I would say 4 rating but leaving a 5 stahhh because the service was indeed Pho-nomenal like another yelper had said. The owner (whom I presume is the owner) was SUPER inviting and always has suggestions. Glad his beautiful establishment is on the south shore we need more spots like this. We ordered the pork chop rice plate and the pork rib / 3 protein pho. Now how i would describe i is a "healthier" version of the dish in taste, others may think it's a tad on the lighter/blander side for the broth compared to home cooked or other competitors. Meat was fall off the bone tender. They have a house blend fish sauce and accommodating side dips per dish. He'll let you know the best way to eat the dish if you're not sure. The rice dish, the porkchop was massive and cooked perfectly! Enjoyed it very much! My rice (i should have probably opted for the broken rice but i chose regular white rice, which I believe was older rice, a bit clumpy/hard. The side soup pairs well with the dish so i appreciate that a lot. They also brought us tea which was perfect on a rainy day! Overall I'll definitely be back. Different take, i appreciate the lighter style of viet cooking, but many probably know it for its bold flavors. Pricing is on the higher end of the spectrum but you do get your portions worth for the money. Viet food i believe should cost more compared to some of their counterpart asian cuisines! Beautiful dishes should get the spot light.

After so many of our favorite Vietnamese restaurants closed, we've found it super hard to find one that really hits the spot. We decided to see if there were any we haven't tried yet and ended up visiting Ganh Pho for a quick lunch. Ganh Pho in Braintree has a bunch of authentic dishes you'd typically find at most Vietnamese spots, like pho, bun bo hue, banh mi, rice plates, and vermicelli bowls but they definitely put a lil twist to it here. The restaurant itself is modern & got a cozy feel inside. Something that I thought was cool was that they offer a create-your-own option for pho & banh mi. I originally wanted to try the Ganh Pho bowl, which is essentially Pho Dac Biet but with pork ribs ($30). When ordering, the owner suggested I try a custom pho bowl with yellow egg noodles, brisket, beef ribs, shrimp, and bok choy ($26?). And that if I didn't like it, it would be on the house hahaha. I was convinced to try it & he told me to specifically eat the shrimp w/ the pickled onions it came with on the side & dip the meat in the sate sauce along w/ some hoisin. It was definitely a different experience and something that I would typically make & eat at home. Flavors are light but well balanced... not necessarily a bad thing! If you like your food more flavorful, then this might not be for you. The pho broth did not have much depth and would've probably tasted richer if we came for dinner. I personally enjoyed the meal because I do tend to enjoy lighter flavors, so definitely a preference thing. We also ordered the pork chop rice plate & similar to the CYO Pho, it was much lighter in flavor compared to other Vietnamese restaurants around but still thought it was tasty. Light in flavor and I would say, tastes healthy & we felt GOOD after finishing eating! None of the food felt heavy at all, so I enjoyed it. Prices are a little steep, again compared to other Vietnamese restaurants around but we were satisfied with our meal, so not so bad. The service was also very good! Super attentive, helpful, & gave good suggestions on what we should order. Complimentary tea too! This was more of a 4 star for food but because of the service, we will give it a 5. Parking: free parking lot in the back!

Such a cute and cozy Vietnamese restaurant located in Braintree! Ganh Pho is perfect for if you want to sit down and enjoy a meal but also if you want to grab something to go. I love how it's set up; their counter is built for a quick take out order with tables in the back for a typical dine-in experience. I got their rice with grilled pork which came with a side of soup. Their soup was delicious -- super rich and flavorful, but not too heavy at the same time. Their grilled pork was good as well, but the nuoc cham (their house fish sauce) was terrific to pair with the meat. The pork was a little dry but overall very tasty. I would come back for their pho since I thought their soup was so good! I can imagine that their pho broth is probably just as good. Parking is a breeze here since they have their own lot. I recommend giving Ganh Pho a try for some good Viet food! Although a bit pricier than other Viet places, it's worth giving them a taste.

Today, i went to Ganho Pho and had this ganh pho beef spare rib soup. It is excellent. It contains two big spare rib, beefs and beef tripes...the broth is so tasty...i was not able to finish it so took home for dinner. Highly recommended this place for anyone!!!

