We had the power go out in half of our house on a holiday. I reached out to Gonzalo and he contacted me timely. He was out at my house the next morning and diagnosed the problem. I had to have PG&E come out and pull the meter from my main panel. The main breaker for the house had a melt down, literally. Gonzalo made an attempt to find the parts to replace it, but it was over 30 years old. He had to replace the entire main panel which involved opening the stucco wall and installing the new panel that was 3 times the size of the original. Mind you, the entire time he was doing this work we had no power to the house. He was able to get the entire job completed in 8 hours. He had a person out the next day to repair the stucco and pulled the permit. He walked the inspector around and preemptively made a few repairs that he knew the inspector would check. He did those for no additional charge. We passed on the first inspection. He was responsive during the entire project and kept me informed of everything that was going on. Not impressed. Contacted for a quote. Got the quote and a request to call and schedule a visit. I replied asking for the rationale, assumptions behind the quote. I got a reply with a high-level explanation and a "good luck" wish. I asked for a site visit and a firm quote. I got a reply stating they are too busy. Conclusion: don't ask for the details behind the quote. read more

Called him up a few weeks later when another outlet that blew out impacted the one he worked on. He addressed it within days, and also fixed some grounding problems that existed there as well. I am so happy that we found Gonzalo at GAP Electric and couldn't be more impressed with his work. We faced a challenge in needing a new dedicated circuit for our soon-to-arrive double wall oven and the old one could not support the new appliance. Gonzalo was able to find an available spot in our main panel to get creative with a new breaker setup and then ran over 100 feet of high-quality copper wire to the kitchen. We have a split level house without an attic and Gonzalo embraced the challenge and succeeded. His work is top notch, all exposed wire is secured inside metal conduit and it looks incredibly professional (much better than whoever did the previous electrical work, by a landslide). Additionally, he installed new GFCI outlets all over our kitchen and bathroom to alleviate our safety concerns with the old ones. He came when he said he would, finished the job on time and also took the time to help me understand the many intricacies of our house wiring. Fast and accommodating. We had several light fixtures that we wanted to replace and also added recess lighting. They were efficient and did dry wall patchwork as well after installation. Definitely recommend Gonzalo for electrical work!!! He recently upgraded my old Federal Pacific main panel outside and subpannel iside the house. He also dealt with all the permits and inspections to make sure we have power right away and managed the installation and upgrade with the city inspector. I can't recommend Gonzalo and his crew highly enough, but I will try to count the ways.... My wife and I just bought our first house and needed a full rewire/upgrade of the main electrical panel. We also had him add in some new recessed lights, outlets, and outdoor motion-sensor activated flood lights. Since we were new to this whole home ownership thing, we were a bit nervous to be spending a big chunk of $ on a contractor, given all that could potentially go wrong. Unlike some other electricians, he wasn't condescending when speaking to us about what we wanted. We wanted an ostensibly over-sized electrical panel in case we ever want to add a hot tub or EV or simply so that its an additional asset when we eventually sell the house. Some electricians scoffed at this and said "you don't need that, that's overkill" and wouldn't listen to us. His response was always "No problem" and indeed, that's how he was during the whole process, nothing was a problem for him. His quoting process was straightforward and fair and he includes the drywall work in his quote, something a lot of electricians don't do. He was on schedule (can't say the same for PG&E, but he has no control over that), which was great since we really wanted the electrical work to be completed before we moved in. I booked an appointment with Gonzalo to come and check my breaker that was tripping. He messaged me about his expected time of arrival and made it exactly on time. He checked the breaker and recommended initially for a replacement. He explained to me the cost factor of the job. He said he would do a test first and decide on the course of action. He was able to locate the problem from the test he conducted and found the breaker might not be at fault considering my usage. HUGE shout out to Gonzalo! We lost power to half of our house' electrical outlets, switches and fixtures. This happened out-of-the-blue with no warning. Frantic, I called GAP Electric and no sooner did I finish leaving a voicemail did I receive a text asking if he could call later. He called back in a minimum amount of time and offered to swing by t have a look and do some troubleshooting. Afterward, he explained the possible scenarios as to why we lost power but explained it would require further investigation. It was dark out by this time and we agreed he'd come by the next day. Mind you, he did not charge a penny for coming out initially to troubleshoot which floored me! The next day (today) he came out and within 2.5 hours, we were up and running and the cost was extremely reasonable. Plus personally, he is very pleasant in his demeanor and I found him to be very trustworthy. I will definitely be going back to Gonzalo for all of our electrical servicing needs.
