I found a bag I liked in the store that was at the upper limit of the price point I was looking for, especially since the bag was worn in places. When the cashier rang it up, it was more expensive than the tag read (it's worth mentioning that their bags have two tags, a hang tag on the strap near the hanger and a detailed tag stuffed in the bag somewhere that usually takes the cashier a bit to find). I pointed out the price discrepancy, and was curtly told that the price inside is the one that counts. I wasn't willing to pay more it, and told her I'd have to pass at that price, and thanked her anyway. I offered to put the bag back on the rack. She told me I was out of luck because they had a no return policy. I had not completed my purchase and reminded her of this. She said there was no way to cancel a card that she'd already swiped. I realize I should not have given her my card until she told me the price, but wasn't concerned at the time. She said that my credit card had been charged and that I could take the bag or not, she didn't care. I told her that she could either cancel the card or that I could do a chargeback on my credit card, which shouldn't be a problem since I had not authorized the charge. She told me that if I didn't sign, it was fraud. I asked if she was going to cancel the charge or if I needed to call my credit card company. She was pissed, but reversed the charge (the thing she'd told me repeatedly that she couldn't do). As mentioned in other reviews the staff is RUDE, uppity, mean girls kind of rude. Reality check! You work in a used clothing store in Kankakee county, not Some Beverly Hills boutique. Second when you turn clothes in, and meet with their approval, you are on your own. You must remember to check back and see if they sold it, and hope they were honest when they said they didn't and when you look for it it's gone. There is no record of it, so they could of sold it or "donated " it. For purchase there are a few nice things, but nothing you couldn't find at the Goodwill store down the road. read more

Yes, they are upscale, but the staff is so rude. Both times I have dealt with this store to bring in my nice clothing (express, american eagle, etc) they treat me like crap, nag me about how I should bring in my OWN hangers. Really? Get a grip, I shouldn't have to provide resources for you; I'm already providing your product. For those looking to purchase clothing from this store: I personally do not shop here, but they do have a wide selection of stylish clothing (none of that stereotypical thrift shop nonsense going on here). read more

I found several things that I liked and ended up buying for good prices. The downside is the staff..... WOW.... they need a crash course in Friendliness!! The girl checking me out didn't even reply when I said "Thank you, Have a nice day"... seriously. No "Thank You." No "you have a good day too" .. She snubbed me! ICK!!!!!! This is a decent upscale thrift store and worth checking out once in awhile. I have found two or three pairs of Silver jeans here for less than $15. Silver's are the best fitting women jeans out there and they retail for $80-100 at the Buckle, Carson's or Maurice's. Sequels has also started carrying jewelry and accessories from Chicago that are brand new and on point with the current trends. Cute and worth checking out. Their biggest money maker is the prom and special occasion dresses that they carry. They always have a huge selection because this is one of the only places to re-sell that kind of item in our town. I try to avoid this place during prom season though because it's just young high school girls running around like maniacs. read more

Not a fan, and I have given it many chances. It's not all terrible, but the cons are bad enough that I won't be back (unless I hear better things) and will not recommend. So, for the pros....there are some nice quality finds, but we're talking about Express, some Silver Jeans but mostly your step above what you would find at Wal-Mart, KMart. I'm not sure where the "upscale" comes from, but sure, lower level Calvin Klein, DKNY, Ralph Lauren, etc....is better than KMart, but honestly I don't understand the "upscale" (especially since most consignment stores here locally do not accept the kmart and walmart brand clothing). Wait...was that one of my good points?? lol. So, ok, yes you can find some nice things here, but expect to pay for them. Average about $20 for Silver jeans, which is a great deal (considering I pay $80-120 brand new) but they are used, so they should be much much less than new. The cons, in order, with 1 being the worst... 1. The staff is rude, and I mean really rude. I have noticed that at a lot of places out here, so maybe that's how people are taught, but for me I find is shameful when someone walks into a small (and I mean small) store where the employees just look at you and do not even offer a simple, "hello". You feel uncomfortable and honestly once I left because I felt as if I was being stared at the entire time. When I was ready to check out I actually sat at the counter while an employee sat there hanging things on a rack, she definitely saw me but ignored me and even after I said, "I am ready to check out" she responded "I know, give me a second.". 2. The location sucks. It's right on a busy street, so it's great for advertising but it is right on top of what is probably the worst intersection in Kankakee County. There is always, always, traffic there and it can be impossible to get out if you're wanting to make a left turn. The parking lot also sucks. It is shared by several other small stores and there are not many spaces. It can be difficult to maneuver through if it's full because it is sooooo tight. I have actually seen where people have parked in spots that are not parking spots just to end up in a situation where you have to be an obstacle course driver to get in/out. 3. The store is small, and packed. This is a con for me on a lot of consignment stores. The racks are on top of racks and the shoes and purses are just shoved in and even though it's packed and packed there isn't a whole lot in any one size because there just isn't enough space. 4. I think the good reputation this store has in the area is based on teenage girls, which is fabulous for them, but unless you are a teenage girl do not expect there to be any "upscale" consignment finds or employees that are happy to see you or a very good shopping experience at all. read more

Very stylish and well kept resale shop. Not cluttered up like most shops. It's actually a really fun shopping experience and we've sold a lot with them and will continue too sell with them. Prices seems great for buyers and sellers a like. Bets having a garage sale and wasting my whole weekend. When they can do it for me and I end up about the same. With a free weekend. Love that! They have so many items to choose from and also designer/brand names. When you can get Calvin Klein jeans for $6, who can beat that? I have bought numerous suits for work for $10-$15 at this store.