I've seen this place on social media and always wanted to try this place. This past weekend was my time! We were in the area and decided to try it. There is plenty of street parking outside, and this place is not far from the South Shore mall. The restaurant is clean and there is one gentleman that operates the dining area and handles take out orders. He is super friendly and checks in on you to ensure all is well throughout your stay. The menu is pretty limited but you're coming to this place for pho. They have a special one called Ganh Pho, and this $25 bowl of pho comes with 2 tender pieces of beef ribs! We ordered 3 bowls. The ribs are cooked perfectly and are easy to eat - just grab the bone and go at it. The portion size is good with lots of noodles and other meats. The broth comes out hot and has good flavor. The flavor is not over powering, but just right for this dish. Everything that you need is already at the table - sauces, chop sticks, napkins. The guy also brews hot tea at the front counter and he is quick to give refills without you asking. The restaurant is clean and there were about 11 tables inside. The area is pretty open so I'd imagine that if they had to, they could rearrange things to accommodate larger groups (with appropriate planning). The menu is not huge, but I did see the traditional rice plate with pork chops, and fresh/fried rolls available as well. There are some drink offerings, too. If you're a pho lover and you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by and get the signature Ganh Pho! You'll love it. I can't wait to go back.

The restaurant have an inviting vibe and the server was attentive and welcoming. I got the ganh pho bowl and it was huge. The broth could use more star anise and cinnamon though. The beef brisket was a little chewy but the meatballs and tripe were tender. They are generous with the bean sprouts, jalapeño and herbs. Also got Vietnamese iced coffee that was a little too sweet for my taste. Plenty of parking in the back and front street parking.

The server was incredibly nice to us and attentive. I got the beef back rib pho, which I really enjoyed and was a nice change of pace from the typical pho that I get. The spring roll that we got was good as well. It wasn't busy on a holiday weekend during dinner hours, so it was nice and quiet. This is a solid place and I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in the area.

The pho and banh mi were both delicious! A little on the pricier side than other restaurants for the more or less same size but still a really tasty meal. My banh mi was a little on the saltier side but the pho was very yummy. Next time I will definitely get the pho again, it was so tasty and comforting. I also LOVED the cilantro on both dishes. The biggest factor for the five stars was the service. Our waiter went above and beyond for us which turned this casual lunch into such a pleasant memory. My boyfriend got the pho and it's part of my girlfriend duties to always steal a little bit of his food, our waiter noticed me taking sips and immediately brought over a second bowl for easier sharing. Our water was always full and he would check in sometimes to make sure we didn't need anything else. The service was such a pleasant addition to the Braintree day.

Exceptional service, I took my wife and 3 kids there and our server went out of his way to ensure that the kids were completely satisfied with their choices and even allowed my girls to split a dish at no extra cost. Id put this up there in the conversation with any PHO place I've ever been and I've been to a lot. Absolutely excellent pho broth. The sate was interesting, a bit of citrus to it which I haven't seen before, but still excellent nonetheless. Definitely worth a trip for the Beef PHO if nothing else. Definitely cracking my top 5 in New England. read more

Ordered through UberEat with 50% off, $1 off with delivery promotion, and received a free item for spending $20. Total cost $37.68 including service fee, delivery fee, and temporary local fee. The packaging was awesome. I ordered Sugarcane Shrimp (Chạo Tôm), Bánh Mì cold cuts (Thịt nguội), Beef Noodle Soup with Vegetables (Phở Chay) Regular (Thờng), Fried Egg Rolls (Chả Giò) Regular (3 rolls), and Beef Noodle Soup with Special Beef Combination (Phở Đặc Biệt). Sugarcane shrimp was okay but lack of shrimp taste and the sweet fish sauce had no taste. Bánh Mì with cold cuts had the right amount of veggies and cold cuts. The bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. But I wish they don't sprinkle black pepper on it. The beef noodle with vegetables that I got for free was okay, but I would not pay $12.95 for it. The beef noodle soup with a special beef combination definitely not worth $16.95. the soup tastes good, not oily and salty. The fried egg roll had too much black pepper in it, you can't taste any pork, shrimp, taro, and the thin vermicelli. I tried it with the sweet fish sauce to covered up the black pepper taste but again, their sweet fish sauce had no taste. Overall, the price for some items on their menu is steep compared to other Pho restaurants in Dorchester and Quincy area. If you prefer a strong flavor with the seasoning of black pepper, I would recommend this place. I personally preferred food with less seasoning, especially I don't like black pepper. I think when seasoning with black pepper lead me to think ingredients are not fresh, trying to cover up the smell or taste. read more

