I had a rather difficult electrical issue and Gonzalo was extremely professional and responsive throughout the call. It was a short notice call for a difficult job, but he was able to take it right away and without much issues. I will note he only takes CASH or CHECK, but he is willing to work with you if you need to run to the bank to grab the cash for his services which are well worth it. Stay away from this guy. No corona precautions. Trying to walking in to the our home with dirty shoes. When we said put a cover on his shoes he blew up and started to yelling at us front of the 3 years old kids they got scared and cried. He is so rude. He left he said that he doesn't have a time for this and left. If he got no time why he came in at the first place. Also he mention he charges no matter $250 an hour. I told him for a second and wait, but he walked in to the house as soon as I turn my back. I didn't give him a permission to come in. I don't know how this guy gets 5 stars. Suspicious! He said that coming in 5 minutes and came in 20 minutes later and Just step in the our home without any permission. What I liked about GAP Electric is that Gonzalo is not only the person providing the estimate, but also the person doing the work. I have greater confidence when I know the company owner is doing the work himself. When I requested a quote through yelp, with a detailed scope of work, he was the only one to provide an estimate through yelp. All others needed a site visit. I did have Gonzalo come out and provide a written estimate, and then scheduled him for installation a week later. He and his son installed recessed lighting in my living room and ceiling lights in the bedrooms. They did a great job and we are loving how much brighter the rooms are. I was replacing a ceiling fan/light fixture with a new LED light fixture and low and behold, discovered that the ceiling fixture was not controlled by the light switch in the room. I am helping owners get the house ready to be sold and was under a time constraint to get this fixed. I reached out to Gonzalo, shared my dilemma, and that I couldn't wait 2 to 3 weeks to get the problem resolved. Gonzalo from GAP Electric just finished installation of an interlock switch on the main power panel with a 50 amp 240V inlet box for my portable generator if the power goes out for a prolonged period of time.  Since he did such a nice job,  I asked if he could install a 60 amp 240V plug in the garage for an electric vehicle charging system. Excellent customer service. Fast response for a electrical outlet that hasn't worked in my bathroom for a very long time - time to get them fixed! He tried to help me over the phone and suggested I trouble shoot certain area's first by checking all the CFU's in the home as well as the breaker box. $200 "Free Estimate" Gonzalo showed up for a FREE ESTIMATE to look at why my pool pump mysteriously stopped working. As I stood by, he spent a few minutes in the pool house looking at the breakers/wiring and then went to his car to get some tools. Unbeknownst to me, he had clearly figured out what was wrong (blown breaker) and simply moved the wire to another unused working switch. And viola, the pool pump was working again...but then he tried to CHARGE ME $200! What happened to the FREE ESTIMATE?! Call me crazy but, you cannot show up under the guise of a free estimate and then start doing work that will cost money without the ADVANCED APPROVAL OF THE COST FROM YOUR CUSTOMER. He could see that I was shocked that he had done this without consulting me, so he quickly knocked it down to $150 (to move a wire). I begrudgingly paid it and I will never use GAP Electric again. Had he just been honest and said "it's an easy fix, this breaker is bad, just move this wire here, I can do it for you right now, just give me $50" or whatever, and I would have been appreciative and agreed. He then went on to recommended upgrading the breaker box and wiring, which I agree is needed, plus I have lots more electrical projects (new hot bub, landscaping lights, etc.) where he could have made thousands of dollars but again, I will never use GAP Electric again. Service Industry 101: YOU MUST GET YOU CUSTOMER'S ADVANCE APPROVAL BEFORE YOU DO ANY WORK THAT WILL COST THEM MONEY. A FREE ESTIMATE SHOULD BE FREE. Fool me once. read more

Gonzalo Amador just finished installing an EV charger in the garage, a panel upgrade to handle the new circuit for the EV charger and moved my shutoff breaker for the hot tub. Gonzalo was neat, professional and did a fantastic job for significantly less than the other electricians. What made my day was when we got the electricity going for the hot tub Gonzalo stayed, looked over the circuitry and found the wire in the hot tub's control panel that had worked its way loose.
