Poor customer service. My husband and I walked in and were neither greeted nor given any direction…read moreon where to check in for the range. When we asked about a membership, we were rudely told we would have to pay for multiple fees plus the membership ($114 + $50), with no clear explanation. Despite this, we decided to stay and shoot. Later, we asked another employee about the membership, and he took the time to explain it thoroughly and encouraged us to sign up. He then asked another employee to help us with the signup and refund what we had been incorrectly charged. That employee was polite and genuinely tried to help, even asking for assistance from the GM. Unfortunately, instead of being helped, another employee stepped in with an attitude and stated that the membership cost was non-negotiable and that we would still be paying essentially the same amount, minus $5.41. He spoke as if we weren't even standing there. Shortly after, another employee joined with the same dismissive attitude and offered no help. We thanked the one employee who was kind and professional but ultimately decided not to sign up for the membership. I did not appreciate the negative attitudes and unwelcoming environment created by the majority of the staff. If this is how new customers are treated, we will not be returning and will be sharing our experience with others

Before shopping with them I would buy my suppressors at 219, they are very nice and helpful.. 219 would always give me a copy of my tax stamp before I left with my NFA items. I thought this was an industry standard. Anyway when I was picking up my suppressor I asked, "hey can I get a copy of the tax stamp?" The guy behind the counter says no, but if I call the ATF they can send one to me. He also told me I could print one out at home on my own printer... I asked again nicely and telling him I don't own a printer. Again, push back. No we don't do that here he says. Very nicely for the last time I ask and reminding him I don't own a printer. He takes one step over to his printer and makes me a copy that only took him 5 seconds to complete. I thanked him for his time and left with my item. Before leaving he told me I should stop at Walmart and pick up a printer so I don't "have this problem again"... since then I've been back once for warranty work, I asked them to send it out. I was charged a transfer fee. That seemed unnecessary because I wasn't transferring anything, it was an AR upper. Yes I understand I could have taken it to the post office instead but I wanted to give them another chance. This is the closest gun shop near my home and sadly I don't think I want to go back

Communications were handled via email and everything went as smooth as it could. Bernadette and Jeff are some of the friendliest people that I've met in this community and I will certainly be doing business with them again in the future. One thing to note - some FFL's will start the waiting period at the time of sale as described by the Illinois State Police as it relates to gun sales and transfers. Some FFL's will start the waiting period as soon as you fill out the Form 4473. It's neither here nor there as to who is doing this correctly but at the end of the day, your FFL policies is what you end up following. North American Firearms starts the clock upon filling out the 4473 so just keep this in mind. Best bet is to make the online purchase, head over to fill out the 4473, and by the time your firearm is received by them your background check should be clear and you're good to go.