We love this place, 10000 ours favorite Vietnamese restaurant , ever. I discovered this place since they opening a year ago. Pho - amazing Bun Bo Hue - the best healthy Shaking beef- a must try. I dream about the sauce and the rice. All of their Com dishes/ rice dishes are awesome. The stir fried flat noodles and veggies are excellent and fresh if you are vegan or vegetarian. Great flavor. They all good most of the items on the menu. Their shakes are great. Love Mango and Avocado smoothie. I meet the manager, she is very nice lady. Very cares about the food and the restaurant .she is very pleasant and professional. Support local small business! read more

I have been living in Braintree and have tried all three restaurant at this location. I don't remember the first one. It was not as good as this one. The second one I believe was Pho Paris. It was not good. For this Ganh Pho, my 3rd try. It was ok. Both of the vermicelli noodles and chicken wings are ok but not as good as the Vietnamese restaurant I had in Pho89 in Randolph. The chicken wing is not too dry but it's tasteless(probably wasn't marinated long enough?) Make sure you ask the price before you place the order because the owner updated the menu but they carry the old menu with the old price. read more

Price is a little steep here for Vietnamese food. Having spent my whole life in Dorchester where all the Vietnamese food are... I know my Vietnamese food and sometimes I hate how the prices can be a little over the top. With that said... a XL pho bowl for $17. I think I'll pass unless the broth is liquid gold.. :D My husband ordered pho tai & bo vien (beef & meatballs). The broth was a lot more fatty as you can see the oily layer on the top layer. We skimmed it off ourselves. I got the bun bo cha (this is just with shrimp paste). It was pretty good but didn't come with the traditional vegetables, I.e., banana leaves or some restaurant so the thinly sliced cabbage. It's the little things that counts! But again, if you never eat Vietnamese food then you would never know. The place and staff were nice and everything seem clean. Touch less payment at the end. read more

We ordered a couple of items for carryout, fried rice and 10 pieces spring roll. Unfortunately they forgot to put our dipping sauce in, which would have made these tasty spring rolls otherwise pretty bland. My wife called them back to complain, and they not only drove over to deliver the dipping sauce, they courteously gave us two complimentary Thai iced teas. That's very thoughtful and the service deserves five stars for an otherwise honest mistake. read more

I hesitated to order Pho thru Grub Hub but I was alone at work one day and couldn't leave so I gave it a shot. WOW. Everything was packaged separately so as to still be fresh on arrival. I got a spicy broth with pork and shrimp dumplings, it was so good that I kept eating long after I was full. 10/10 would order again. read more

I don't ever write reviews but I specifically came on here to give Ganh Pho 5++ Stars. I recently discovered this place about a month back and have ordered atleast once a week since! Their Pho is DELICIOUS! I've been ordering delivery and their packaging is perfect and the broth always arrives super hot! I've tried many pho deliveries in the past and they never arrive hot or easy to prepare. Ganh pho's soup arrives easy to put together & tastes as if you are eating it right in the restaurant. I highly recommend this place but I do warn- you will get hooked!!!! read more

Update: too add insult to injury, the owner thanked me for trying them out. But, even after seeing the disgusting pic of food they should NOT be selling and forcing people to try to eat (at 16.95 mind you), no offer of another chance to make it right. In fact, they wouldn't even acknowledge my dissatisfaction. The pic clearly shows that I did not receive 'grilled chicken over white rice', in fact I'm not sure if it's even chicken. Look at the pic! Get giftcard from work for Uber Eats. Order food from new Pho restaurant. Sit waiting for an hour and a half while page says "They're preparing your order!" Call restaurant. "Oh yeah, your order's been here for an hour just sitting. There's nothing we can do about it." Hang up in disgust and go to cancel. WOW! MAGICALLY, THE STATUS CHANGES TO "WAITING FOR PICKUP" AND AN UBER DRIVER APPEARS ON THE MAP! Realize Ganh Pho never told Uber the food was ready and let my order just sit there. Get cold food that should be hot, and warm food that should be cold. (Oh, and the driver never texted me to let me know the food was there, but that's on Uber, not the restaurant.) Well, I'll just be ordering from every other pho place around here then I guess, instead of the one less than a block away. read more

