Hard to find records and other artifacts. The staff certainly knows a lot about what they have, and will help find something. As in places like this, the music is the main thing of course. It has a lot to look through. They, as the name implies, specialize in vinyl. Great place to find more popular artists. Or more obscure. Also despite the name they also have other forms of music such as CDs. These like the records also are obsolete so might as well have these. Has a big collection of new and old items. It seems most people come in and just look around, but some people actually buy something. The main thing is the vinyl.

I originally stopped in because it was recommended by Pinwheel Records, and I'm really glad I did. The shop has an incredible selection and the staff was extremely knowledgeable. Drew especially was fantastic to talk with. I asked about local Chicago music and he immediately had great recommendations and insight into the scene. One of the coolest things about the shop is that 606 has its own label, and I was able to pick up a limited release of Balance: A Compilation Without Boundaries -- featuring artists with parallels to the city of Chicago, experimenting sonically & balanced with music.  You can tell this place genuinely cares about music discovery and supporting artists. Definitely worth a stop if you're digging around Chicago for records beyond the usual mainstream finds. I was traveling and like Pinwheel, 606 was also able to ship my purchases home for me. Shops like this proved to me the Chicago music scene is extremely vibrant!

That wasn't a problem. I asked if there would be an itemized list to show what I'd get paid for the items and the employee said that there would be a large printout showing this. After 3 hours they finally finished and there was no list like they said. I couldn't get a straight answer on what I would be getting paid for the items individually. The selling process should be more transparent. I was in a rush since it was only supposed to take an hour and a half. The sell prices are worse than game stop. I would never go there again. Instead of actually checking, he led me to a section that I already knew was incorrect. I went along with it briefly to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it quickly became clear he wasn't interested in helping. Without making any effort to search or verify, he simply said they didn't have the item. He then brought over another employee who immediately backed him up rather than attempting to locate the item or provide any real assistance. This was a stark contrast to my past experiences at the Orland Park location, where employees were helpful, looked items up on their computers, and were able to locate plenty of what I was searching for. Unfortunately, the lack of effort and professionalism at this location has cost them a long-time customer. I will not be returning.

It seems as though for some collectibles they just go on eBay and see what it sells for in order to price the items, which is unfortunate because some items are priced WAY above what they should be. Considering that there aren't a lot of brick and mortar shops around here for collectibles, and retro games, you're left with either scouring the interwebs for what you're looking for, or pay the Disc Replay price. All in all, maybe retro 90's merch trends will die down so that the prices will go down, but not likely any time soon.

My nephew wanted to check out this record store in Plainville (Chicago suburbs). It's a cool shop especially for collectors. There are amazing imports from various countries. There are all genres to be found from decades past to today (Ie. Taylor Swift and other current artists.) There are records, cassettes, CD, and even 8 track tapes! You can even purchase some artist related merch like t-shirts. If you don't have a record player, I believe I saw one for sale in the front. Our fam was welcomed into the store by someone working on the sales floor. Great visit (all the way from California!) and great vibes. Left 'Round is 4 stars!

Wow! My son asked if we could visit a record store and an online search brought us here. I…read moreliterally stood in awe for minutes, taking it all in. I cannot imagine the time involved with organizing and sorting. To say it's impressive is a huge understatement! My son found a few records he'd been searching for, and I bought quite a few. Prices were more than fair and we were given a generous discount at time of purchase. It was fascinating to see so much out there that was new to me. Who knew? There's definitely something here for everyone, but without a doubt our highlight was in meeting the man behind this incredible music store, Ron. It's clear to see his passion for music, and I don't believe there will ever be another place like the one he's created. We spent 4hr flipping through records, and Ron offered to check inventory for anything specific we were unable to find. I was shocked he was able to electronically file this amount of inventory, especially when he knew he had one copy, not yet properly placed on the floor, of a record I wanted. He helped search and kept telling me "if it says I have one, I have one." I finally gave up and told him I'll leave it in God's hands. Five seconds later, Ron shouts "look what I found!" He got a giant hug from me and I told him he's My Hero. (He laughed and said it was luck.) There aren't enough people like Ron left in this world, and if you don't get out and meet him I can assure you it's your loss. I bought everything from Sinatra to Night Ranger and I praise Ron again for finding the Bryan Adams album I had my heart set on finding. I've got two sons with me today and we're currently taking the hour drive out to visit Ron and hopefully buy some records. I've told everyone I know about this amazing place and the man that left me smiling. My mom reminded me people aren't around forever, and said I'd better get out to see him again or I'll regret it because he sounds like a TRUE GEM. GO. BE IN AWE OF THE SHEER VOLUME. SEARCH.FIND.BUY.
