered these items online or bought them from Home Depot but I prefer to do business always with small businesses and businesses that show dedication to their customers. BUYER BEWARE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Needed a simple spring broken. Service member (who they terminated 1-day after service) sold me on adding 2 springs when I only needed one. The next morning the garage came up too quickly and smashed into the drywall due to the additional force. I called the company and gave them 7 days to come out and fix the issue, without any results. After 7 days, I called and let them know it's taken too long and need it fixed immediately or will be contacting my bank to dispute the charge. Reliant Overhead Door's very friendly and helpful scheduler, Brittany, sent an expert technician, David, to evaluate my broken garage door opener. I was either scheduled the same day I called or I was scheduled the day after my call -- I can't remember which -- but suffice it to say that the scheduling was very convenient for me and so appreciated! David was likewise super friendly and helpful from the time I answered the door. He expertly diagnosed the problem and clearly presented several different options, to include repairing or replacing the unit. He also provided the pros and cons of each option, the costs of each option, and the features of the available replacement units. I chose the more expensive Chamberlain opener with the battery backup. David told me the next step down was a really great price point and very well-rated, if I'd rather go with that one, but I really wanted a few of the features that came with the more expensive model. David then set about installing the units right there on the spot! He was diligent and thorough, but efficient and timely, too. I was so pleased! It occurred to me while he was at my house that my son and daughter in law likewise had a few problems with their garage door and opener. David found some creative solutions to help my daughter in law out, and he headed to her house that very day, adjusted her wonky garage door and replaced her opener with the same unit I chose for my own home. She was so very pleased with him and his work! And so was I! (By the way, when we each lost power during that awful winter storm, we were both so happy that we had that battery backup!) David is an excellent communicator and he clearly knows the garage door business inside out. Over the weekend, a pre-existing issue with our garage door became exponentially worse and we had no choice but to have it repaired ASAP. We were concerned that needing service on a Saturday afternoon would not only be difficult to come by, but would also be expensive due to the short notice and nature of the repair. Our concerns were short-lived however, because the team at Reliant Overhead provided customer service that went well beyond our expectations. The dispatcher was sympathetic to our issue and was on top of scheduling an immediate repair, the technician who arrived (earlier than originally scheduled, awesome!) was professional and efficient, and we now have a fixed garage door that came at a reasonable repair cost. We had a roller break at the top of our door a few days ago. I called Reliant after another company cancelled our appointment last minute. Brandon came out after finishing another job and assessed our garage door quickly. He didn't oversell and explained exactly what he was going to do upfront. Roller replacement and adjusting the door alignment. I agreed on the price. All the supplies were on his truck, and he got started right away. After the work was completed, there were several checks and a few small readjustments. The door sounds like night and day. Seriously, soooo much quieter. I'm in awe of the difference. Reliant installed a garage door on my home approximately 10 months ago. Recently I realized the bracket, which held the garage door rail, only had one nut and bolt assembly instead of two as the other side did, therefore, only one nut and bolt assembly is holding the rail in place. I contacted Reliant and they stated that they would have someone come out and look at it which was satisfactory. A few days later I was contacted and I was told it was out of the 90-day warranty period and I would be charged for them to come out and look at it. In other words a service call. Reliant is a private entity and they can make their own rules, however, I am just trying to get what I paid for in the end nothing more. I paid Reliant 6k for the garage door and it's not unreasonable for me to expect that the door system has all of its fastners in place. Originally the door I chose was quoted at a price of $5100 and after I ordered the door I was informed that the door would be $900 more hence the 6k because of cost of goods and difficulty in constructing the wood door overlay. I did not argue and agreed to the price increase because again I'm not unreasonable and want people to be compensated for their time. With that said I am now having to go to Home Depot to purchase a nut and bolt assembly to now go and shore up my bracket I paid Reliant 6k already to do so. I am reasonable and I also want to be compensated for my time and it is unreasonable and a waste of my time to go do work that I paid someone else to already do. These guys were the best. Raul came out quickly after I called to do an assessment. He couldn't make the repairs that night, but was willing to stand and hold the garage door open himself, so I could at least get my car out. He was super friendly and took a ton of time to explain to me exactly what he was going to need to do to make the replacement (since the damage couldn't be repaired). He left a book with colors, styles and options. I called the main office and asked what doors they had in-stock. Fortunately, they had one that I liked in the color I needed, and so they offered to come out right away. I asked for windows to be installed, and they didn't even let it delay the process. They even came in slightly under estimate--and they were the lowest price quote we found. I couldn't recommend them more highly. read more

Reliant Overhead is a great company to work with. I submitted a request for a quote via Homeadvisor and got a call shortly after. On the call, I was given some ideas of what the issue might be and an explanation of how some of the basic parts worked. They came out a couple of hours later to look and give me an estimate. The cost to replace the springs was very reasonable. The work was done right then and there. I was also able to get some information for replacing the system down the line. Reliant was generous to offer me a military discount, and I am grateful for their service. The only thing is that they should tell you what they are charging BEFORE they fix the issue, so you can choose them or not, but I understand that they drove a distance, and required some sort of compensation for the travel. One of our garage doors came off the track and was bent badly. He was friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable about garage door fixtures, equipment, and mechanics. He was detailed in explaining the problem, the solution, and breakdown of the cost and estimate. After fixing my garage door, but prior to leaving, Chris again explained the work he had done, my warranty on each equipment, and gave me maintenence tips to prolong the longevity on my garage door. Had a technician from another garage door company come and basically bang on the side walls with a hammer after the garage door fell off the tracking. Also was told my motor was broken and needed to be replaced. Turns out i was just being made to be taken advantage of. This company actually fixed this issue. Had a tech come out and diagnose my problem perfectly he took his time and and did the door right super friendly guy but when he quoted me a price it was for $189.00 which I assumed was for the complete job when it came time to pay the price all of a sudden jumped to $270. I highly recommend Reliant Overhead Door Company. Moe and Justin were extremely helpful. After I called regarding the breakage of my Garage Door opener they sent out a technician named Raul. He was quite pleasant and had the new opener installed within an hour.(I believe the opener was Guardsman). Within 3-4 days the new opener was not working correctly so they sent out Raul with another new opener. The problem was that the door would only open about 24 inches and then would stop. I would have to touch the remote switch 5 or 6 times before the door would fully open. (Guardsman). Within another 3-4 days the second opener was not working correctly. Russ who I think was the owner came out and inspected the opener and saw what was happening.(Evidently a bad batch got released from the manufacturer). Russ told me he would have another installer out by noon. Sure enough the installer showed up with an upgrade to a LiftMaster opener and installed it. Russ told me there would be no charge for the upgrade or any trip charges. I have had the new LiftMaster working perfectly for the last two weeks. It is so refreshing to have a company stand by their product and also their work. I am most pleased with Reliant Overhead and will use them again for other projects. Gary L. read more