I had frequented the prior pho shop that was at this exact location. I'm really hoping that Ganh Pho is able to weather the storm and make it through these tough times. I will start off with saying that their contactless method of takeout was very efficient and safe throughout the whole process. I called in, he gave me a call back when the food was ready (~20 mins), and brought it right out curbside. I cannot wait for when things return to normal and I can try out their food hot and fresh in-house. I ordered nem cuon (grilled pork patty spring rolls), cha gio (fried egg rolls), and mi quang. I enjoyed the fresh flavor of the pickled daikon and carrot and the crunch of the fried egg roll wrapper inside the nem cuon. While the portion of the cha gio was plentiful (came with 3 in the smallest order), I did not like the texture so much as it was very mushy. May be a fluke with this particular batch, so I'll willing to try them again. I really enjoyed the mi quang. This seems to be a special for this week, but was definitely already a favorite of mine since it reminds of good home cooking. It has wide rice noodles that are yellowed with turmeric, served with minimal broth that is super concentrated with flavor, and fresh herbs and ground peanuts. You can typically order this with chicken, pork, or shrimp (+ medium boiled egg), but the guy over the phone hooked me up with all 3 proteins. I knew this was the authentic stuff because they even packed a toasted sesame cracker portion, which you break into smaller bits and mix into the noodles. The flavor was great, so I would definitely order again. I am very excited to try out their pho and bun bo hue the next time I order! Ganh Pho is amazing! It's been a while since I had food Pho, let alone one for take out, and they did a wonderful job at making sure we had everything we would've gotten in person while making the everything really easy to put together outside of the restaurant. The wait time was super short as well (only 10 minutes) and the staff was very nice. I got the beef brisket pho (extra large) and the brisket was delicious, the broth was incredible and the portions were very good for the price. Even with some help I couldn't finish the whole bowl! My partner also got the Chicken BanhMi which was also very delicious and well seasoned. The bread was nice and crispy on the outside while soft on the inside - exactly what you want from a great BanhMi! In total everything only came to about $23 ($7.45 for the BanhMi and $14.95 for the extra large Pho) which is a really great deal for what we got! Highly recommend this place and that you give it a try! read more

First - I have to say the customer service was beyond expectation and greatly appreciated. Food was actually really flavorful, cooked perfectly, and abundant portions. From my experience UberEats had dropped the ball and left my order at the restaurant for over an hour. The restaurant called me directly, got the situation fixed without help from UberEats. Update! I've gotten takeout from Ganh Pho three more times in the last month and every time has been a 5 star experience! I highly recommend the special rice cooked in clay pot with seafood and the steak & tendon pho has consistently had more than 7 pieces of large tendon (sooo good). I ordered a plate (stir fried tofu, pepper and lemongrass) and what I received was totally off. My friend is Vietnamese, I always eat the food his family makes, I ordered as with covid I couldn't eat their food. I m so disappointed in the food. The food here is okay and the place is cute, but pay attention because they nickel and dime for everything!!! Pay $18 for grilled pork chop entree that at all 10,000 other Thai restaurants sever with rice and a fried egg... this place charges and extra $3 for that egg.... Ordered a smoothie for myself & my boyfriend... took one sip of mine and didn't like it, the kid making it tried it too and said the milk made it taste weird to him too. I asked if I couldn't order something else..... and he charged me for a 3rd drink!!! Nuts especially considering he confirmed it tased weird hisself and I tipped him 1/2 the cost of a smoothie just to make my take my takeout order!!!! History

Established in 2020.

GANH PHO The popularization and origins of the modern Pho stemmed from the intersection of several historical and cultural factors in the early 20th century. These include the higher availability of beef due to French demand, which in turn produced beef bones that were purchased by Chinese workers to make into a dish similar to Pho called "ngu nhục phấn". The demand for this dish was initially the greatest with workers sourced from the Provinces of Yunnan and Guangdong, who found affinity to the dish due to its similarities to that of their homeland, which eventually popularized and familiarized this dish with the general population. Pho was originally sold at dawn and dusk by roaming street vendors, who shouldered mobile kitchens on carrying poles (Gánh Phở). From the pole hung two wooden cabinets, one housing a cauldron over a wood fire, the other storing noodles, spices, cookware, and space to prepare a bowl of Pho. The heavy gánh was always shouldered by men.
